Never been to Florida in March. Should I pack more shorts or pants. I heard that days are more shorts weather and nights are cooler. Am I right? I am travelling with 2 young children and want to make sure I am prepared...

Thanks all!

I would dress in Layers. It is cool in the morning too. I will be dressed in Capri's a tank and a hoodie. My DS will be wearing windpants that unzip into shorts with a tee shirt and windbreaker. My husband wears shorts, Tee shirts and a sweatshirt. It is hard to pack for this type of weather because you need to bring so much stuff. I try to do laundry twice during our week so I don't have to pack so much stuff. I always wear sneakers and socks because once my feet are cold I get cranky. I believe it is the warmest from 2-4.

If you are used to northern temperatures, you will probably find that shorts are fine for most of your days. As the PP said, evenings and mornings may still be cool, but the weather can vary. Averages will probably be 80ish for highs and mid 50s for lows. Personally, that's pants weather for me. But, when I was living in the north, I would have probably packed mostly shorts with a pair of jeans or two that can do duty if needed.

I packed a mixture for my trips in Jan & Feb. Heavy weight short sleeve shirts, capris or longish shorts, cotton long sleeve shirts, jeans and I usually wore my ski shell with a fleece jacket underneath from home.

My trip last March caught me by surprise. I figured if the weather had been y pleasant high 70's, low 80's for my Jan & Feb trips surely March would be unrelentingly warm. Not so grasshopper! The weather was just like what I would have expected for Jan & Feb trips compounded with wind so there was no desire on my part to lay by the pool after swimming. However the heavy weight short sleeve shirts & capris were just fine both day and evening.
