Going in April - do we NEED TS restaurants? (non DDP)

We are going in April with DHs band students. We have counter service coupons for all our meals while we are there. My plan is to just eat counter service meals the nights we are at MGM and MK so we can spend more time riding or whatever. Can anyone think of a benefit to eating at a TS place in the parks? The only one I can think of is that we could do the Fantasmic Package if they aren't already booked up.

We are splurging on Boma's and Chef Mickey's for bfast, and Spoodles the night we go to Epcot (because we like the BW).

Thanks!

If you have coupons for meals I would just do the counter service, especially since you are already doing a character meal and one dinner at the Boardwalk.

As a fundraising, trip-sponsoring band mom, I've got to ask you; what kind of a package were you able to get for the band? Does it include performing at WDW? We are due an out-of-state trip next year and we are always looking for great ideas and deals. The most exciting trip our director has planned was to Branson, Mo. Try selling a bunch of teenagers on that one!

No real benefit, except some of the TS restaurants have really cool atmosphere's. My kids love to eat at the Sci-FI in MGM, they just love to eat in those cars. I really think that the resorts have some of the best TS restaurants though.

Thanks for the replys. They are in line with what I was thinking, but you know I'm obsessed at this point and couldn't remember if I was forgetting something.

Hunnypots, I don't know all the details about the trip. We are performing a concert through Magical Music Days. I know Disney has a website for it, though I don't have a link. The kids are performing just to perform, but I know Disney also does festival ratings and an invitational. I think the room prices are the same, but the tickets are deeply discounted. I'm not sure how much the band pays for the CS coupons, but I think it works out to be a very good deal. We also get a special breakfast our first morning at Fantasia Gardens. The main problem with doing a trip like Disney is that the school district won't let DH take the kids out of school for it, so we are going over their Spring Break.

bscmom, I totally agree with you about the atmosphere.

Check out the website disneyyouthgroups.com.You'll have to register and be given a password to access the pricing, etc. The ticket prices are wonderful (we were thrilled); I don't know about hotel rates, as we are renting DVC points.
