What items are not permitted within Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park? Selfie sticks (hand-held extension poles for cameras and mobile devices) Folding tripod stands or monopod stands that can fit inside a standard backpack are permitted. If it is just a handle size, that is allowable. If it extends out beyond that, the will likely not allow it in the park. https://disneyland.disney.go.com/faq/parks/permitted-items/ Last edited: Aug 7, 2018

We don't use a handle on it while at Disney to make it more compact to store in our bag when on rides but a small fix handle is allowed. They will usually just ask to see the stick at security to prove it doesn't extend.
