Just booked a room for the first week of May . For those of you who have been during that part of May, could you please share some info about the weather and crowd level during that time. Thanks in advance for your help.

The crowds are very manageable and the weather is really perfect for theme park touring. We have been the first week in May three times now, 2012, 2013 and 2016. The highs and lows have been anywhere from mid 70/low 60's to mid 80's/70's. On two of our trips it has been cooler than "I" was expecting on a day or two. Not cool by most standards I'm sure, but in the low 60's by sundown. In the evenings I've seen a ton of toddlers with $30 sweatshirts because all they had packed were light weight tank tops, shorts or sundresses.

Thanks, AJA. Went the first week April this year and the weather was wonderful; however, it was still crowded from Easter and spring break.

crowds next may that week will be "5" -"7"'s .. it isnt slow but it is managable... our fav time of year to go for weather, not as humid as september in our experience's.

We've only been once during that time and had an absolute blast. Crowds were great for us.

We were there at that time a few years ago, and the temps were in the mid-90s the whole week. Along with the intense sun, about killed me. But....the crowds weren't too bad.

We were there 2nd and 3rd week of May and crowds were really ok. Temperatures were pretty high compared to the average for the month of May and we had some of those summer thunderstorms too. So the first week of the month might be better.

We just got back and we had a wonderful time. Our first day was the 4th, and it rained pretty hard but by the time we got to MK it had stopped and we had a great time! Since we didn't arrive until 4 and had reservations at Liberty Tree for dinner, we figured we'd just do the attractions in Frontierland, Adventureland and Liberty Square. It was such a small amount of people we ended up going over to Fantasyland and doing quite a few things over there as well. I think I counted around 11 attractions between 4 and 9:30, counting an hour (at least) dinner. This is a copy and paste I wrote on another thread:
My favorite time has always been September but since free dining not so much. We are now returning from a week at Disney (4 - 10) and it was wonderful! Especially at night. The only really busy day was 5/5 at MK but I think it was because it rained hard the day before (which was a fantastic time to do MK-we did many attractions plus many more we hadn't expected to do but it was also EMH). During our trip I inadvertently scheduled 3 evening EMH days (MK, HS, and EP) and crowds were very very low. We ended up canceling all our fps for EP, we just didn't need them. Also, we didn't get inside the park until around 9:30 and only waited around 25 minutes for Joy/Sadness and 10 for Baymax. I found AK fairly crowded but it was our last day, it was hot, we were tired, but once I dropped all our plans and we just winged it, it turned out to be a great day. I think for those who are first or one timers it's important to try to see as much as you can. If you plan to go back, just hit the highlights an see what you can. Overall I found out that out of 7 days only 9 of our fast passes were useful or even necessary. Some of those would have not been necessary using the EMH as well. We had fps for FOF parade but that turned out to be our undoing because the hub is full sun and hotter than hades. After that, the girls were done for and we ended up canceling our BOG and headed back to the resort for a swim and a movie on the lawn.

Thanks for the replies. Hoping May will be cool in 2017!

We went from 5/8 - 5/18 this year. We were very surprised at the low crowd levels the first five or so days. Our first day was Sunday, we felt the crowd level was very low compared until Friday evening. Even after that it was never really busy but more crowded than earlier.

I've been down the first week of May a few times. To me it always seems very hot, mid 80s to low 90s. But the crowds are quite manageable, even low in some cases.

We've been going to WDW early May (May 10th is our anniversary) for a good number of years - Crowds to me have been very manageable - but the weather - other than this year - seems to always be Hot and Muggy...

We've been there May 6-13, 2014 and May 3-10, 2015. We had fabulous weather both times. Little to no rain, low-upper 80s and sunny during the day mid 60s-70s at night. It may have hit 90 once or twice in the afternoon as well. The crowds were manageable. Fast passes and planning definitely help. By early afternoon we were heading out of the parks each day because of crowds to take a break. Also, if you aren't a Star Wars nut, May 4th is CRAZY at HS. We loved having park hoppers too. There were plenty of afternoons or evenings when we would head to the least crowded park just to ride favorite rides and then leave and do something else. I also think there is usually a cheer competition the last weekend of April that might touch the beginning days of May. It never really bothered us, but depending on where you are staying it might bother you more. Also, Disney Springs was crazier those day when the squads were in town. Already planning May 6-16, 2017 as well. We had to skip 2016 because I am due with baby #2 in 9 days :)
