off topic, but I need ideas to help protect DS large backpack he is using to fly overseas and wearing once he gets to his destination.

He's thinking throwing it in a laundry bag and I'm thinking putting it in a large duffle bag.

Any experience or ideas with this. This is United out of Lansing with connection in Chicago direct to Heathrow.

Putting it in a large duffle is recommended and usually required by the airlines due to all the hanging straps and frame on backpacks.

(I'm assuming you are referring to a large hiking backpack).

required by the airlines? Maybe I better call United.

Thanks.

notursula,

you are awesome! Thank you.

That's looks good.

Not necessarily a duffle is required, but some type of cover or bag is required to keep the straps, buckles, and frame from damage or damaging other luggage.
