GLOW II: The Bounceback... Multiple Meets!!!.. First 1/2 of Sept 2008

Sunshine,
Try the following sites for WW points info dwlz.com her site has points for everything and all the restaurants along with lots of links. webmilhouse.com/pointcalc.php has the points calculator.

Basically the way points go is you get so many points based on your weight. If you wanted to PM me that I can tell you your points you would get per day. Then you get so many flex points per week on top of that.

It basically comes down to every 50 calories is a point but fat and fiber can change it to more or less points. ex: if it is say 100 calories but has 4 grams of fiber and no fat it is 1 point for the extra fiber. Your body processes fiber better so you are awarded for more of it. If it is 75-100 calories with no fiber and 10 grams of fat it is 3 points because of the high fat content with no fiber which is the last and hardest thing for your body to process.

After spending my entire life, fat, extremely fat, and trying various times to lose weight I can tell you that diets do not work. Taking off the pounds is the easy part, the hard part is KEEPING them off.

I loved the WW points at first because it made it so easy but I found that I was spending my points on luxuries instead of staples and I just plain got tired of counting. After doing it so long I sort of still know the point value of most anything though.

The 'perfect' diet is one that you can keep to. I found that it was easier to just eliminate my trigger foods (bread, pizza etc for me) altogether since I could not just eat one. I like meat, eggs and cheese and found a perfect low carb chocolate bar so that is the way I go. I do not count calories at all but just eat lean meat, veggies and a bit of fruit and yogurt (low carb). If I get hungry for something not on my diet I figure out a BETTER alternative, pancakes for instance. I might crave them once a year now and rather than letting the craving become overwhelming and give in I take a couple of apples, dice them up small, add just enough of a FF pancake mix to hold them together, fry them in Pam and use a sugar free syrup.

You can do a search on 'TOPS' and plug in your zip code and it will direct you to a local chapter. Mine costs $24 a year and fifty cents a week with a fine of fifty cents if I have a gain. That is way much cheaper than WW. You can start your own chapter with only 6 members too.

Deb's site is the ultimate for the WW diet and you will find many of my recipes on there, especially in the chocolate section. :rotfl:

I will have to check and see if I have an old WW points thing but doubt I do. I will see if I can get a friend to get me one though.

I am in between yardwork and cooking dinner so please excuse. I cannot afford to be fired. :rolleyes1

Figment, the glory of SB is that you do not have to count anything and you can eat out too. I just eat lean meat, unlimited veggies and some fruits. There are many low carb wraps, yogurts and such to fill in the other spots. I do not lose quickly but it stays off and I continue to slide into just being fat instead of morbidly obese. It is an eating pattern I can live with for the rest of my life. I just Goggle "South Beach" to get my recipes, not that I cook much anymore. I would eat ALL of something and that is not good.

Maybe I'll do that in all my free time this weekend. :rotfl:

I was at an amusement park yesteday and two BBQ's this weekend. So I'm kinda off plan til Tuesday. s'ok. The ice cream yesterday was really good. lol

I'm UP to a 14 and want to get back into my 10's!! Have started walking twice a day, half of my lunch hr, less time to eat!! and then again in the evening - probably 1:15 per day. No results but I keep trying!!!

Tanya- I LOVE that website! Wish I'd found it sooner! Thanks!

Pooch- It can't hurt to keep trying!

I might have been a size ten when I was born and I doubt that even. My goal was to get to size 18 but I started out at 36/56 so that was a realistic mark. I can get into a 20 right now but it looks as if it was spray painted on and I would be scared to eat any beans. I think I am going to go for maybe a size 16, Wherever I can maintain is what I will be happy at.

Pooch, there are results you just do not see them yet. I bet you feel better, breathe better and you will find that your clothes will fit better even without losing a pound, at first. I find that the further I walk away from my kitchen the skinnier I get. :cool1:

Figment, trust me, the healthiest food item you can buy at McD is the ice cream cone. It is only 150 calories, low in fat and filling. Just as long as you do not add a couple of Big Macs and fries with it you will be fine. ::yes::

AKL, I got your email but I will not have a chance to answer it until Wednesday. I have a doctor's appt early in the morning and just about ready to fall into bed. Long day tomorrow. I do hope you can join me on the beach. :lovestruc

:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: You crack me up!

Sounds good Linda!

I marched 2.5 miles today in the Memorial Day parade. So I figure I can eat whatever I want today. Including the cheese sauce for my fries @ Fuddruckers.

I've used fitday.com for tracking calories etc. Is sparks better? I'm thinking about getting ambitious about dieting again.

Is there anyone else here who gets sunburned even if they wear sunblock.
