I'm sitting here watching Oprah with Tim and Faith and packing my Matt's goodybox for valentines day. I can't really send anything of the romantic nature to him naturally but I have had a little photobook made of our fav photos that he can stick in his pocket and I burned him a cd of some of "our" songs. While doing all this, I'm thinking about our most romantic valentine's.

It was 4 years ago, our 1st valentine. We just started to official date as a couple and still long distance. The last week of January Matt sent me a plane ticket to come see him. Talk about suprise :teeth: So he picks me up at the airport with a dozen roses and some balloons. I just started to cry seeing him so handsome there waiting for me. The next day he took me to see his room in the barracks and when I opened the door there was a trail of hershey kisses from the door to the bed and on the bed the kisses formed a heart with a beautiful necklace in the middle of and a mushy card. I hadn't ever thought of something so sweet and romantic from this "hard" army man.

The next valentine's day we were married but he was preparing to deploy but determined to take me to dinner. We got all dressed up and fell asleep in the booth waiting on our food :rotfl:

The next valentines ('04) Matt has just came back from Iraq and I rented a really nice hotel suite set up the candles and chocolates and everything. What happened? We fell asleep on the couch about 10 mins into being there :rotfl2: Slept all through the night and most of the next day.

We weren't together last v-day or this one but it doesn't lessen the love any. He is still my great love.

Now I want to hear your romantic valentine or non valentine stories. :cheer2: :cheer2:

 Nice story. Sadly my DH doesn't know what 'romance' means, even though I've tried to teach him. Gets a bit old at times, wish he'd surprise me or do anything...even just tell me I look nice one day. Men reading, go tell your wife/s.o. she's beautiful, she'll be happy and you'll definetly be happy.

Dh did that once for me with the hershey kisses through the room to the bed, that was wonderful :)

Honestly to me its about the little things. When he brought me my MP3 player to the gym yesterday to me that was so romantic. It may sound stupid to some but he went out of his way to do something for me that he knew I needed. I thought it was great!

He surprised me 2 years ago with a beautiful necklace for Valentines day we had decided to not give gifts since we were going to Hawaii the following week but he did anyway :)

He takes care of the kids for me every Saturday during the summer so I can go to breakfast and then Yard Saling with my friend :) I come home and the house is clean and the laundry done.

He is a very sweet man and I love him with all my heart!

My most romantic valentine's day was in 2004. The guy I was dating took me to an expensive hotel in D.C. for two nights. We ate at the best restaurants and walked hand in hand to all of the museums. But the most romantic thing ever was one evening we walked to the monument in D.C. and he grabs me, starts singing the sweetest song, and we slow danced all around the bottom of the monument during sunset. There was no one around and it was perfect.

My husband (who was low on funds) made our kids treehouse into our "love shack" He snuck from the house matresses (from couch), sleeping bags, camping gear, grill, table chairs, our wedding glasses. The treefort is way in the woods so I couldn't see it from the house. (It is also 14 feet in the air) He drove me down in our truck, right up to the path. He had set up a canopy with at table and chairs, tablecloth, flowers the whole works!! We had candlelight, a fire, music and he cooked me dinner and breakfast!! WOW! The kids were jealous when they found out we slept in their treefort so we all stayed in it the next night too!! This was for our 18th year anniversary, How can he top that, this year is our 20th!!
