Gnomies Gone Wild

Jackie - It was super funny! They actually wind up at Mark Whalberg's a few times! I thought it would be one of those films where the funny bits were all in the commercials but there were many more! :)

Katie - Seriously! I'll be 30 next September....2011....Really I'm more scared of 29;) It's not the age so much as what I thought I would have accomplished by the age...that I haven't...and that my boyfriend is younger than me and makes fun of me for it! What a jerk!

LL - don't worry about your hair! You're a beautiful woman! Blowdrying is overrated!

HOW does Sunday night arrive so quickly??

We seriously need to arrange a gnomie chat sometime soon. I have a feeling there is a lot to catch up on!

Hey Gnomies, I'm back home and back at work...ughh Jackie I'm feeling you...where did Spring Break go?????? Now to just survive the next month and a half LOL!!

Well the job fairs weren't quite what I expected, over 800 people showed up to one, of course most of them were elementary school, but still a TON of people. I did have some good contacts and will hopefully hear back from them in the next couple of days! Just keep praying, Phillip has me convinced not to panic until August...still have a lot of time to keep looking!!!

Yes I agree a gnomie chat is needed soon!!!

Hey girls!

CP, how's the first day back?

JJ, wishing you the best in your job search!

LL, how are you feeling today?

Hey to everyone else!

Do you ever feel pointless? I'm in that mood today, like my life has no point. I clean the house, do laundry, do yard work, etc...but there is no significance to my work. I don't normally feel this way, just in a funk for some reason.

I'm worried that I haven't seen any progress on the jobs I have applied for. I know they haven't done anything so it's not a rejection but it just bugs me that I applied at Christmas time and they still haven't moved forward with hiring.

I'm also very worried about Beth being able to come on this trip. She meets with her doctor tomorrow and hopefully he will understand her situation and be willing to act quickly on her nerve block procedure but if not, she is likely to not be up for it (and there are no guarantees even if she does get it done)

oh yeah, and I'm feeling extra fat today...blech!!

Ugh.. just needed to vent that!

Continuing to send good thoughts your way, Jen. :wizard:

Sorry you're feeling blah, Katie. I'm having a down in the dumps kind of day myself. :sad2: Hang in there!!

I "have" to make ADRs for my October trip on Saturday! :scared1: Are vacations supposed to be this stressful??? ;) I know, if this is the worst of the stress, I'll take it!

So Jen and I compared notes and came up with the following. In bold are the ideas we have in common.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Anything we missed?

Coveted ADRs:

Flying Fish
Le Cellier
Tutto Italia
Chefs de France
Brown Derby
Plaza
Rose & Crown

Raglan Road

"Would be Nice:"

Cali Grill ~ Would LOVE to do this one again
Jiko
Yachtsman

Paradiso 37 (Downtown Disney)
San Angel
Liberty Tree for lunch? Fried Cheese??
Teppan Edo
Narcoossee's

No ADR required but must eat here list :
Cava del tequila in Mexico
Beaches 'n Cream
new pizza carryout in Italy?
Wolfgang Puck Express or Earl of Sandwich

And finally my other random potentials are:

D23 event w/ Party for the Senses
Bistro?
Bluezoo for appetizers?
Territory Lounge for pulled pork flatbread
Lapu Lapu at Poly... finally
The Fountain at Dolphin- contender for best burger??

Oh, I'm so jealous you are making ADRs!!

I put a vote in for LTT for lunch only because I love to see pictures of that Tavern Fried Cheese. :rotfl2: And since reading MEK's review of Flying Fish that has been on my radar.

Happy Monday......although I am pretty sure by the time you all see this it will be Tuesday, so HAPPY TUESDAY TOO!!!!

I hope everyone is doing well---recuperating and getting out of the funk of Monday! Hugs for everyone!!!!

I had a GREAT weekend to round out Megan's Spring Break.....the weather could not have been better, and the three of us spent the whole weekend doing fun things outdoors....and to top it off, we ended last night with a stop at our local Graeter's Ice Cream Parlor for our favorite flavors. Now, if you don't know what Graeter's is....it is a famous brand of ice cream made here in Cincy that wins all sorts of awards, and was even once on Oprah's Favorite Things show. IT IS SO GOOD!!!! My favorite is the Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip....I wish I could send you all some, because it seriously doesn't get any better than that!!! So, all in all, a good weekend.

I know you are wondering about the possible trip----I will just say that things look REALLY good for a trip in November. Tom was just given a raise on Friday, and then also a promotion that he will be transitioning to over the summer---hence, the reason for no summer travel. BUT, after he got finished telling me all about all the movement going on at his work, the next words out of his mouth were that "those plans for November look REALLY good now!" I about jumped out of my skin. We have nothing booked yet.....I have been doing some research on historical discounts, and am still weighing out our options. I am trying to figure out too whether it would be better to go the week of Thanksgiving, or get there the Wednesday before and stay to the next Tuesday. Do you think it will be that much different in cost or crowds???? I am also thinking if it is more crowded, would it be helpful if we did our TS credits for lunches??? Get away from the crowds at the biggest time of day???? Would LOVE input!

Forgot to mention......

My best friend is at WDW this week with her hubby and four kids.....she has been sending me pics and texts all day of what they are doing, but she turned mean.......

She just sent me a picture of her beverage at dinner tonight.........a LAPU LAPU!!!!!!! She is just.......plain.......mean!!!!! ;)

Jen- how exciting that a November trip is looking good! :yay: I have never been at Thanksgiving time so am not sure about the crowds. You'll have a fantastic time no matter what the crowds are!! Keep us posted!! :)

Jen - I think the idea of doing your TS at lunch is a good idea. I'm not sure about the crowds though.l I don't know which one would be less crowded. Maybe check out TourGuide Mike for last year if he doesn't have the dates up yet. If you don't have a subscription to TourGuide Mike I'd be more than happy to let you use my login. ;)

We have a lot of changes going on right now, but everything is heading in the positive direction, so I am NOT about to complain one bit!!! SO EXCITED indeed!!! I know that even with crowds, my FP master and our willingness to just enjoy what we get will help us get through even CRAZY crowds......I HOPE!!! ;)

I was thinking the TS thing would be good too because 1. it would get us out of the sun at one of the hottest times of the day, and 2. it would pull us out of the crowds when they are at their peak, and allow us more time to tour when hopefully most people are having dinner. I am thinking that this will help at least some what! I went to go check out the UOG crowd calendar with my 2010 edition of the book, and I think even though I bought the book, you still have to pay an additional fee......WHAT?!?!?! SO I would LOVE to borrow your login to check on the crowds if you don't mind!!! TIA LL!!! Hope you are feeling well today!

Hmmm...Flying fish is on my must-do someday list. Le Cellier is YUMMO! Not sure Raglan Road the Plaza excite me personally (but I know Jen loves the Plaza)

Bluezoo looks SO good and a lapu lapu...:cloud9:

Heartbreak for Katie today....Beth is not going to be able to get her nerve block done for 2 or 3 weeks and will not be coming with me to Disney. I'm so sad for her! :sad1: I'm not sure exactly what will happen

Just as I was typing the note above, my SIL called me back. She works part-time and independently and is the only person I can think of who might be able to pull off a last moment trip like this. Turns out that not only does my brother not have any out-of-town conferences or meetings that week, but she is already scheduled to be in St. Louis on the 1st and could wrap up her meeting there and hop a plane to Orlando! She's going to talk to my brother tonight and get back to me. I'm still heartbroken for Beth but this makes me feel better

Oh, Katie! I am so sorry! I know how much you were looking forward to this trip with Beth.

I'm crossing my fingers that your SIL will be able to go with you. :worship:

Jen --- I will PM you my login!

Hi ladies!

Hope everyone is having a better Tuesday than Monday! Mine was certainly exciting! I went for a financial counselling seminar and got my eyebrows waxed! ;)

Jen - Sounds like you made some good contacts in Austin, I hope something pans out!

Jen(MM) - Yay for the trip in November! That ice cream place sounds like something here we have called Marble Slab...oooh! It is good....even though I'm not supposed to have it anymore...

Katie - I'm sorry to hear about Beth. I sure hope your SIL is able to join you. Will you go solo if no one can go? And you're not fat! Hope the blahs fly away soon!

C - I haven't eaten at too many of those places (you all know how much of a picky eater I am), but I'm sure you'll have a great time no matter where you eat. I definately vote for Tutto Italia! And I side with Jen on the Plaza, I love that place! Infact, I might see if I can get a last minute ressie myself...;) How's your gentleman caller? :)

LL - how are you feeling dear? :) Can you lift your arms yet? Anymore thoughts on the alternative school?

Hi Julez!

Hope everyone has a good Tuesday night! :)

Oh, Katie! I'm so sorry. That stinks. I hope your SIL is able to go with you too. Keep us posted.

Thanks for the feedback on the dining everyone. I'm sure whatever Jen and I choose will be great. It will be interesting for me b/c earlier this year I became not quite a vegeterian. :rotfl: But seriously I would say I only eat meat on "special occasions" now. Maybe once a month or so. You could argue my whole vacation is a special occasion so we'll see what happens. :upsidedow

Stacy - thanks for asking about my gentleman caller but he's being an a$$. Hope yours is better! :)
