Anyone know if you can take glow necklace and bracelets in carry-on baggage. We are not checking any luggage just using carry ons so I want to know if the glow necklaces will present a problem for TSA inspectors.

:)

I have seen this posted on the transportation board. I believe most people said it wouldn't be a problem especially if they are still sealed in their original packaging. I haven't tried it so I can't really say if that is true. We are taking some but we are checking them.

I'm going to move this over to our transporation board for you. I'm sure the folks over there will have additional input.

You might want to try a search on this. There are those that say they have not had a problem and those that have had to discard them. They do contain a liquid and it might depend on which airport and how good a day the inspector is having.

I would check them if you are checking bags or not carry them on unless I was sure.

Yep I agree, I would say it will just depend on what screener you get and what mood they are in.. I'd pack them in a sturdy cardboard tube and check them if you want to be sure. Granted they still could get crushed and be worthless that way also.

We put them in our luggage, as we had a ton of them and had a bag checked anyway.

I asked a TSA screener, and they said that they are liquid, and would not have been allowed.

I well know that what one TSA person says doesn't mean the next TSA person will agree, but it's worth knowing that at least one TSA person would have said nope.

My guess would be that they would not be allowed, as they are liquid. If they don't allow ice packs, I can't see them allowing glow braceltes and things.

Check and see if they're in a plastic sleeve inside the package. If so, you can usually put them diagonally in your quart bag in your carryon. We did that on our last trip...it was a tight fit, but it worked. And that way it follows the 3-1-1 rule for liquids... :rolleyes1
