Going during shorter hours? Did you take a break at midday?

We're going November 2-10, and I belive the hours are sort of short for that time of year, right? Well, have you gone when the hours were short, and if so, did you take a break in the middle of the day? I don't want to kill us (it's our honeymoon) but I don't want to miss out, either...

TIA!

we usually still take a break mid day and then head out to dinner and another park at night. The lines are usually so short that you get most everything done and still have plenty of time left. We go every sept and I think the longest I have ever waited in line was about 10 min...and we have rarely used fp. Even though the hours are short it should even out wiht low crowds.

Yes, the hours are shorter. But don't forget about EMH evenings. You can take a break in the afternoon, then go to whichever park is scheduled for EMH that night. You just need to make sure you have the "hopping" option on your tickets.

I did not take a break when I went at times that were not in the summer. The main reason we did breaks in the summer was to avoid the hottest time of the day, the afternoon rain, or just to get away from the crowds for awhile. However, we did take long lunch/snack breaks throughout the day and since the lines were short we did not feel the need to rush from one thing to another.

We went two years in December, just DH and myself. Sometimes we took a break and sometimes we didn't. We have gone an awful lot though, and just went to relax, so didn't really care what we got in or not, so we didn't start early in the AM at opening, which I would do if I were trying to accomplish anything. EPCOT Illuminations is at the same time anyway year round I think.

We saw the MK stuff during MVMCP, so that was taken care of, and we don't really care for Fantasmic, so we went to see the Osbourne Lights I believe around 5:30 or 6, it doesn't really take that long, and then went to dinner after. We did usually go swimming a couple times in the afternoon, and one time went to two movies at Downtown Disney in the afternoon.

No we usually never take breaks and then go back to the parks. Once we leave the parks and go to the hotel thats it we just stay there. But then again it is usually during the times when the parks close at 6 or 7.

We never had, even when our kids were small. We've always gone during the slower time of year (except this year) and MK/EP is open till about 6pm. EPCOT 9pm and MGM usually 7pm. We've always thought the days were short enough as it was to leave and come back. It takes up too much of the day and my DH swears it would tire him out running back and forth like that. I sort of agree, although I can see it this time of year and he still doesn't want to even try it.

We found that it was perfectly fine staying all day. We had a fairly early dinner, usually around 6pm.

When we went at the end of Oct./beginning of Nov. last year, we spent the afternoons swimming -- either in our resort pool or TL (BB was closed.). Both were far from empty, but it was still a relaxing break from standing in line in the main parks.

We only took breaks if we felt like we needed it i.e., we were very tired! Some days we did and other days we plugged along just fine without them. Just listen to your body and take a break if you feel worn out. :sunny:

We've also found that if it unseasonably warm then a break is definitely needed! :teeth:

Have a great honeymoon!

We never take breaks--we usually go in September or October--we figure we're there, might as well stay and we can rest when we get back to the timeshare later. It seems like too much more of a bother to us to have to go all the way back to the car, drive to the timeshare, and head back later. I know that if we stayed on property, we'd be the same way as well.

We went in January 2004 when kids were 5 and 19 months and thought we would be taking breaks, but they did Great!!!! We didnt need them, crowds were almost non existent and the weather was perfect. I would play it by ear and see what happens

Congratulations on your wedding!

Whether you take a break during the day depends on what kind of trip you want. I went with just my sister last Dec and our goal was to see and do it all in just a few days, so we spent every possible moment in the parks, eating an early table service dinner as our break for the day. With my kids, I definitely take the afternoons off.
You might want to take some time to enjoy your resort, either a day off here and there or some afternoons or mornings. That's one thing my sister and I regretted. We stayed in a moderate, but we should have stayed at a Motel 6, given the little time we spent there! :flower:

We never take breaks - my husbands idea. Instead, we always stop for a nice table-service lunch. This gives us a nice break from the weather, time off our feet, not to mention a nice meal. However, I did notice that you are staying at the GF. Since that is so close to Magic Kingdom and even close to Epcot via monorail, you could easily take breaks from those parks without loosing too much park time. I like taking breaks on Epcot days. That way you can come back fresh for an evening dinner in the countries and watch the fireworks. Another tip - we will sometimes take the bus to MGM and then the boat to the back door of Epcot. This allows us to avoid the long walk back to the countries and the boat ride is nice.

No matter when we go, we play the breaks by ear. It is nice to go back to the hotel early at least one night to enjoy activities there. We sleep late and get a later start too sometimes and do not need the midday break. I usually have breakfast and dinner planned and we wing it at lunch.
