You know what? I don't think we should worry about the rain. For one, it will keep the locals away. For two, we won't be sweating. I actually don't mind gloomy days. As long as I get a couple of days of sun to lay out by the pool I'll be okay. Sure, I'm worried about those tropical storms but not enough to let it ruin my trip. We'll still have a wonderful time no matter what!

UGH the weather...I really hope it doesn't spoil this wonderful trip you have planned....can't wait to hear about Via Napoli...I may have to consider that for next Oct...though living in the Chicago burbs...other pizza is hard to rank up there

Too funny about Matthew! I'm sure authentic Italian pizza is very different than Chicago pizza - don't you have deep dish there? We have a brick oven pizza place around here and it's so different than the regular pizza - you just can't compare the two. It's like eating two entirely different types of food.

I agree, but with only four days (two of them partial days) I REALLY don't want another washout... but watching the weather isn't going to change anything either... As long as it doesn't effect our travel days we should be OK. But you know I'm going to keep watching it!

Yes deep dish certaintly is Chicago's thing...but I like a good thin crust too don't get me started on hotdogs

I can't believe I'm halfway through my top ten countdown & I'll be on my way to Orlando in five days!! Today is Zach's birthday party so we'll be getting ready for that later on this afternoon. I'll be sure to post some pictures.

The number five thing I'm looking forward to at Disney is:

Tea at the Garden View Lounge (or more specifically the Strawberries & Cream)

The weather is still all over the place. It looks like Matthew is going to break up over the next day or so and not be an issue for Florida. Hurricane Lisa is going to go north and totally miss the US. Accuweather is still saying that another hurricane could form down in the same area as Matthew and head toward Florida late next week.

The various weather websites are all calling for temps in the upper 80s with some periods of rain. Accuweather says we'll have some rain & drizzle on Friday & Saturday. Myforecast.com is forecasting showers late on Saturday and possible t-storms on the other days. Weatherunderground (my favorite) only gives a seven day forecast so they only have Thursday & Friday so far... they are calling for 40% chance of rain or thunderstorms each day.

Laura & I had lunch yesterday and she gave me a very nice Disney gift card for my birthday!! We all know where I'll put that to good use! We also talked about foot ware and rain. I'm glad we talked about it because she hadn't really thought about extra shoes & which shoes would be best in the rain. I don't know how she waited so long, but she's planning to do most of her packing this weekend. Most of my things are packed except for shirts. We have one more day of warm weather today then it will be back to long-sleeves & I'll be able to pack the shirts.

Thanks Jackie - It was a really fun birthday party! Everyone had a great time... except for the two who couldn't find the place and didn't make it!

Hi All!! Where is everyone anyways?? Hope you're all enjoying a nice first weekend of fall! We had Zach's birthday party yesterday. Aside from the two kids who didn't make it because they couldn't find the place , everyone had a great time. One of the kids we actually haven't hear from at all... his mother said he was coming when Zach asked the other day, but they never actually RSVPd to me... so maybe they just didn't make it. The other didn't have my cell number. I did call home a couple times to check for messages... they had called the house but hadn't left any messages. Bummer! Apparently the address didn't work in GPSs because their address is on a private road?? I did note what major road they are off of... oh well... next time I'll include specific directions or a link to them.

The karate studio (or dojo) isn't dark, but the pictures didn't come out very well. It must have something to do with the lighting. There is one mom from Zach's class who is a great photographer and she took a ton of pictures at the party. I'll be sure to post some when she sends them to me.

Today we are having a little family party (with just us and my mom). It should be nice and mellow.

The fourth thing I'm looking forward to at Disney is:

Shopping at DTD!

I don't get to visit DTD very often so I'm really looking forward to this! We missed DTD completely in 2009 and DH & I visited briefly on our date night this past April/May but I've never had a nice chunk of time carved out just for shopping.

Weather time!

Weatherunderground has temps in the upper 80 with 40% chance or shower or t-storm each day (currently only has forecast through Saturday).

Accuweather.com has a similar forecast for Thursday & Friday but more rain for Saturday (predicting 4 hours of precipitation but only .04 inches of rain). They call for up to an inch of rain (6 hours of precipitation) on Sunday.

Meteorologist are still expecting to see a tropical storm develop (Nicole) on the heels of Matthew with a likely path taking it over Florida late next week! We'll see...

Yes - Very quiet! Luckily I didn't miss too much because we were busy too. I saw that you did two updates - very exciting!!

I'll probably pick up a few treats at Goofy's... I have two little boys at home who will be expecting gifts.
