Just happened to stumble across this forum and found some interesting information here...so thank you everyone for that.
I'm semi local, and will be hitting Disney World, for one Night this Saturday.
Any suggestions on a good place for breakfast Sunday morning, where being solo isn't a glaring obvious, oh, you poor thing by yourself, kinda place?

Staying at Pop Century...just got out of a 2+ year relationship that ended badly, and decided to get out, and hit disney, instead of sit at home and ponder stuff...

Yes, I will be eating my way around Epcot Saturday afternoon!!

I've found the Bar at the Polynesian upstairs next to Ohana's is very relaxing and the bartenders are excellent..just not sure if I want something that quiet...

Any ideas, suggestions, tips would be appreciated...first time going to disney solo, even if it's just one night, not quite sure how I'm going to feel..the whole point is to cheer up, relax, and get over the evil she devil spawn of satan...ok, I'm kidding, she wasn't all that bad, it just ended badly...well, ok, all breakups are bad, but this was over the top nutso...I'll just leave it at that.

I don't have any advice for you, but just wanted to let you know I am flying down next week for 3 nights after I broke up with my girlfriend of a year. It is also my first solo trip

If it is nice enough I would choose anyplace outside were you can people watch.

actually just tweaked my reservation to check in tomorrow and stay 2 nights, jist head up after work, check in and relax

well you both have found a nice place to clear some bad chi and just relax and enjoy .. where else but at WDW :goodvibes :grouphug:

Pop has a very interactive Petals Bar... one of the friendliest bar on property I may say... majority of the CM/Bartender there gets everybody to chat with one another by the end of a 1st drink! Really!!! I have witnessed this and so is alot of Poppers :)

I known it sound like a broken record but things really happen for a reason... you never know.. maybe this is just a way for youn to find someone who is a much better fit... have fun... enjoy and relax the streams of peeps that will be coming your way!!!

PS: and if you are not age sensitive... I have an adopted sister by Tampa who loves Disney and is also a Diser and an Adopted brother whos also a Diser ... :scratchin forgot his town ... you should meet em if you are lookng for company when combing the parks :rolleyes1:thumbsup2

I'm the adopted sister she's referring to!

I live in Spring Hill, about 45 min north of Tampa- I'm not available for weddings or bar mitzvahs but it's only because I'm usually at the parks on the weekends. I'll be there with friends and family next weekend. Let me know if you wanna mini-meet.:thumbsup2

First let me say, you will so enjoy doing the park by yourself, you have so much freedom to do what you want, when you want, as often as you wish! Second, the one thing that always makes me happy is watching the fireworks. it doesn't really matter to me which one (although I'm partial to the ones in MK) it makes you forget about the real world just for a little bit and enjoy the magic in the sky. the last time I was there I literally sat in front of the castle as the lights changed colors and just smiled because I wasn't concerned with the last person who wronged me, my Blackberry going off or what bill I had to pay this week. the other thing I like to do is go to DTD and play with the Legos. yeah I know sounds childish but you're there to have fun and who doesn't have fun playing with Legos. you should get a celebrate pin for the weekend as well. you can say you are celebrating a new start or a new chapter in your life. all the CMs will be all over you to make your solo trip a fun one. don't forget to take pictures!! Hey you can have your pin say celebrating your first solo trip! Enjoy your weekend and eat some for me, I just found out I have to work this weekend :sad2: so I want to hear that someone had a good time this weekend.

OK I see 2 weeks on your ticker... when do you get there :goodvibes

To the OP: If you want a good breakfast, head to the Poly. Kona Cafe, I hear, has an awesome breakfast. You can even get Portuguese Sausage and Rice there (a fave breakfast of Hawaiians). But truly, someone told me the Tonga Toast was to die for. I haven't had breakfast there, but had a great dinner there in 2009. I would not feel self-concious there for breakfast, or any meal for that matter. So that is my answer to your question.

Now, as far as solo. There are many of us here on the DIS who live locally and are often at the parks. I hang out at Animal Kingdom and DHS so often, I think I wear out the tiles that are part of the entryway. Anyway, if you want to meet up, I will be there this weekend. Probably going to DHS on Saturday (provided I do not spend too much time on my call shift. Sunday I am supposed to go to dinner at the new restaurant (La Hacienda de San Angel - though not sure what is going on there) and also find time to see Howard Jones at the Eat to the Beat concert. PM if you want to meet up and hang out.

thank you everyone for the tips...im actually a seasoned disney vet, having my first visit.in 75 at 3, to just 3 weeks ago, well over 60 visits...just never by myself...anyone who.would like to meet up sat for the food and wine festival saturday, just send me a message here and we.can exchange contact info. i think tomorrow evening i may try.and hit a park depending whats open late, havent checked hours yet, and i wont arrive til around 630 and have to check in and stuff...i am looking forward to the freedom of doing what i want with no one to answer too.
i remember when it was the coral isle.cafe...not kona...and tangaroa terrace was my favorite restaurant...so many things are.changed, and different...although.pioneer hall hasnt changed, and crockets tavern is still i.think the best least known place in all of disney....
again, thanks everyone.for the suggestions!! see ya real soon...maybe

Fresh @the Swan or Dolphin. Forget which. Amazing b'fast buffet and I've never seen it crowded. And a nice walk to Epcot afterwards...

so the original question i had was breakfast for this morning. i decided to try to walk in at ohanas, got there 720, and they got me in at 730. had a great breakfast, and will be heading home in a bit. wasnt sure id enjoy being by myself, but i did. i think ill be coming again before food and wine is over...think i will plan a lil farther ahead though.
was a great relaxing weekend, much needed!
