Well speaking of Disney work....I officially did not hear from the international program for the July 2011 start.... This is third time I haven't heard a thing...

It's really disheartening because there are some teenagers that I work with who have friends involved in the program as we speak who care nothing about it. Why would they choose someone with no heart in it, no experience, no qualifications, and no love for their company over someone like me? I don't think I will apply again.

But I did officially start planning for Disneyland in August! I think my mother is going to come with me! I think the Disney bug is catching all over the place! Really, she just wants to go to California! I wonder what the announcement will be tomorrow! I really am hoping to get to the World this year and was hoping for a short trip for the big 3-0! It'll have to be a good offer for me to be able to afford it though!

However, I did go and see 2 excellent films today! If they come to a theatre near you, you should definately check them out. I saw The Kings Speech (delicious and amazing Colin Firth and incredibly talented Geoffery Rush), and another Brit film called Never Let Me Go (Keira Knightly, Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield) which was heartbreaking. Both made me cry (for very very very different reasons), but I highly highly recommend both!

Happy New Year, Gnomies!!!

I so don't want to go to school today. It's a teacher workday which is good because I need to ease into this whole, "dealing with kids" thing again, but my classroom is always so cold -- I have enjoyed not being chilled to the bone the past couple of weeks.

Can't wait to hear what the big announcement is going to be!!!

I have finally figured out why I take so many Disney trips...besides the magic and all that. I like to plan the trips. I have found myself this past week starting to gear up to plan a next trip but honestly...I want to go to other places but planning those trips just don't give me the satisfaction of planning a Disney trip. I think I just need to plan to go to the gym more and eat less junk....but somehow it's not nearly as fun.

LL, this is sooo me!!! Every time I sit down to plan a trip to someplace other than Disney, it is never as much fun. Hence, our return every single year to the same place.

I am with you Jackie, I'm glad today is a teacher workday, and to top it off I get to actually work in my room this morning so I am going to try to get the entire 6 weeks planned and copies made so I don't have to stress about it!!! WISH ME LUCK!!!

The one thing I am looking forward to though is having a routine and schedule again....being off of that wreaked havoc on my diet, thank goodness for exercise or it would have been BAD BAD BAD!!! No more time for snacking when I barely have time to eat lunch LOL!!!!!

I like to call it the Thrill of the Plan...there is just something so exciting about planning a Disney trip LOL!!!!!!

How fun to wake up and find gnomie chatter!

C, I have thought a lot about a desire to be a Disney travel agent. I probably could only do it if I were in a situation of not having to depend on an income because from what I've heard, if you are associated with a larger agency, they take a big chunk of your commission but it's hard to establish yourself as an independent agent.

We went to a birthday party yesterday and I ended up having a conversation about Disney with another Mom who is in the early stages of planning a trip and is feeling quite overwhelmed. It was so fun to sit and chat options!

My sister-in-law's brother is another Disney nut. She told me he also frequents the job postings and recently saw open auditions for his dream job...the Hoop De Doo Revue. His wife told him he wasn't qualified because one of the job requirements is "handsome"

CP and Jen, I'm very jealous you get to ease back into school but I'm predicting my day will ease in because my 1st hour class doesn't have a great track record for punctuality! (in the 8 days before break, I started with 2 students on 1 day and only 1 student the other 7! There are only 10 of them but still...get out of bed kids!!!)

Stace, sorry about your disappointing news...Disney doesn't know what they are missing!

I have talked to one Disney travel agency and I really would like to be a part of it but it's finding the time to sit down and actually do it, plus I need a new computer before I do any of that! Oy. Someday.

I really need to focus on other things this year besides Disney, so maybe becoming a Disney travel agent would ease the planning mania I get.

Jen, have you been super productive today? I have actually finished everything on my school to-do list (well, except for doing my website, but let's not get carried away ), so I am taking a break until our 2:00 faculty meeting.

LL, I should focus on things other than Disney, too, but really, I figure Disney is a pretty safe obsession considering the other options. LOL!

I have gotten my calendars out of the way which was my big push this morning in order to get ready for my sub I have to know what the substitute will be doing with my kids!! Now that I have that all figured out!! I'm good to go!!!!!

Looks like all that's new on Mousesavers today is some new room-only discounts that only go until October so not much excitement for me I was really hoping for something about a new promotion for this year. MK turns the big 4-0, they need to do something to celebrate!!

It was a regular day back for me---kiddos and all! I seriously felt like crying this morning when my alarm went off at 5:45......YUCK!!!!

So it was a bad idea to go to the gym after work today. There were lines for machines so I couldn't do my normal 10 minute on this machine, 7 minutes on this one, etc. I got so frustrated that I did the eliptical for 18 mins and called it a night. I can't work out when the scary thin girls give you angry eyes to get off the machine. The mornings are much quieter thank you very much.

Bummer on no big announcement, silly Disney! What are they thinking!?! We wants some discounts!

Hi gnomies! Hope you all had an ok start back to work! It was rather lovely having today off! I had all kinds of plans but wound up staying in bed until after 3pm!! Well, I got up to get food and hit the potty but all I did was lay around and watch movies!

It is my new years resolution to be more cultured (see more and better movies, read more books, go to more museums, see more plays, all that) and to see any movie that has generated Oscar buzz for the 2011 awards! So today I watched "The Town" and "Winter's Bone" which were both good. Winter's Bone was excellent and I highly recommend it. I went and saw True Grit last night which was great and in a couple of hours I'm going to see this Brit film called "Nowhere Boy" about a pre-Beatles John Lennon. So I still have Blue Valentine, 127 Hours and the Tourist left to see and then I should be complete! Oh and Country Strong!

What do you Gnomies think is the best film you saw in 2010? What is the best book you read in 2010?

I too am kinda dissappointed in the Disney offer. It's hardley bad, but I had high hopes for something better....But I might see what I can swing to go in September or early October! Congrats to you Jen (MM) on your new ticker!

Thanks Stacy! I love your resolution!!! Tom and I used to watch all the Oscar faves every year before the big event....but then parenthood hit, and I think I would have to say my favorite movies of the year are all children's movies---TS3 and Tangled! I am sure we will be cultured and sophisticated again at some point!

Stace, I was disappointed too! The room-only discounts aren't anything to jump up and down about (not that I would ever turn it down if it was the only option!) and the kids-free deal isn't much for us since it doesn't change the price of the room at all and Patrick will be turning 10 before we go next so we will only have 1 "kid".

If I go, it won't be until November and the current deals don't go that far out. Hopefully they'll come up with something better for me before then

I wasn't impressed with the "announcement" either! I can get better rates as an AP holder so I will wait for those rates to come out!! I have a few trips planned of course all of that could change depending on how the expanding family plan for 2011 goes!!!!
