I'll have to agree with you MossMan. There was something missing from the Panthers on Sunday. Panthers fans, don't you have to admit that the whole team was just "off"? I KNOW our team is better than what they played on Sunday!!!!

I love my team........ I also respect the players, I think they are a great bunch of guys!!!!

::yes::
I totally agree. They just had an off game Sunday. They are a great team and great guys. They just didn't have their best game Sunday. This game reminded me a lot of the Tampa game they played at home. They just weren't all together on the field. Jake was shaken up, and the running game was knocked out early in the game.
I am still SO PROUD of our PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:
They had a wonderful season. I look forward to next year! They truly are a great group of guys! I think they are a classy team.

Ruh-oh, is someone talking smack about my son's team?

Mossman, my son has interned with the Panthers for 3 years. Prior to that he interned in the summer before he graduated. Were they disappointed on Sunday? Yes, but in any game someone is going to lose.

I've met many of the staff members and some of the players. When they went to the Superbowl, my DH spoke to Jake Delhomme at the party that followed. He's the most down to earth person you'd ever meet. You'd be hard pressed to find a more dedicated, professional and compassionate organization than the Panthers.

No matter what the outcome one thing that never wavers is PANTHER PRIDE. It's a great team who has given us an incredible season.

BTW, Regina, has your son said how Nick Goings is doing? I haven't seen recent reports on him and I was just wondering. I hope that he is OK and that there are no problems. I really like him! He really did shine so much last year when there were so many starting players with injuries. He could run and catch! Jake is my favorite player. (I am originally from LA too.....so I am another cajun rooting for a cajun!!!!!!) I would have to say that Nick is one of my favorites, too, though!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But I have to disagree that the Seahawks are a superior team, they were on that day but overall I don't think so. I'm not taking anything away from the 'Hawks, they played a heck of a game, but if the Panthers had brought their "A" game, I think it would have been a totally different outcome. ..
Now you are just doing what everyone else has been doing to the Panthers all year.

I have lots of friends in Chicago who love their Bears like nobody’s business. Of course they were disappointed when they lost to Carolina. They really believed they were going to win that game. But I stop listening to them when they try to tell me that Bears are still the better team. How can they say that? The Panther beat them convincingly. What more does Carolina have to do to prove to the Bear faithful that the Panthers are indeed the better team this year. Anybody can say anything they want before the game is played, but once the final score is posted all arguments become moot. The game itself trumps any opinions you may have. The Panthers beat the Bears because they have the better team. End of story.

And the same is true of the Seattle game – except Seattle beat Carolina even more convincingly that Carolina beat the Bears. It was painfully obvious who the better team was on Sunday. One team had the better offense, better defense, better passing, better receivers, better blocking, better kicking, better rushing and played with far more tenacity and grit. Now it may surprise you to hear this, but that team wasn’t Carolina. The Panthers were overwhelmed in every category of play. In over 35 years of watching this game, I have rarely seen so emphatic a win at this level. In terms of out an out dominance, this game will go down in NFC history as one of the most lopsided victories ever in a Championship game.

True, sometimes the better team does lose a game. That’s football. But when the better team loses it doesn’t get horribly embarrassed in the way Carolina was humiliated by the Seahawks. I watched the game and the better team won.

I guess you missed the Panthers play the NY Giants just a couple of weeks ago. That was pure and total domination. But, are the Panthers THAT much better than the Giants, they were THAT day, but overall, I don't think there is that much separation between them.

You're free to have your opinion just as I am free to have mine. My opinion is that the Seahawks PLAYED their hearts out on Sunday and the Panthers did not. I'm sure you know what the phrase "any given Sunday" means. One games does not a "better" team make, except on that day, which in the NFC Championship game was all that mattered. The Seahawks were better that day, I'll grant you that. There are other factors to consider, such as us having a 4th or 5th string running back, this being the 4th straight road game in as many weeks, etc. I know at this level they are supposed to play above all of that, but sometimes that is easier said than done. But it's all moot now, Seattle continues and we do not, that's the bottom line.

And I have not a clue what you mean by doing what other's have done to the Panthers all year????

If I felt Carolina played their best game, I would happily declare the Seahawks as the best in the NFC. I'll see how they play against Pittsburgh, if the game is even close I'll give the Seahawks some more credit.

Nick has a concussion, but he's going to be okay. Jake is an absolute sweetheart. They raise real gentlemen in LA.

MossMan, let me guess, you're a Randy Moss fan. Are you taking out your frustration with your team's season on us? :confused3

This was a nice little thread for Panthers fans. I don't know why you feel compelled to to take swipes at the team and insult us in the process. Despite the predictions of the sports pundits, the Panthers made it to the final four. Unfortunately, they lost. Big deal. That's what happens in every game. Someone wins, someone loses.

What you see on TV is only a glimpse of what a pro team is about. I was at the Giants playoff game. They didn't even score. I also had special access to where the players exit the stadium. The Giants didn't come out with paper bags over their heads to hide their identities, they didn't hang their heads, these are professionals and they handle losses with dignity.

You're not going to change anyone's opinion or support of the Panthers. If you want to waste your time and continue trying to do so, that's your business. But for the rest of us, it's all about PANTHER PRIDE. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I don't understand why Goings didn't get more play in the regular season. He ran so well last year. I think Stephen Davis will probably retire this year. Should be an interesting off-season. I'm hoping for a signing of another top tier receiver or a quality running back. I think not having Moose this year really hurt us. Drew Carter has some height and he may prove to be a top-notch receiver given time. He made some nice catches. I think Colbert is a wash out and hope he's gone after this season.

Jake, Peppers and Steve Smith are my favorite players. I like Kris Jenkins a lot too but he's been out for the past two seasons.

Anyone been or planning to go to Training Camp? We have never been but are planning to go for opening weekend this year. Sounds like it's lots of fun.

I think all of us here are "true blue" Panthers fans. I'm not sure what his deal is or why he keeps lingering around trying to convince us that the Seahawks are a better team, especially since he is not a fan of either team :confused3
I don't see the point, if there is one.

Just letting you all know that my DS flew to Honolulu on Saturday along with the rest of the Panthers staff to prepare for the Pro Bowl.

I just talked to him. He went to the "greatest Superbowl party ever." He spotted some of the Pro Bowl players, lots of reps from the NFL, etc. What's nice about the time difference is that once the game is over, they still had plenty of time to drink more beer. :teeth:

It's not often you hear anyone say they'd rather be in Detroit than Hawaii, but eight days in Honolulu is not too shabby a consolation prize. :thumbsup2

I'm so excited for him!! I just wanted to share.
