We will be going to US/IOA in early June. We have already purchased our tickets (79.99 for 7 days)

We need an off-site hotel at a good price. I've looked online, but you really don't know the quality of the hotel till you get there. (We are staying off-site as there is other things we will be doing while there.):goodvibes

Can anyone recommend one?

Thanks for you help!

The Hampton Inn, Doubletree and Quality Inn across the street from Universal are all nice. I'm not sure of the rates though.

we are going in one week for the kid's spring break and using the 7 day tickets. We used priceline and are staying at the Doubletree for $55. Normal rate is $139. The Sheraton comes up for around $45. These are 3 star hotels. You need to learn how to bid at bidding for travel website first.

Homewood Suites @ Universal was great. Free hot breakfast and managers reception at night (during the week). Suites were spacious and clean.

I am staying at the Hyatt Place this week. It looks good, and I've had some good comments on it from fellow Diser's.

Wow...that's pretty good!

Wow you got a great rates for the doubletree cause I am paying $80.00 a night in july and that is from AAA site and another reason I say great rate and that is if you check Doubletree website they have raised thier rates to like $249.00 a night and it is a nice hotel and if your going to pay that price then I would stay onsite .

There are supersaver rates for the onsite hotels and for not much more than the $139, you can be onsite. I'm not sure of your dates, but for some Believe me, FOTL is worth the extra money. From June 1 - June 5, you can get a standard room at RPR for $195/night. Depending on how many are in your group, if you wanted to buy Express Passes, you would save a TON of money by staying there. But, let me tell you, to get Supersaver rates, you have to stay 4 nights or more and you have to play with it a little to get them to come up. For example, I tried June 2 - 6 and they didn't come up for that time frame.

Look at Hyatt Place Universal. Looks great. Some people are staying there this week and are going to do a trip report for us.

We got our Super Saver rate for only 3 nights but it's in December and actually I am going to change it to 4 nights I think! :woohoo:

We stayed at the Sheraton Studio City and really liked it. It's half a mile from US/IOA. If you get one of the rooms on the top floor you can see the Hulk roller coaster from there. I got it on Hotwire for $52/night. I picked Universal area and 3*.

That's a great rate as well. :thumbsup2

Got a days inn for 35 a night plus tax next wet and wild with a park shuttle.
I will let you know how it is when I get back at the end of may.

We don't look for much. A clean room, clean bed, clean shower. Most of our time is spent at the parks.
