Im going to WDW for Thanksgiving, any suggestions on where to eat for someone with a Wheat/Gluten Allergy? Are the restaurants accommodating? How about during the day for quick lunches? Any feedback will help as this is a new Gluten/Wheat allergy and I am so nervous to eat..Any Gluten free restaurants that cater to us? Thank you for all your help.

hope that you get your answers..
I moved it here to get some feedback..

The restaurants are super accommodating. When and if you make reservations, the system will ask you if anyone in your party has food allergies. Answer the question and you'll be taken care of when you sit down for your meal. Usually, the chef comes out personally to speak with the person who has the allergy, and goes over what's available for him/her.

My wife has an intolerance to gluten and we're planning a 2014 trip right now. We've decided on where we want to eat, and we Googled the restaurants plus gluten free to see what they have offered in the past. Example: Mama Melrose Disney World gluten free. If you Google that, you'll see Mama Melrose has some options available.

Good luck! If you ever have any specific questions, call Disney World customer service and see what they have to say.

From everything I've read Disney is one of the most accommodating and knowledgeable places for gluten free dining. I'm super excited for my upcoming trip as it will be my first time at Disney since being diagnosed Celiac. Contact the special diet line at Disney and they can email you some helpful information.

WDW table service restaurants do a great job on gluten free. My son went about a month after being diagnosed with Celiac disease and was in 7th heaven with all the choices and how the chefs went out of their way to provide fabulous desserts, etc.

But the counter service locations . . . aren't a breeze. Definitely contact special diets and get the names of the counter service locations designated as allergy friendly for the dates you will be visiting. But realize that the choices are somewhat limited -- you will get tired of GF chicken strips and hamburgers on a gluten free bun. And it might seem to take forever. At most counter service locations in the parks you first have to figure out where to go to speak with a manager, then wait to have your food specially prepared. The one quick and easy counter service location for gluten free was the food court type area in The Land in Epcot. Multiple choices that were fine right off of the serving line. And not the usual choices from elsewhere at WDW. Also had good luck at Art of Animation's resort food court.

We found the most choices for a single meal and the overall quickest/most satisfying locations at some of the buffets or family style meal locations - Crystal Palace and Liberty Tree Tavern in MK, 1900 Park Fair in the Grand Floridian, Tusker House in AK, Garden Grill in Epcot, etc.

You should check out he disABILITIES! board. This is a regular question over there. You'll also find a bunch of dining reviews from people who are gluten free. My signature has a bunch of links to my dining reviews though we're off a heck of a lot more than just gluten and DD13 wasn't always off gluten in most of the earlier reviews.

WDW really is the best place you'll ever travel gluten free.

Personally I don't eat at many restaurants that aren't owned by Disney because they just don't all have the same kinds of standards and alternate products that you'll find at the Disney owned restaurants. The most notable exceptions are Teppan Edo, Raglan Road, and Kouzzina which get amazing reviews.

I've never had to figure out where to go to speak to a manager at a QS location. I typically go before the meal rush when the place is pretty empty. I ask first CM I see when we get in and they'll direct us to the right place. Sometimes we wait to the side while she gets a manager and sometimes we're handed the allergy book and told to get in line and the manager is called when we get to the front. Asking really does make it easy. If there's no CM anywhere near the door then we just get in line. The exception is Sunshine Seasons in the Land in Epcot where I just walk up to the station with the least number of people and ask to speak with a chef. With only a gluten issue depending on what you want you might not even have to speak with a chef (we've got 3 of us with lists of foods we have to avoid so our situation is much more complicated than yours). Last I heard, the entire grill station is gluten free.

If you want something other than burgers and chicken tenders at CS locations in the parks (the tenders really are amazing so you should try them at least once) then try these locations.
MK: Cosmic Ray's (rotisserie chicken, ribs)
Epcot: Sunshine Seasons (soooo many options like salmon, pork chop, rotisserie chicken, seared tuna, etc), Mexico (tacos on soft corn shells with rice but don't get the chips)
DHS: not sure because we always eat TS here
AK: Flame Tree BBQ (chicken, ribs, pulled pork sandwich) ** make sure to check out the allergy kiosk for more options and to get some good gluten free treats including stuff from Babycakes
DTD: Cooke's of Dublin (to die for fish & chips and onion rings), Babycakes (dedicated gluten free bakery)

My daughter (4 1/2 when we travel) has just been diagnosed as a wheat and nut allergy (not life-threatening, thankfully) and this post has eased my mind to a great degree. It is her first trip to WDW and we are all so excited.

Here are a few blogs that have a lot of info on gluten free dining at disney. The 50′s Prime Time Cafe has gluten free fried chicken that you can get but you have to contact the special diets department about 2 weeks before you go to order it because of the extra time it takes for them to make it. The Garden Grill might be a good place to eat for Thanksgiving. When you make reservations for sit down meals be sure to note allergies.
