I think sparklers are BY FAR the best "firework." I'm not sure we can buy them in Connecticut, though. At least not legally...

Don't say the summer has flown by! It's not over yet!!

Do you think you'll be able to do any live FB updates on your trip? I personally don't have the technology but really enjoy it when Anita and others are able to update while they are there.

16 days!!! I am SO excited for you!!! Main St Electrical Parade! Promise to take it all in and report back every last detail.

Sparklers are my favorite, too!

I go back to work August 4, so my summer is half over.

I am hoping to figure out the whole FB thing. I have played around with it, but don't feel completely confident yet.

EXACTLY!! We have had such amazing weather this past week. Highs in the low 80's, lows in the 60's and no humidity. We haven't shut our windows since sunday (although it's supposed to get humid later today and start raining just in time for holiday BBQ's and fireworks tomorrow )

No sparklers in conn? REally?

Jackie, I can't believe you go back to work on Aug. 4th. That depresses me. Apparently they have hot and cold butterbeer I heard. Yum. I found that it was easier for me to link my Twitter account to facebook. The facebook live update thing was just too much for me to figure out, if you want help let me know. It's fairly easy.

C, I think we can get sparklers here but nothing else. NH is the place to go for fireworks, have you ever been to one of the big fireworks warehouses? It's AMAZING what they have to sell!! When my Dad was feeling like a rebel when we were growing up we'd go there, stock up and when we went away for the 4th bring them along and have a little illegal display. I remember one year he got these sparklers that were taller than the adults and we put them in the sand in the beach, so cool!!

The weather has been amazing here too. It's supposed to get warmer and warmer again this week. I love it in the 70's. I think that is the perfect weather.

No exciting plans here either. BIL might come over for some BBQ Chicken and potato salad tonight. I might try to make a skirt today but I'm not really feeling that ambitious. I'd also like to go see Toy Story at some point too.

Good Morning Gnomies!! Made it to Kansas late last night....that was one long drive!!!!!

This evening I have my 10 year reunion I will be BRIEFLY attending and I think they are doing the fireworks tonight instead of tomorrow so I might watch those from a piece of property my parents own!!

I CANNOT WAIT FOR HARRY POTTER!!! I'm counting down the days!!!

Well off to go on a walk and workout this morning and then I'm going to get my nails and toesies done!!

Jackie...I can't believe how close the trip is coming!!!!!

I am so mad at my neighbor this morning. Not only was she loud and obnoxious last night with her guests, but she blocked Marc's truck in and he had to leave for work at 5:30AM! So he had to take my car. Now I have to drive his truck aka the death trap to switch with him so I can go out. I am so not happy. I had to shut all my windows last night they were being so loud and obnoxious outside. I don't trust myself going outside because I'm afraid I'm going to be mean.

I'm so annoyed. She's usually nice enough but she has a screened in porch that is directly under our living room window, so we get to be a part of her gatherings...something I could do without completely.

Sorry about your inconsiderate neighbor, LL. I had neighbors like that but thankfully they had a baby and that has slowed them down.

I was just looking at the points required to stay in the new DVC Hawaii resort. They aren't unreasonable... Cruise or Hawaii... hmmm.....

C, I vote you should head out to Hawaii and give us the lowdown on the resort. It looks like it is going to be absolutely gorgeous!

LL, sorry to hear about your inconsiderate neighbors. We have some behind us that when they throw a party, we can hear all their rowdiness. We're having barbeque chicken and potato salad tomorrow night! I only managed to go grocery shopping today, and then watched soccer and napped.

Jen, glad to hear you made it to Kansas! Enjoy your reunion!

Katie, our weather has been cooler lately, too. I wish I could bottle it up to take to Disney in a couple of weeks.

Happy 4th of July Gnomies!!

I'm happy to report that the fireworks in my neighborhood have been minimal so far, a bit surprising! I don't know if we have plans today or not Basically we are at the mercy of the weather right now. If the rain holds off, we will grill with the neighbors then go to our "secret" fireworks spot (not exactly secret but at least not as crowded) The fireworks are shot off from the fairgrounds and last year we parked in a church parking lot about a mile away and sat in the grass on top of a hill. The view was good and there were maybe 20 cars in the lot so we got out ahead of the fairgrounds crowds.

Normally I would love to be a part of the crowd excitement but they really just have the municipal band play and a funnel cake cart. Not worth the hassle of the traffic! I think last year we stopped and got donuts and played the radio while we waited BUT they are forecasting the rain to start this afternoon and continue through tomorrow. It will be spotty and light so who knows what will happen

Happy Fourth of July, Gnomies!!!

LL, Charles and I keep doing the same thing . They did fireworks here in town last night, but we didn't go. Atlanta is doing their big fireworks downtown tonight. Part of me thinks that would be really fun, and the other part (who is much more vocal) thinks fighting all the city traffic at night is just not worth it.

Katie, hope the rain holds off for you!

I'm with you ladies. The older I get the less enthused I am with fighting the crowds. By the time I'm a senior citizen I'll be a shut-in!
