Gnomies Gone Wild

Ugh C, Jess and LL...I can't believe the heat you've got going right now! It's been muggy as all get out here this week but temps aren't too bad so it's manageable

JJ, way to go on getting to a gym. When will you have a signed contract to start your housing search?

MM, yay for Megs!

I had gall bladder attacks for several years before I FINALLY got a doctor to listen to me (my pain presentation was not textbook... yep I'ma non-conformist is sooo many ways!)

They took it out and it was the BEST ORGAN I EVER HAD REMOVED!!!:rotfl2:

The minor pain from the surgery was nothing compared to the almost nightly 5-6 hour long attacks I had the last 6 months leading up to it!

Moral of the story..... don't sweat it. It's not a big deal.

C... I'm off this weekend with no plans! Why don't you start driving south and I'll start driving north... we can meet somewhere in the middle! It's supposed to start cooling off a bit over the weekend. Down to 80! I'll need to break my hoodies back out for sure.:rolleyes1

The girls and I finally went to see Eclipse yesterday... loved it! Why couldn't Jacob have been so adorable in the book?? I ADORE himin the movies... he annoyed the carp outta me in the books. Rob just doesn't come close to 'my' Edward.:sad2: But I gotta say the films are getting progressively better... Ican't wait to see what they come up with for Breaking Dawn. There was an interview on with the director. They plan to makeit a PG13 rating... but he did promise FEATHERS!!!:faint:

TTFN!!

I'm just at my limit for surgeries. I don't want to deal with another one. :headache:

P, I couldn't agree with you more about Jacob in the movies vs. the books. I am not loving Rob Pattinson as Edward. I like him less and less each movie.

LOL I haven't read the books or seen the movies and I'm definitely more a Jacob person than an Edward person...of course that is just on looks alone so I'm sure it doesn't mean much LOL!!!

Hopefully whatever it was Leslie, will not come back!! UGHH!!!!

Well I'm off to do a Cardio Step/Strengthing class wish me luck, hope I don't keel over LOL!

Oh gnomies how could you?!?! No switching to team Jacob!! I know all the buzz is all Taylor Lautner but you have to stay strong!! Don't fall for it! I know you know about his next love-triangle involving Bella:rolleyes1 I have to say though that it was unfortunate about Riley when I saw the movie...the guy who played him was mighty handsome! ;)

It's nice to talk about non-reality today. Things must be sucking internationally. I'm sick, hot (it's....for you...uh...98 degrees here right now and it's not even noon!), and lonely and sick of my job at the moment. And my friends and parent...my mum has now cut off ties with her once best friend, my BFF has been fired from her job, and another close friend has had her father fall off the wagon after over 30 years of sobriety....and my poor gnomies. The whole world just needs a big vacation to WDW!

LL - sorry to hear about your gall bladder...my mum had to have hers removed also. But her recovery wasn't too bad and she certainly feels better now!

Katie -:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug: I am so sorry to hear about the job....I know it sucks bigtime.:headache: I know something will come along. I know I've said it before but I will keep saying it because I believe it and I believe in you!:hug::hug: btw - saw an Iowa license plate yesterday and thought of you!

MM - glad to hear Megs got her cast taken off! That's great!

P - I also can't wait to see the Breaking Dawn feathers!! That one scene is how I convinced BFF to read the whole series!! ;)

Jen - glad things are starting to settle for you! It sounds like Texas is a natural fit!

Jess - that's awesome that Blake liked Eclipse! I've now seen it twice and there was not one bit of testosterone in the audience! Good for him!

C - if you need to get away you can always come up here and visit too! I know how you're feeling right now:rolleyes:...

LOL I haven't read the books or seen the movies and I'm definitely more a Jacob person than an Edward person...of course that is just on looks alone so I'm sure it doesn't mean much LOL!!!

HAHAHAHA! I totally am in the same boat Jen! No books read, no movies watched but I think Taylor is much better looking than Rob!

Greg is doing some work in the house right now and our internet has been disconnected for 24 hours and I'm going crazy because what I can see on my phone is limited and typing is a pain! UGH

Hey gang! Happy Friday.....it is Friday right?!?!?!?! This week I have been all messed up on the day!!!!

We are in the midst of this month-long crazy work schedule for Tom and it has been NO FUN AT ALL!!! Not that I thought it would be, just needed to vent it a little!

Today is dark and dreary...we desperately need some rain, but it is barely coming down yet. Megan and I have nothing to do today.....which has been such a change of pace for us lately. She has been playing in her room with her princess dolls in her princess castle for the past hour. I wish she had a little sister to play them with, but she doesn't seem to care to be in there by herself. It is on days like today and sometimes down at Disney when I wish for her sake more than anything that we could have had at least one more child. BUT, I guess she can't miss what she never had! Oh well....I can't fret on that any longer!

Still NOTHING new on the job front, and I am SO annoyed with all of it!!!! I guess I could sign up to sub, but I would so much prefer to have a secure position!!!! UGH! This is SO frustrating. That part-time position is still listed out there, but I have no idea why I haven't heard anything about it at all yet!!!!!!! I need a big scoop of pixie dust!

Still nothing booked for a trip to WDW yet...Tom keeps vascillating back and forth on a daily basis about it. I don't know if he is worried about the cost, or just doesn't think he will be able to get away or what......just wish I knew one way or the other about it!!!!!

The heat is finally going down around here lately. It's been miserable working in it! But we hired a new girl, finally...so not only did I get help this week (thus less sweaty as well) but Im getting a day back to myself in the shop! No more overtime though, with the new girl coming on, oh well, I guess I'd rather be less stressed. Still have to finish my stupid paper. Don't know what's going on with me! :confused3 I'm sitting down this weekend though, not getting roped into any of Blake's family events this weekend. Me and the paper. That's it. It will be completed by next month. End of story.

MM-Aw, hope you can get that trip booked!! Will be rooting for you! So sorry about the job, you and Katie are having some bad mojo right now, still thinking for the both of you!

P-Still loving all of your scrapbooking you're posting!! Feathers...:rotfl: I am really wondering how they're going to cut it to PG13, but still excited for it.

Stace- So good to hear from you! Sorry, but the Edward train has left for me! I agree, I really liked Rob as Edward in Twilight, but each movie gets worse for me...Jacob though  him!!
Must agree though, Riley was awfully cute!!

LL-Hope your weather is cooling down finally!

Jen-Still thinking about you and Prince P on all your job/home decisions!

Katie/Jen-You have to read the books! They're wonderful! I can always mail them to you if you want Katie!

C-Haven't talked to you in forever!! Hope you're doing well! Totally agree...snow...will take the heat any day!

Hi, Gnomies!!! It's Friday!!! Sounds like quite a few of you need lots of hugs and pixie dust!!!:wizard:

This week has flown by for me -- it seems like something has been going on every day! Tuesday Chelsea came home, Wednesday I ran errands, Thursday Charles had a doctor's appt. and we went out to lunch afterwards, and today Chelsea and I went to see Eclipse with my SIL and the cousins. (Connor wanted nothing to do with the movie.)

LL, I just finished reading the best light, fluffy book -- Insatiable by Meg Cabot -- it's about a writer for a vampire series who hates vampires, but then ends up falling for one! So good and so funny!

I've read the Queen of Babble books by Meg Cabot and loved them. I'm going to request that right away, sounds very good.

I've been reading an awesome book today, "Look Again" by Lisa Scottoline. It's SO GOOD. It's about this woman who adopts a little boy and then finds out that he is actually a missing child even though she adopted him legally. Crazy good.

How did you like Eclipse?

Some of her references to other vampires in the genre were cracking me up, and the actual storyline had me riveted. I didn't really want to put it down.

Oh, that does sound good! I started Haunt Me Still tonight -- it's about a woman staging MacBeth and apparently some murders are going to start happening. I love books like that! Literary mysteries, I think they are called.

How did you like Eclipse?

I thought it was the best of the three so far. I have never been as big a fan of the movies as I was of the books. I don't know why -- I guess because the three main actors just don't really fit the way I saw them in my mind. I sat next to my SIL, and we entertained ourselves with our comments. I still love Dakota Fanning as Jane -- what she can convey with just a glance or a twitch of her lips is amazing! I thought the scene on the mountain in the snow was just breathtaking. I just feel so bad for Jacob in the movies -- I think Bella was really cruel to give him false hope.

Already requested. Have you read Queen of Babble, nice and light hearted reads, put a smile on my face.

I'm liking books like that more and more lately.

I think my problem is Bella to be honest. I don't know if I like the way Kristen Stewart plays her. I don't like her with Edward. Jacob is slightly annoying in the books but I'm drawn to him more in the movies. I'm still looking forward to Breaking Dawn though, I'm interested to see how they do everything.

Dakota Fanning is amazing. I also really liked Jasper in this movie. I finally got that the stupid way he talks is a slight southern accent, that didn't come through in the other movies AT ALL.

I don't know. I love the story but the movies aren't giving me warm fuzzies like the Harry Potter movies do.

I have read all of her books even the young adult ones. ;) She is one of my favorite authors! :lovestruc

I have lots of recommendations anytime you want them. :goodvibes

I really don't like Kristen Stewart -- I think she has about three facial expressions and that voice! It's like nails on a chalkboard to me! I am interested in how they do Breaking Dawn. I might actually like the movie more than the book on that one, but I still think the whole Reneesme
/Jacob thing is just plain creepy.

Yes, that was a southern accent or a facsimile of one. :lmao: Jasper was really good, I thought. I am ready for more Aro, though. ;)

I don't know. I love the story but the movies aren't giving me warm fuzzies like the Harry Potter movies do.

Same here! Can't wait for the first part of Deathly Hollows!

I always liked Jasper in the books so I liked seeing more of him in Eclipse. I think I am the only one who doesn't find the Jacbo/Reneesme thing creepy. I mean, it is but it isn't. They explained what it meant. The girl I work with can't stand that storyline. I don't know, I like that Jacob will always be part of the clan if you know what i mean. I still think Twilight is my favorite movie of the three, because it just has the sweetness of the books to me more than the other two.

I'm impatiently waiting for the next Flavia book. I loved the last one. It's in transit to my library. It needs to get there faster! :rotfl:

Twilight will always be my favorite of the books -- do you know I still haven't seen the movie of it?

I am so glad you loved Flavia! Aren't the comments she makes about her sisters just hilarious??? Anytime she starts talking about Feely and Daffy, I know I am going to laugh. The part where I actually laughed out loud was where she is recounting how she was trying to make Daffy feel better about her piano playing, and she struck a pose at the piano and stared dreamily off into space. :rotfl: When you are done with the second book, I will tell you what my favorite line in that one was, too. ;)

You haven't seen Twilight? Oh, you need too. At least once.

I loved Flavia. She is a great little character. The interaction with her sisters crack me up. I loved that part too. I can just picture her doing that in my head. I liked when she wrote in her notebook about her sister's lipstick, each time I was cracking up.

Oh, I am sure that I will eventually see Twilight because Charles keeps mentioning how he wants to see the movies. He has always had a thing for vampires.

Yes! And then how Feely got her back by kissing her at the end. :lmao:

I think the second book is even better than the first. :thumbsup2
