Gnomies Gone Wild

Have a great day in Maine LL!

So I was just looking out the window and services were letting out at the church across the street. I saw this elderly couple walking down the sidewalk holding hands. When they got to their car, the gentleman backed up the car to the crosswalk so his wife wouldn't have to walk across the wet grass in her Sunday shoes.

How sweet is that?!

Awww. That is adorable, Katie. That is the kind of man I want! ::yes:: The other day I overheard a couple who were saying they'd been together now 30+ years but that this was a 2nd marriage for both. They seemed so happy and I felt like I was *meant* to overhear them to have hope that good things can still happen. It reminds me of a quote from one of my most favorite movies of all times, "Under the Tuscan Sun."

"Unthinkably good things can happen. Even late in the game."

So I'm hoping that a gentleman who looks out for my good Sunday shoes is out there! :)

Sun is finally coming out so I'm heading to the lounge chair with my stack of magazines! :thumbsup2

Enjoy your Sunday, ladies!!

Had a great time in Maine. I had a wonderful time seeing my parents and brother. It makes me realize how much I miss them.

Katie, what a lovely story! That is so sweet.

I love that movie! It is so true too. Great things can happen when you least expect it!

I called and priced out a trip for July 4th weekend yesterday. "All" they had was concierge level at Boardwalk. Doesn't that sound nice? The price did not sound as nice. Nevertheless I put it on "hold."

I will have to cancel but it is fun to think about. October seems so far away!

C, you just need to book a trip before October. :woohoo:

You know what is really mean?

The fact that all of our case studies tonight have addresses in Orlando. PLUS one of the fake people works at Walt Disney World. She uses pot to ease her stress....that doesn't sound very Disney now does it? :scared1:

:lmao: See, that's why I won't read Cast Member Confidential -- I don't want to know about those un-Disney-like people.

It's one of those Disney tell-all type books -- from the reviews I have read, it's really gossipy and sensationalistic.

Nope, not yet. It's $18 on Amazon, so I always balk at buying it.

Ehhh...I don't like that gossipy/sensational stuff. It bothers me. Like all those crazy things they say about Walt Disney freezing his body. Drives me crazy.

Realityland is really good, I was able to get mine from the library. Have you checked yours?

By the way, I finished the 4th Lady Emily book and I have to say I didn't love the ending. What about you?

I did check our library -- they don't have it. :(

I wasn't crazy about it, either. Maybe the fifth book will redeem itself.

The next Lady Emily book comes out in October. This one sounds better than the last one. :thumbsup2

Oh my goodness! That does sound good and quite possibly one of those I shouldn't read late at night when everyone else is in bed!

I found another good author -- Carol Goodman. Her books are contemporary, but they always deal with some sort of mystery from the past. Night Villa was the first one I read. It was set in Italy and was all about Herculeneaum (that is spelled wrong but I am too lazy too look up the correct spelling) that was destroyed when Mount Vesuvius erupted. The one I am reading right now is called The Sonnet Lover and deals with the possibility that Will Shakespeare went to Italy and fell in love. I was up until 12:30 last night reading that one.

I'm really excited for the next Lady Emily book, also the next Pink Carnation book comes out in October as well...that Christmas themed one.

I will put Carol Goodman on my list. Sound very good!

Oh my goodness! I had forgotten about the Christmas themed Pink Carnation book -- I need to go put that in my Amazon saved section. :thumbsup2

I would love to book a trip for myself. An economical trip for myself. UPS delivered Magical Express tickets today for the potential trip I booked over the weekend. Makes it harder to cancel...

Does anyone else think we are overdue for a gnomie chat? Seems like there is lots going on/lots to chat about? Maybe sometime over the next few weeks? :)
