God forbid, but just in case...

Thanks. I did not know what these were. But I hope "Sons" can be changed to be "Children" or "Loved One."

Yes, mine looks just like the one you have in your photograph. Around here, they are sold as "Mother's Flags", but as far as I'm concerned, anyone with a loved one deployed can hang them in their window.

Since Titus isn't an immediate family member, just a loved one for us I haven't added this flag to my signature. I wasn't sure it was appropriate.

OK maybe I'm an idiot but I wanted to add one for my brother. Anyhow anyone know where you can get one for your window at home?

He (my bro) was able to call his wife the other night and we do have an address to send goodies but not being able to talk to him is so hard. I'm scared for him and all of our troops. I feel totally helpless.

I would like to add a flag in my signature for my BIL - but still can't figure it out:(

Two of my friends started a chapter of "Blue Star Moms" here in our valley. One has 2 sons "over there" and the other has one. Two of these boys were in my Cub Scout den!! I can't believe that they're all grown up and working/protecting our country.

Thank you so very much Mr. J.C.
Your gesture and this thread has touched me deeply.

Do you all think that it would be ok if I put one in my siggie since my nephew has been called up?

Who's going to say "no"? Not me! ;)

For those of you that have loved ones overseas, I just ordered our star flags from the American Legion. We are members so I don't know how a non member would go about it but I'm thinking that you can go to your local American Legion and ask to speak to the Chaplain or the Commander.

Best of luck!

There you go, Cinlee. :)

Best way to add them is to put your cursor over the image JC has at the beginning of the thread, right click to get the properties, highlight the URL. When you place it in your signature you can use one of two commands

1) put the url in between [_img_] and [_/img_] or

2) type this -- <_img src="url goes here"_>

But be sure to remove the underlines first.

And here are the URLs for the flags --

Great idea with the flags :D My Step-Dad has the flag that his Mom hung in her window when he was in the Navy during WW2. He is going to hang it in his window for his Grandson, who is a Marine on his way to the Gulf.
