GMC Acadia vs. Buick Enclave Vs. Chevy Traverse vs. Ford Edge

And with all the issues with cars not selling I was expecting a decent discount. Nope. They were all rather expensive so I walked. I want to check out the Honda Pilot.

I don't think they're having any problems selling the Acadia/Enclave/Traverse. I see them EVERYWHERE around here. Especially if they're offering 0% financing. And they are all the same car, same size. The only difference will be little details and options.

I love love love my Acadia. The Enclave is a more luxurious car. I personally didn't want a Buick because I think I'm too young for a Buick. :rotfl: But I fully contend that it is nicer than the Acadia. I found the Acadia to be more sporty on the inside and I just thought that fit better with our family. The seats were more comfortable in the Enclave. And I thought the Acadia was more comfortable than the Traverse.

My final decision came down to the Acadia and the Acura MDX. Now that is a really really nice car. But I wanted captains chairs and the nav system is better in the Acadia. Also the 3rd row and trunk are a littel bigger in the Acadia. The Enclave is a perfect compromise between the two.

Pretty sure the Edge doesn't have a third row seat, unlike the others. And, it doesn't get a very good rating in Consumer Reports. So if you still need the seating capacity of a minivan, one of the others might be a better choice. We test drove all four of these in the past month or so, my fav. is the Enclave, just for styling reasons though. My DH likes the Acura MDX the best - another one in the same category of those you listed.

I always read Consumer Reports, and then check for myself, particularly when they don't like something about a car. It seems they always are critical of some feature on vehicles I've purchased, and DW and I find those are really great . Things like how high the center arm rest is, the shape of the seat, where the radio and ac controls are, how the car handles.
The Acura MDX is very nice, but it really isn't in the same category in my book just because they cost $10,000 to $14,000 more than the other models mentioned.

Not here they aren't...the Enclave and MDX are neck in neck on price...:confused3

I test drove the MDX when I bought mine...

I love my Edge!!!

We had a 7 passenger 2002 Durango that we traded in May for this beautiful, fully loaded, Mickey red, 2010 Edge.

I wanted to downsize from the 7 passenger, but we live on a big hill, so I had to make sure that I had all wheel drive. The Edge fit the bill perfectly! Oh yeah, the bill....that is the only thing, we now have a car payment...but...we got 0% for 72 months, so that wasn't bad.

All the vehicles are beautiful, so good luck with whatever you decide!!

The price is very similar for an equal model. You can get a stripped down version of the Acadia/Enclave and make it cheaper, but it won't have the same features that come standard on the MDX. You really can't go wrong with any of those. It just depends on what features you want.

We bought the Enclave over the Acadia because at the time the Buick had a year longer warranty (4 years vs 3 maybe?) Not sure if that is still true. In 2008, basic Enclave warranty - 4 yr/50,000 miles vs Acadia 3 yr/36,000. We've had trouble with cars before and this was the deciding factor.

This ended up being our deciding factor also.

Plus, I liked the styling better on the Enclave.

But regarding the MDX I will say that the 3rd row is MUCH smaller than the Enclave/Traverse/Acadia 3rd row. It is barely useable. That knocked the MDX off my list as much as I loved it.
