For those of you that have switched from traditional scrapping to digital, how did you do it?? I've really enjoyed traditional scrapping, and I'm in the process of finishing up my 6th scrapbook, but it seems that I'm really struggling with layouts. I have TONS of paper, a Cricut, and lots of embellishments, but it's been so expensive and the costs keep adding up. I'm really thinking that Digital might be the way to go for me, but how do you switch?? Do you just sell all your traditional stuff?? How do you print your pages?? Thanks for any advice.

well, first things first, you need a program like photoshop, photoshop elements, creative memories story teller, etc. these are all programs that you can edit pictures in and make pages, etc.

there are TONS of free kits, embellishments, fonts, etc out there that you can download and use with these programs.

I still have all my paper, tools, die cuts, etc and I still use them to make cute mini books, cards, etc. I don't think you have to get rid of your stash (unless you really don't use it :) )

as for printing, lots of places now offer 12x12 page printing or you can put your layouts into digital photobooks. :)

enjoy!

When I started digital, it was just to scrap all my favorite recipes onto pretty paper and print out on my printer to put in my current recipe book. Well I got hooked. I never thought just a short while later I would be digi scrapping my 12 x 12 layouts because like you I have TONS of stuff; paper, embellishments, ribbon, a cricut machine, cartridges - some I have never used. I am thrilled when friends ask to borrow my cartridges so they get used. I mainly use my traditional scrapping supplies for card making and my niece and daughter will use it for school projects.

I have done storybooks, right now I am working on a 20th anniversary album for my DH. I print out some layouts (8 1/2 x 11) the recipes, and the 12 x 12's I have printed thru a vendor.
