Going for Sushi tomorrow

I'm back from my lovely 2 hour sushi lunch with my friend! I LOVED it!!! I tried 6 different kinds of rolls: California, Spicy Tuna, Sweet Potato, Alaska, Philly & Cucumber, the miso soup and seaweed salad. I liked everything, but by far my favorites were the sweet potato rolls! I can already tell I'm going to be craving those! I can't wait to go back and try something else now. Thanks again everyone!

I wish more sushi places served the sweet potato rolls! glad you were able to have some!

My favorite affordable sushi is chirashi--you just get everything on top of a big bed of vinegared rice for much cheaper than the corresponding nigiri pieces would be.

If I do go all out and get nigirizushi, I get
hamachi (yellowtail)
amaebi (translates to sweet shrimp, but basically raw shrimp. You get the deep fried heads that can be eaten eyes, antennae and all, and are actually delicious)
either unagi or anago (eel--never can remember which is freshwater and which is saltwater)
uni (sea urchin roe)
maguro (tuna)
sake (salmon--I've lightened up. When I lived in rural Japan 25 years ago, this was seen with suspicion as an American sushi that was wormy. But I can adapt and go with the flow. It's delicious.)

I've quit asking for toro (fatty tuna) as I can't afford it. I will eat it again, though, maybe for my graduation. That and odori ebi (shrimp so fresh it's still moving, or "dancing.") And shako (mantis shrimp)!

Question for someone who has been to yakitori restaurants--What is the name of that fish that is about skewer sized and filled with roe? I think it was just naturally that way, not stuffed. It's been bugging me for almost 20 years and I know I want to try it again someday.
