So, Cubs fans ... who do we want to play on Saturday and why?

I say: the Mets. We have some 46-year old unfinished business with them and being able to put the 1969 bad juju behind us would feel GREAT! OTOH, I think that the Cubs fans will eviscerate Utley (even though Chris Coghlan made a similar play against Jung Ho Kang last month) and that could bring some more energy ... if that's even possible.

2008 payback to the Dodger's would be sweet too

A neighbor is friends with the guy that made it. Last I heard he was talking to a lawyer about a patent for future hats. I'm sure he's too late for that. Copies are probably being made in China as I type.

we had the same table at Sports Corner! As soon as I walked in and saw it open I just KNEW they were going to win! My DS, he was literally tearing up when they won. My brother and SIL met up with us..they are even bigger fans. We went up to the roof top the last few innings since you can see the scoreboard/hear the fans, heck, we were waving to the SRO crowd up near the 500 seats. Schwarber's HR during the sunset decorating the park? It's the stuff movies are made of!

We saw the players when they were departing for their cars..near the Roof Top bars. DS got some pic's, I will try to post them later

You guys lucked out to get a table and seats! So all the players are exiting the gate near the El because of construction? Good to know!

Another quick question from someone not too familiar with Wrigley Field. I know about the roof top seating across the street from the Field and all the back and forth about it but I noticed last night that a section of roof top seating was empty. I can also see it in the top right corner of this pic.

Why is no one there, have they become blocked by maybe the video displays?

Yes. I think a few of the rooftops have had their view blocked by the two new video boards in left and right fields.

I'm assuming they were new this year or are they some sort of temporary thing. I just thought adding video screens, 2 in fact, would be another end of the world prophecy like when they added lights.

New this year and permanent. Much consternation about putting them up, as there was about having several advertisements around the field a few years back. It always was no field advertisements, but the costs of running a team today made them necessary. The Cubs do have a revenue sharing contract with the rooftops association, and the association say the Cubs broke the contract. No idea where that will go, but the video boards are there.

The Rickett family has purchased a few of the rooftop buildings.

I don't mind the one is left field, but the one in right field is an eyesore and it ruined *my* view of the rooftops. I hate it. I always loved how the neighborhood felt organically part of Wrigley.
