Happy Sunday everyone, I hope everyone has a great week so I am planning my trip (first solo trip) and I am going for 12 nights and staying at music. I have some general questions about some things so here we go.

1. I understand that you can still ship to the resort? Since I am going for 12 nights i would like to ship some stuff that would only hold me up at the Airports. I also don't check bags I only do carry on. is shipping through UPS still allowed

2. Has anybody used the Sunshine Flyer I am seeing mixed reviews?

3. Do I really need Genie plus? Since I am just one person

4. Has anybody used Magic plus and can i use that if I dont use Genie plus?

5. Any tips for a solo trip for those who have done this type of vacation?

6. for a solo trip is the memory maker worth it for pictures?

Thank you in advance

for any advice, tips and questions answered

1. Don’t have experience doing that, sorry!

2. I haven’t personally used it but read a lot of good reviews when deciding on our mode of transportation between MCO and the resort. They seem to be the better option between that one and Mears, from what I’ve seen.

3. Your call. Most attractions don’t have a single rider line, there are only a handful that do, so it depends on your touring style. With a 12 night stay I’m assuming you’ve got a fair amount of time at the park, so you can do it without G+ if you want to. The 30 minute early entry is super helpful to get 1-2 big attractions depending on the park and then move on to some secondary ones before lines pick up. If you like to sleep in, G+ is nice to have to be able to stack some attractions before you enter the park.

4. Do you mean Magicband+? Apologies if not. It still has other uses if you don’t need it to tap into rides for Genie+. Its extra features beyond what the regular Magicbands have are not Genie related.

5. I’ve never done solo, can’t answer this one either!

6. I think memory maker is great value when you’ve got a long trip to spread the cost over. If you want your ride pictures, are planning to meet characters, and will stop for some photographers around the park I think it’s still a good buy solo.

I'm going to zero in on number 3. To me a solo traveler makes the most sense to get Genie Plus. Have you ever waited 45 minutes by yourself to ride Frozen Ever After? I usually don't find that sort of experience any fun at all. When you're waiting with at least one other person the time passes easier.

Some people don't want to or can't go on a lot of the big attractions, and those people should skip Genie Plus. You can avoid lines by arriving early or staying late and still get on bigger attractions with shorter waits. The parks can be done without Genie Plus, but personally I'd try everything available to shorten lines, especially when I'd only have to pay for one person getting the benefit.

You will find the most value from Genie Plus in Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. You may want to try it one day in one of those parks to help you decide if it is worth it for you. If it were me I'd get it for any full day in any of the parks.

We traveled with another family for our prior Disney trip who purchased memory maker. I think the biggest advantage is you get pictures of everyone in your party without having to hand your camera/phone to a stranger. They tend to take a LOT of poses at each location which I found to be far more then we needed. If this is a 'once in a lifetime' Disney trip vs something you do often probably also makes a difference. I don't know if you can just hand your camera to a Disney employee for an occasional picture which would seem to accomplish as much and be less costly.

Yes, you can ship to resorts. There should be shipping label information on the respective resort thread on the Disney Resorts Forum. Be aware that you may be charged a fee for each package received -- I think it's $6.

The DisneyFoodBlog posted update for the All Star Music in January 2022
They have lockers near Melody Hall for guests that have online check-in. Not sure about fees, etc but I think the package must include :
Guest and arrival date on front with All Star Music legal shipping address.

I recommend you install the new 50th Anniversary APP on your cellphone.
It will help to organize your plans and is free for the basics.

I guess if I was traveling Solo, I would want to use the SunshineFlyer instead of other choices .
I assume they have an actual location inside MCO similar to the former Magic Express. I think that is my biggest worry : standing around and worrying about being picked up!!!
Hopefully somebody has actual experience with this new travel service.

We used Sunshine Flyer snd it was a great experience. We’ll use it again.

You may wish to ask some of these questions in the solo forum as you’ll get help there from others who have travelled solo.

Sorry I did not know there was a separate solo section .
I normally travel solo and was trying to be helpful.
I’ll check out the Solo section .… sounds like a place to meet new friends

If you are nervous about finding the sunshine flyer there's a few good videos on youtube that people have posted that show walkthroughs of where it is located in the airport and how to find it that could be helpful.

It worked great for us. Not much different than MDE other than the cost. :headache: We loaded from the airport very quickly, and stopped at one, maybe two other resorts before getting to ours. They had an incorrect pickup time for us back to the airport but a quick email resolved that. We would use them again.
3. Do I really need Genie plus? Since I am just one person
Well, this is a personal subjective thing. It depends on how well you tolerate lines, how much of a ride person you are, etc... We found it very much worth the cost versus the alternative of standing in long lines. We didn't have to rope drop to get the headliners with low wait, etc... We did standby-only the summer of 2021 (there was no FP or G+) and vowed not to return until a new system was in place. Since you now purchase it one day at a time as needed, you could try it one day and see what you think. It's most useful for Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios in our experience due to the number of rides offered with G+ in each park. It's also most useful if you book your first attraction when you are first able to at 7am.
