Going at Christmas...what to wear???

Well we're finally getting to go at Christmas! However I have no clue as to what type of clothing to pack. We've always gone in the past during July so it's been light weight, cool things. So now I need help figuring out what type of clothig to take for our trip at Christmas till New Years. Please give me some ideas and options. Thanks for your help.

I wouldn't think about it until a week or two before you leave. One year friends and I were in shorts and T shirts. 2005 it was warm during the day but jacket weather at night. 2006 we were wearing winter coats, hats, scarves and gloves.

You just never know.

In addition to the long and short red and green pants and shirts (tee hee) we always bring hats, gloves and long underwear. (We drive so bringing the extras is not a big deal). Too many times we have seen people dressed for August and it feels like February! We like to be prepared.

This is our approach also and this past Christmas / New Year 12 day trip we used just about everything we brought at one time or another. Also be sure to bring rain wear. We now own 4 ponchos and 2 umbrellas that will be packed in the luggage from now on when we go back. If we had remembered to pack the waterproof windbreakers they would have worked over whatever the temp required and saved us from purchasing the above mentioned rain gear. We also had days that we were at the pool so a little of everything is the key. My shoe of choice is any pair of crocs I have with me. I had no problem when they got wet but the person in our group who soaked their sneakers was not so happy. We have our Mickey Ear Santa hats which worked well on cold nights. It was a wonderful trip - crazy weather and all and I am sure you will have a great time as long as you are prepared for the crowds and the weather. If you have certain meals you want to do be sure to make your reservations as soon as possible so you are not disappointed. Enjoy the planning and the trip.

Pack your entire wardrobe, because you are going to need everything you own! I have been going at Christmas since 2001, and it's amazing how much the temperature and weather changes from day to day. One day can be 80, and the next will be 59. This year I brought two sweatsuits, two pair of jeans and T's, two pair of shorts, rain gear, and my winter jacket and gloves. This was the first Christmas where I did not use my winter jacket, but I used everything else. You will Love Christmas , but the crowds can be horrendous.

I was in WDW twice during the month of Dec (both times early in the month). It was 1998 and 2006. Both times we went from a straight week of 80's....down to only 50's or 60's for highs. Be prepared for anything. We always need an extra suitcase when vacationing in the Nov-Feb time period.

We have spent the past three years at WD from Dec. 28-Jan 11. We found if you plan for all possibilites you will be fine. We fly so we try not to overpack for four of us. I found that if we all wore long pants and layer a long sleeve shirt and hoodie on the plane and then took one additional pair of pants, a light weight jacket, shorts, tees and bathing suit you are pretty much covered for all weather. I did throw in thin gloves for the boys this past trip because last year it was freezing for a few evenings. This year it was so hot we didn't even need a sweater. The key is to take a little bit of clothes for cool and hot and you will be fine. There are always washers available if needed. Have Fun!!
