Hi all! :goodvibes

I've been reading how the table service has declined for many who dine on the DDP. I was wondering if anyone has ever given a supplemental tip to their server upon being seated to see if better service would be provided during the meal. Anyone tried this?

I guess this would be similar to something I've read about on the DCL boards. Some folks tip their stateroom stewards upfront (or at least a portion of the tip is given upfront) in hopes of receiving excellent service during their cruise.:thumbsup2

I've read a bunch of reports over the years regarding that tactic. From what I could tell, providing a gratuity in advance didn't result in better or worse service in most mass-market circumstances. Where doing so really does have impact is in very high-end circumstances, as it serves as a clarion that the patron will shtup the server with even more money for every bit of service.
