Gnomes Gnomes on the Range!

Do any of you Biggest Loser coaches/participants have any tips to share? I am looking for something to jump-start my efforts. I was really good for a while but got off track over the holidays and am having a hard time getting back on track. :sad2:

Hope those of you dealing with snow are hanging in there!

My biggest thing for Blake's family was a team effort. They all wanted to start, but had trouble no one to encourage them to keep on it. I would either join a team, like on here...join Jen's team, she seems to have herself in check and you KNOW she will get on you for falling off the wagon!!:rotfl:

I had them get a meal planner (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks) to see what you're eating and exercise planner and buy yourself a goal outfit or something tangible that you can work towards. I'm good with having a HUGE calendar to write things down or cross things off, I'm better with visual things to help me see I'm accomplishing things.

Any favorite exercises? Definitely vary the activities, we have a once a week Wii Fit/Dance 2 we do or have activities together.

There are a lot of us doing the Biggest Loser challenge, I find it very encouraging to know that others are struggling and succeeding with me!!! We have weekly challenges that I really like and try to do...like this week we have to drink 6- 8oz of water a day, work out for at least 20 minutes, and journal what we eat (which will be the hardest for me), but it helps me to think ahead!! And when I stepped on the scale and saw a 3lb lost I was so excited!!

C....come join us!! If you're not into that at least you can pm and text me!!! Just start by detoxing...lots and lots of water this week!!!!!!

Thanks for the tips. Isn't it amazing what drinking enough water can do?! I forget that sometimes.

Jen - I PM'd you on how to sign up for the DIS biggest loser challenge.

Hope everyone has a great week!

I am trying to get back on track with the weight loss too after the holidays and I have lost 5.8lbs since last Tuesday. WOO HOO! I'm very happy and I hope I can keep this up and not get frustrated again.

Gnomies, I'm reading "One Day" by David Nicholls. I'm not quite finished yet but it's really quite good! :thumbsup2

I'm with you C! I was doing well for awhile but then with the pain from my teeth I couldn't handle going to the gym...and then the holidays and family being around and all that...things have definately gotten off track. Plus with all of the movies I've been watching....let's just say that my hips love buttery popcorn!popcorn:: I definately need to refocus!

Jen it sounds like you're doing great! Congrats!:goodvibes

Jess - best of luck as you finish up! sounds like your family are having a great time together as well as yeilding positive results! That's awesome!:yay:

Hi, Gnomies! We are having our second snow day here, and the weather is saying things may not thaw out until the weekend! I think I am slowly going crazy -- I hate the trapped feeling! Yesterday was okay with playing in the snow, making a snow day brunch, building Legos with Connor, playing Disney Scene It and Parcheesi with everyone (Charles and I won Scene It!), and working on my Disney binder. However, I am about ready for things to be back to normal.

At least you get to stay home, Jackie. They are predicting 10 to 15 inches here tomorrow and yet I will be expected to be at work on time. They are saying it's going to be worst at the morning commute and white out conditions. I'm trying really hard not to freak out but it's not working. Sigh. I want a snow day!

I saw that on the weather last night! I hope things aren't nearly as bad as they are predicting.

Gnomies, please stay safe in all of your snow! It's started snowing here too....Heaven knows we don't need anymore!

By the way, I took my final road test today (we have "graduated licensing" here in Ontario, the whole process took me over 5 years!) and I passed! I'm so relieved! No more road tests until I'm 80!! :) And I get a new photo finally! I'm 29 and I've had the same picture since I was 18! My cousin told me that my old one made me look like Sammi from Jersey Shore!

Stacy, congratulations!!! :yay:

All my NE Gnomies -- you know I have been keeping an eye on the weather up there. Please stay safe today!

I made the executive decision to stay home today.

Now to just have Marc get home safe from work. He's dealing with a bunch of staffing issues and call outs so who knows when he will start driving home.

2 feet of snow and still coming down. As Connor would say, "this is getting out of hand." ;)

I am DONE with winter. Can you even imagine how long it is going to take for all of this to melt? We'll still have snow in July!

5 years?!! Holy crap Stace! Congrats on finishing!!!

Ah snow..thankfully all we've had the past few days is sleet, freezing rain and rain. Ladies...stay safe up there!!

LL, did Marc make it home okay? I am glad you decided to take a snow day!

C, two feet of snow??? Wow!

Well, staff is reporting at 9:00 this morning, but no students. I am not pleased. I need my students. We have the 8th grade writing assessment on Wednesday, and I really need to get them ready for it. Besides, my classroom is always freezing -- if I don't have students in there, I am going to be an ice cube by the end of the day. :sad2:

Marc did make it home okay, the poor guy spent hours shoveling and then as soon as he went to sleep the plow truck guy came and he had to wake up and go move our cars. He's a good guy. The plow truck guy on the other hand sucks. I mean...what if I had gone to work yesterday? 11:30AM is not okay to come in and plow!

I've read two good books this week Gnomies.

"One Day" by David Nicholls and "The Irresitable Henry House" by I don't remember. :rotfl2: I'm loving my Nook, my friend at work bought the new Nook Color so she gave me her old Nook and it's awesome. I'm so excited to bring it to Disney!

My goodness! You guys are getting snow like we did last month! Yikes! It's snowing here too but not that much! Everyone take care - good choice on the snow day LL! :) I wish I had one today to be honest....I just dont feel like going anywhere! Especially work!

I have had to shovel a path in the backyard for my dog... that is surely a sign of too much snow. Calgon take me away!!!
