Glitch in the new system - 190 Day ADRs?

Well, all of my ADRs are made, and I managed to get everything we wanted thank to the glitch. I made our last ADR this morning for Cinderella's Royal Table because we are at 180 from it today. I just wanted to report that while I was able to make an ADR for it online, I ended up having to call in because it wanted me to pay in full with my credit card even though I had logged in with my reservation number that should indicate we're on the Deluxe Dining plan. The CM that I talked to told me not to worry and that the dining plan should show up on my other reservations or the waitstaff will just see it on our KTTW cards when we use them at the meals. I hope we don't have any problems with this once we're there :(

This shouldn't be a problem. We had the same thing happen last year when we booked CRT. Even though I was logged in with my resort reservation (which also included the DP) the system charged my cc for the meal. I had to call and the CM had to cancel our ADR & rebook it for us. There were no problems once there with our DP showing up on our KTTW cards. :)

I can't book beyond the 23rd of Dec even though I have a reservation for the 22nd of December. So do you mean 180 plus ten?

The 23rd of December is 190 days from today, that's why it's the latest date that you can make your reservations for right now. Tomorrow December 24th will open up, and so on.

If you want to wait for your 180 so you can book all 10 days at once, you can first book on 6/25. If you wait you can book all of your reservations at once. Otherwise, you'll have to log on each day and book that days reservations.

It's called a glitch because the current publicized method is 180+10, meaning you can book up to 10 days of ADRs at 180days before check-in. This totals 190days in, um total, but not the same meaning that we've been seeing here.

Here, you can book up to 190days out before dining date, no matter of check-in. You can even enter a fake resort confirmation and book those extra days (which, therefore allows off-site guests to do the same).

Compared with on the phone (or using the "old" system for CRT and dinner shows) which only allow you 180+10. It will continue to be considered a glitch until it's either fixed, or Disney states their intentions to be a pure 190 instead of 180+10.

As far as your actual check-in date reverting back to one within 180, that's interesting (it didn't used to do that). It seems like a temporary fix for a bigger problem though. (And not a very good fix, I might add).

I do want to say that, since it's been going on this long, I suspect Disney will come up with some spin, namely an unannounced trial period or a method to get more people to beta test ;). You'd think they'd train their phone CMs on it, but heh, phone CM training is laughable at best.

Thanks! I got to thinking that maybe the glitch was that you can enter those fudged reservation numbers and dates and it would still work as opposed to entering "real" info like I did and getting it to work like it is supposed to. Just glad I got what I wanted and don't have to worry though I may still give a call just to confirm.

Thought this would interest those of you following this closely. I made my dining reservations about two days "early" (e.g. 182 days out), thanks to the advice on this board. Everything went through fine, and my 180 mark is now almost three weeks behind me, and everything is still there.

I just went on to try and make an additional reservation (which worked fine). When I was done, a link to a survey came up, and I took it. It asked general questions about my experiences with the website, and the new dining reservation system, but it also asked when I made my dining reservations, and one of the choices (the last one) was "more than six months early."

Make of that what you will! I suppose they could be referring to the 180+10 scenario, but also potentially the "glitch" or "change which we have not yet announced." :)

That is the second place that there has been wording that made it look like it was more than 180 days from now on. Interesting, very interesting.

This 190 days is really confusing people!!

Today, Wednesday, June 16
make reservations for
Thursday, December 23.

Tomorrow, Thursday, June 17
make reservations for
Friday, December 24.

I am just trying to help!!

cafeen .. thank you very much!!!

i tried calling disney dining to see what needed to be reserved at 180 days and what could be reserved with the 180+10 and didn't get as good an answer as what you just gave, so i really appreciate it!!!

i'm wanting reservations at CRT and at the spirit of aloha, so i guess, for now, i'll be making reservations for somewhere else for those days .. just in case.

NP, glad I could help.

To make things a bit clearer:
Officially all dining experiences may be booked at either:

  1. 180 days before date of dining
  2. Disney Resort Guests may book up for up to 10 days of reservations starting 180 days before check-in.

Now, as to what's actually happening...

  1. Over the phone it's easy, as the phone CMs stick to the official policies above
  2. Online it gets tricky.
    • All dining reservations except CRT and the Dinner shows are available at 190 days using the details in this thread.
    • CRT and the Dinner shows should be available using the 180+10 for resort guests
    • There is another glitch with the v1 site (more so an integration issue) that is no longer allowing 180+10 to be booked for CRT and dinner shows for at least some people.

made reservations this morning, using the 190 day 'glitch' .. got up early, so i was clicking the button from 5:58 til it excepted the new date. it was really frustrating how many places did not have any times already!!! they must be saving them for the CP :confused3

luckily, i was able to switch the 2 places i really wanted, so the one i wanted for lunch, i now have for dinner.

btw .. so much faster booking dining reservations online than calling!!!

I am not sure if this belongs here or the club level thread but I have a club level stay booked and the 180/190 day window will be opening up soon. I assume that the concierge staff will book using the old rules but does anyone have experience with this recently? as I have one hard to get ADR that I may just book myself at 190 days if this 'glitch' is still going on?

Funny you should mention this. We've got a CL stay booked for the holidays, but I started booking my own at 190 days. So far, I booked 12/23 and 12/24, and I intend to do the other days as they come available. In my experience, the CL staff do bookings at 180 days out of your check-in date (that's what they did for our Dec. 2009 and July 2010 stays) and they do them all at once, so for hot ticket places, I'm just doing them now. It's pretty easy with the online system, and I really don't mind.

Thanks this is what I figured, I have no problem booking online I have done it for all my past trips and it has been very easy so I will just book the big ticket ones myself and leave the rest to the CL staff:woohoo:

I've skimmed this thread and I'm thoroughly confused. I get that some folks have been able to make reservations at 190 days one day at a time and that if you want to make them all at once, wait for 180. But here's my question. I've been logging onto the sight to practice with the dining reservation system. (I know, I know) Anyway, it will let me see dates for reservations until 12/26 (as of this morning) but when it asks me for my confirmation # it will only let me see dates up til 12/16. (My check in date is actually 12/27) So I put in 12/16 just for the heck of it, and I was able to have my choice of reservations for 12/26. So theoretically, I could put in a fake check in date and get the 190 day reservation? I would have thought "invalid check in date" or something like that would come up. I'm trying to figure this out to see if I can start making reservations tomorrow or if I have to wait 10 more days. Thanks.

You understand the system perfectly right now.

It won't give you an invalid check in date message because as of right now it isn't even checking for valid confirmation numbers. Bogus confirmation numbers are also enabling people to reserve at 190 days out.
