Gnomies Gone Wild

Jen, your little soccer player is just precious!!! Watching the younger kids play soccer is always such a hoot!

Stace, I am so glad that everything can be treated!

Katie, super jealous that your spring break starts tomorrow -- the next two days are going to be hideous in my neck of the woods. Hence, why after vocabulary and test prep, my 6th graders will be watching Alice in Wonderland (we just did Lewis Carroll poetry) and my 7th graders will be watching Hercules (we just finished Greek mythology). Anything to keep the peace!!!

Megan is the cutest little soccer player! :cutie:

Stace, glad to hear everything is well with your test results.

Katie, it is so nice that you get to see your parents on your trip!

The surgeon spoke with the program manager at the clinic. Meeting with him tomorrow to finalize and talk about where he can place my port. I just want to know for sure, you know? They did schedule my pre-op appointment so that is a good sign!

Are you meeting with the surgeon tomorrow, LL, or is he meeting with the program manager tomorrow? Will you find out for sure tomorrow? I hope so! :goodvibes

I'm meeting with the surgeon (He) after the program manager(she) advocates for me a bit. She's really awesome. Once he signs off then I get to worry about my insurance approval. :rotfl2: My surgeon is really good though and I think he'll agree. He just wants us to be on the same page I think.

Will it be an easier surgery than the first one?

Yes, it's about a 20 minute procedure if all goes well compared to an hour last time. It's also an out patient surgery so I'll be able to go home afterwards and not spend the night in the hospital. I should be able to go back to work on Monday too, which is impressive with the surgery being on Thursday.

Oh, that's good! I was worried that it was an invasive as the first one.

No, thank goodness. The biggest concern I have is the soreness. I mean they are moving the port and putting it somewhere else so that is two big spots of soreness. Blech. I know I can make it through. I'm supposed to go to Riverdance with my mom on the Saturday after. :rotfl2: I guess I won't be able to do that Riverdancing in the aisles like I was planning. :rolleyes1

Ugh to the soreness! That will not be fun!

Riverdancing in the aisles!!! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

My mom has so been looking forward to this too. When I first told her I was having surgery that was her first question! "Will you still be able to go to Riverdance!?!" :rotfl:

TeeHee! Tell your Mom I want her to take video of that if you break out in spontaneous dancing!

Will do!

Goodness there is a lot going on with everyone!

LL- hope the consult goes well today. :)

CP- I don't know why you couldn't write a PTR about Hilton Head- it is a Disney resort afterall. I think you guys will have fun!

Julez- sorry about the work drama with Ebin's mom. Fingers crossed for you.

Jen (JJ)- sorry those Disney dreams were dashed so quickly but sounds like you will have lots of fun smaller trips. And congratulations on your hubby's promotion!

Stace- glad your news was fixable. Good luck making the diet changes- never easy but obviously good for you!

Katie- that would be great if your folks stay on site and do > 1 park. Your trip is getting close!!

Hope everyone has a better day today! :)

Good Morning Gnomies!!! Megan and I are officially on SPRING BREAK!!!! :) (sorry CP!) Luckily since one of the ladies I babysit for is a teacher, I feel like I am on break too! We are thinking of meeting Tom for lunch, and then I think some shopping is in order.....I just wish our Disney store didn't close up!!! BOO!!!

Thanks to all of you for the sweet comments on my soccer star!!! She looked so cute that I can't wait for Saturday to see her in her gear again! I LOVE watching the kids play soccer at this stage....they are all so sweet and innocent, and they run after the ball like a herd of cattle!!! I wish the mentality of this age group could last through all the ages because the focus is for all the kids to have fun and learn the game---they all get equal playing time and opportunities for throw-ins and goal kicks. Obviously there are always some kids who are better than others, but it doesn't matter because they are all out there rooting each other on. The coaches run along with them to instruct them as they go, and they are so great to all the kids regardless of teams. Our team won---2-1---but I know that none of the kids knows or cares because they all get celebrated afterwards. I think that makes it fun for everyone!

Stace and LL---thanks for the updates on your health situations....I'm saying some prayers that all becomes well for you both soon! And yes LL...we definitely need video of any RIVERDANCING!!! :)

C--thanks for the congrats to Tom for his promotion. It is one of those that we know will be good for his career, but we are very worried at least right now in the amount of time that he is going to need to devote to work. Although we would all love to take another week off together this summer, I SO realize that it would make it so difficult on him with this promotion and transition to the new job. He can manage a day here and there, but a whole week would really be difficult.

CP--your plans for today sound great....can I come down to watch?!?!?! :)

MM, our babysitter switched a few years ago to caring for teachers children only. She only works on days that teachers are on contract. She also calculates her yearly salary from each family based on that schedule and divides it into 12 monthly payments so she gets paid year round too. She loves it!

Awww...Jen...Meg is so cute in her little soccer outfit!! I bet she's a fierce force to contend with on the field!!! YAY Megan!

Leslie...wishing you the best at your appointment today!! Hope it all goes well and it all gets approved and no worries. Riverdance sounds like so much fun!!! Even if you can't dance in the aisles I know you and your mom will have a great time!

Jackie...just keep chanting the week is almost over, the week is almost over LOL!!!

I was thinking that, too, when I noticed the trip report board just says Disney Trip Reports. I think I will keep it going until someone tells me I have to close it. ;)

C'mon down, Jen! We just started watching Alice in Wonderland.

Jackie...just keep chanting the week is almost over, the week is almost over LOL!!!

Thank goodness. The kids are completely wired today -- I am so glad watching a movie keeps them quiet.

It's almost time to leave for my appointment. I don't know why but I am so nervous. EEEEK! I really shouldn't be, nothing is happening today. Just a consult.

That sounds like a good way to do it!!! You get the summers off!!! If the job thing doesn't pan out this year---which I do think it will---I should look into that!

Thanks my dear!!! A fierce force indeed....but then again, they are all pretty fierce when they are all clogged up in one big herd...all kicking at the same time!!! I wish I could post video on here, but our video camera is an HD one, and you all wouldn't be able to view it! I have some pretty hilarious videos already!!!

C'mon down, Jen! We just started watching Alice in Wonderland!

These are the times that I wish I was full of pixie dust and could just fly myself there....or wiggle my nose and suddenly appear!!! Thanks for the invite!!!
