I LOVE them! I have a package and am looking for a new sauce/preparation for them..

I have had them with a cream/Alfredo sauce with gorgonzola cheese..yummm
Today I had some with a little olive oil, garlic, parmesan cheese, butter. yummmm

Any other ideas?

Would also love an easy recipe to make my own little potato dumplings..

:confused3 regular spicy tomato sauce

I don't eat them anymore because take a look at the sodium content on those packaged ones!!
But they are delicious. I want to live.

I loooooove Gnocchi! :cool1:

I'm a simple girl, who prefers things very healthy. SO - I load them up with butter and salt. :rolleyes1 They are fantastic! ::yes::

Cook frozen spinach according to package directions. Saute garlic in olive oil, add spinach & cooked gnocchi.

Ok, now that sounded like someting I would want to do.

Gnocchi with bolognese sause. Gnocchi with marinara sauce and then baked with mozzarella cheese. Mmmm

We fry them in butter and onion - add a little salt -- YUMMY!!

Potato Gnocchi are served with meat sauce only. Ricotta gnocchi I also like with meat sauce but DH likes with browned butter and grated cheese.

I've made both but the Ricotta Gnocchi are easier so I make that one the most since I don't roll those out.

I don't think I've ever heard of Ricotta Gnocchi..sounds wonderful...

Easy as could be. Get a 1, 2 or 3 lb container of Ricotta. Use 1 egg for 1 lb, 2eggs for 2 lbs and 3 eggs for 3 lbs. Scrape cheese into a bowl, crack in the appropriate amount of eggs, season with salt and pepper(I do not measure this) mix well. Then take the ricotta container and fill it 3/4 of the way full with flour and mix that gradually into the cheese mixture.

To cook get a big pot of salted water going and a regular metal spoon. Dip the spoon in the water, use it to scrape a bit of dough and plop it into the water, keep going until you have a pot full. If the spoon is wet the dough comes off easier.

Let cook for 2 minutes after you put in the last bit of dough them remove with a slotted spoon or handheld strainer. Keep warm in the oven while you scrape, plop and cook the rest.

They're not "pretty" but it beats the hell out of boiling potatoes, ricing them, laying them out on the counter, mixing with eggs, flour , salt and pepper, kneeding into a dough, rolling into strips, cutting into balls and rolling them off of your fork... LOL

yeah, pan fried are really good.

I've got a great recipe for Gnocchi chicken soup...oh, it's the best...

I'll copy it off the website I got it from a few weeks ago...It's like the new one at Olive garden...yummmmmmmm

1/3 cup olive oil or butter
2 cloves of minced garlic
1 lb. chicken
1/3 cup flour
1/2 carrot shredded
1 stick of celery
1/2 cup fresh chopped spinach
2 1/2 cups whole milk
1 1/2 cup heavy cream
3 chicken bullion cubes
Cracked pepper to taste
17.6 oz. of Gnocchi from Target

On medium heat.
Melt butter in a soup pot, add in the garlic and sautee, add your chicken and cook through out
Add flour and stir in flour and mix well until the flour is cooked into the chicken.
Next add your milk and heavy cream
Then add the veggies(Carrots,Celery,Spinach)
Add three bullion cubes
Add your Gnocchi last it takes 3-4 min. to cook throughout
Mix ingredients well until soup thickens and stirring occasionally. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

I also fry them with little bits of bacon and put them with a tomato basil sauce...oh, now I want some!

Pestocream sauce. AND you can make it an ARUGULA pesto:thumbsup2

Soooo good!

I like it in a spicy marinara with a little cream added and then sprinkled with Parmesan.
