Give Me Reviews For Boma's & Chef Mickey's

I need the good, the bad and the ugly for these two restaurants!

DH and I ate at Boma on our last trip (sans the kids).
There was no ugly
The bad: It was a little loud and crowded, however, Dh and I were sitting in the corner near a window so we didn't really notice. Also, there was more then enough room to move between the a tables, and thefood "pods" never seemed crowded.
The good:Service was great. The food was wonderful. There were good choices for the picky eater, and there were lots of chioces for the more adventurous eater (like me and DH). Everything was cooked well, nothing was dried out or overdone like you might find in a buffet. The server suggested an excellent wine.
The wonderful (you didn't ask, but here it is anyway): THE DESSERTS!!!!!!!!

We ate at Chef mickey's about 4 years ago for breakfast. It was a lot of fun. The food was pretty standard breakfast fare though....nothing to write home about. To me it was more about the characters and atmosphere there.

Magic Mom just about summed it up for me, too.

Boma: great atmosphere and wonderful food for both the adventurous and "meat and potatoes" eater. The soups alone are worth the price of dinner. Loved the breakfast, too.

Chef Mickeys: Food is good, but it really is all about the characters.

We've eaten at both, for both breakfast and dinner. I have to say that we kind of feel BTDT (been there, done that) about Chef Mickeys, but are definitely incorporating Boma into our plans for our next trip. It truly has become our "must do" restaurant.

The negative on both restaurants is the noise and crowd factor, but that's pretty much par for the course for a popular Disney restaurant.

Boma breakfast, amazing and out of this world

Chef Mickeys dinner was terrible, great character interaction but the food was blech!

I have tried Boma twice now (dinner last July and breakfast three weeks ago). I really don't see what the big deal is. The atmosphere is fabulous -- and that is why we bought into AKV. I enjoyed the soups and desserts at dinner, and the juice at breakfast was wonderful. We weren't impressed with our dinner trip, but thought we must have missed something because SO many DISers like it...so I booked it for breakfast on the last trip. To me, it wasn't any better or any worse than the average breakfast buffet at a nice restaurant. Higher quality than Shoney's, but nothing special. If I am going to spend a TS credit on a buffet, I would MUCH rather eat at Biergarten!

I consider myself a very adventurous eater, so I am not making a review because there were "weird" foods. I will probably eat there again, but only out of convenience because it is my home resort with DVC. I can't imagine making the trek out to AKL just for the meal if I wasn't staying there.

I had canceled our Boma ADR in favor of CA Grill for our last trip, but DBF and I went to AKL just to see the Lodge, etc. While we were there, he said, "Something smells good!" I told him it was Boma, and he asked if we could eat there. I managed to get us in as a walk up, and even though he's a *very* picky eater, it turned out to be one of his favorite meals on the trip! I had actually canceled it because I was afraid he just wouldn't like it.

Boma is one of my favorite restaurants at Disney, and I think you'll definitely enjoy it. It has something for everyone!

We have eaten at Boma 4 times, the latest being this past Wed. We have gone on 3 different rotations so have tasted most everything they have to offer. DD and I love it and it is in the running for our favorite restaurant. DH is not so much of a fan. He is more of a steak and potatoes kind of guy. He likes the prime rib there but not much of the other offerings. Our service has always been really good. The buffet has always been fresh and plentiful when we were there even when we go late.
