Glue burn at ortho - how long does redness last?

Two months ago my 13 year old got braces and the nurse told me that some glue fell on his cheek. He had a mark on his cheek and he said it had hurt when it happened, but I really didn't think too much of it. Well his cheek still has a red spot two months later. I'm a little bothered by this. I'm assuming he was burned? I don't really see a scar - mainly redness. He's going back to the orthodontist tomorrow and I don't know if I should say anything or not. Does anyone have any ideas how long the redness will last? Is it permanent (I sure hope not.) I know that burns can take a very long time to heal.

I was burned on the back of the hand by glue from a hot glue gun once. I had a flat pink spot for months after the blister healed, but now it's the same color as my skin (just a different texture) and not noticeable unless you're looking for it.

Thanks for the reply! It sounds as if burns like that just take a very long time to heal.
