GLOW II: The Bounceback... Multiple Meets!!!.. First 1/2 of Sept 2008

I upgraded to the DxDDP for a few reasons. One we arrive early and leave late on departure day. So I always have to buy two extra meals minimum there. We wanted to see the HDDR (2 credits or 50 something bucks per person) In the heat last year I bought alot of extra drinks so I figure the extra snack credits will be great.

While we could have spent a little less with just having the OOP expenses for the extra meals, occasional breakfast, HHDR and snacks. I figured it was worth a little bit more for the DxDDP. We can try a few other signature restaurants and not have to worry about what we're going to spend in Disney. At the discount we got with the Bounce Back, we'll definitely get more than our moneys worth.

Try and estimate your OOP expenses and if you'd even spend 2/3 of what the upgrade would cost. I figured once I reached 2/3 it made the DxDDP worthwhile.
I like your way of thinking Nikki :thumbsup2 I may have to rethink my plan... so even signature meals count as 1 or how does it work??? Fill us in :thumbsup2

How come everyone is talking abou the deluxe DP?

OK- got my ressie figured out, now my total is $1119!

Signature meals still count as 2. But you get 3 credits total per day for either TS or CS. I couldn't possibly sit down and eat 3 times a day. Then you would see nothing but the restaurants. So for signature experiences we're eating at Yachtsman, CRT, HDDR and Brown Derby Fantasmic package. We're eating a breakfast or early lunch every day and dinner.

I did leave a couple of random credits open in case my son or husband want breakfast from the food court. My son fell in love with the POP breakfast pizza last year. Kids are a real bargain $10 for the upgrade, adults are 32. So you can do the math and see if it's worth it to you. We're not big CS fans anyways. Sometimes I swore it took longer to stand in line, get the food and find a table than eat at a restaurant.

Aksunshine, I guess we got hungry and started thinking about Disney food. It's better than what I'm having for dinner. popcorn::

I too would love to... but it is either... stay as long as we are or DxDP... I'll stick w/ the longer stay ;)

I'd rather take the longer stay too, but I can't get off from work for more than a week. Plus my son will be in third grade, even taking him out for a whole week is pushing your luck a bit. Last year we got by with 4 days because there was a Jewish holiday that week.

our only kid thats in school will be in 8th next year and looking at this years calendar he may only miss a week next year (we are still waiting to see for sure) but may possibly miss 2 weeks but luckily it'll be the first 2 weeks rather than once he gets in his groove like last year... luckily he got back into the groove pretty fast when he got home

This year (like last) my son will be in for two days that Thursday and Friday and then off for a week. New Jersey never starts school until September. It actually works out pretty well, they're mostly in review mode. Even the teacher admitted it was better to be out in September as there was no risk of missing any standardized testing/preparations for standardized testing.

same here.... first 2 weeks of school best choice for us for our son to miss

ok so glowies... I am about to cancel a Le Cellier Ressie today for September 3rd at 5:35 for a party of 4... anyone need Le C and will that date work for ya... I'll wait till tonight to cancel it just in case... I posted it on dining boards but nobody responded...

I'm surprised nobody took you up on that chance. The dining board is crazy about LeCellier.

My husband misses the really big rib-eye they had back in 2005.

Morning gals :grouphug:

We had to cancel our May trip :guilty: My dad had a mild stroke and is now staying with us :scared1: He is doing well but not well enough for us to leave him anytime soon.. Anyway, DH gave me the okay to book Sept but I think I am going to miss you guys

We are going to be at POR Sept 8 to 13.. Any chance of seeing you guys :flower3:

I can't do no coconut tops :rotfl: I saw em... and just giggled :lmao:

I was thinking about myself in a coconut bikini top :scared1: when I read this and thought you said "saw em... and just jiggled." :rotfl: I don't think there would be enough glowing alcohol in all of Pop Century to make me in a coconut top palatable!

Ok you guys .......

What would you do ??????

Stay with DP Or upgrade to DxDP

what would you pick .. should i upgrade or not

amanda

If it were just me and my dh--upgrade for sure. If my kids were older--maybe. But. . .

I decided to stick with regular... I wanna be doing rides and shows... if I did deluxe there'd be too much time in restaurants...

What she said.

That's actually a really good rule of thumb! I'll curious to see how much extra we end up spending on appetizers. If it's 2/3, at least I'll know for next year, right?

What she said again. Actually, we'll have a couple of extra days left on our AP's at the end of the trip, and dh wants to add 3 more days to our trip. Room only though--he figures we can live off our leftover snacks for at least that long. I tried to talk him into a 3 day free DDP with DxDDP upgrade, but :sad2:.

:grouphug: So sorry to hear about your dad, but glad he's doing better. My dh's dad passed away suddenly just after new year's and his mom moved in with us for a couple of months until we could get her into assisted living (nearly blind and early alzheimer's), so I feel for you. We also had a spring WDW trip in the works that we cancelled, but looking forward to making up for it in September. :woohoo:

We are going to be at POR Sept 8 to 13.. Any chance of seeing you guys :flower3:

Some of us will still be there--we'll be over at POFQ 9/6-9/20 (or beyond?). If we don't manage to see you at a DIS meet somewhere, we'll look for you on the busses and in the pools. :cool2:

Just stopping by to say hello :) Can't wait for September!! Okay, so from here on out I'm seriously going to try to get online & visit the DIS once a day...it's my new goal :)

So, you guys aren't going to believe it!?!?! DH agreed today that we can go back to WDW for the holidays! We are going to stay at the Polynesian Dec. 8-15 and then spend Dec. 15-18 at Universal. We decided a week or so before Christmas because it is still considered value season and it will also be DH's birthday. So excited...WDW in September & December! Can't beat that! :)
