Have others had success in signing up themselves or their families for the Give a Day, Get a Day promotion? Let's list what we have all signed up for.

I have signed my son and I up to help set up a carnival at a miniature horse farm. The carnival is a benefit to help children that have lost one of their parents. This horse farm introduces these children to the therapeutic horses and uses that relationship to help them work through their issues. I was happy that it was something that we could do together. It seems a lot of the opportunities have an 18 or older policy.

What a wonderful thing you and your son are doing! I didn't sign-up.

We're doing clean up at a park. It allowed my 6 year old to participate and I am also planning on taking my 4 1/2 year old too. I understand that she won't get the free ticket but she will be with us as a family when we volunteer.

Angel Food Ministries. DH and I have decided to continue after the commitment and the kids will join us if they are not working on the specific weekend.

i signed up to make patient information packets for newly diagnosed cancer patients with the lukemia and lymphoma foundation. my aunt was diagnosed with lymphoma and i try to help this group out as much as possible.

I'm having a hard time finding something in my area. There's a food pantry over 30 minutes away, but it starts before DS gets out of school. Not sure what we'll end up doing.

I signed up to, walk along and clean up a path.
It was the only in my area (well a half and hour a way) that could be felxible with my school and work schedules.

I signed my DSs and I up for sending out media for Senior Citizens, Inc. I wish they had something a little more interesting, I'm not sure how long my boys can sit still and stuff envelopes.

There are no opportunities in my state! :confused3

Closest one is 40 miles away :(

Does anyone know if we can use or voucher for anything besides and AP or one day ticket? We are going to wdw in Aug and already have 7 day PH!

I think you can also redeem the voucher for a special fast pass that will allow you on a certain amount of rides without waiting. They also have an option where you can redeem it for a special hat that has Disney pins on it. And you can also donate the ticket, which will allow an underprivileged child come to Disney

Not much available in my state. The closest opportunity is 48 miles away, at a time when I'll be at work. The other one is 70 + miles away. And neither take volunteers younger than 15. Maybe they will add some more organizations soon.

I am still looking into different opportunities in my area. One is at a local Science center but I need to get more details to see if it would work with my school schedule.

I probably won't be signing up for anything. The opportunities in my area are multi-day things (think weekly for months on end) and 90% are for 55 and above. :confused3 I didn't see any single day events. I'm very disappointed. I already do tons of volunteer stuff so I don't really want to commit to something for that long of a time span.

Nothing yet. Most seem to be inner city. I don't know the area very well and honestly would make me nervous. I'll keep looking. Nothing I saw listed hours.

We we're lucky I guess... which shocks me because we live in the middle of NOWHERE! We signed up to help a neighboring local volly fire department set ups for its field days. Easy enough for my family, DH is volley chief for our local FD so my kids have lots of practice setting up for events!

Spending 3 hours helping cleaning up a dog park (spreading mulch, clearing vines, etc). Only 5 miles away from home.

everything i saw said 0 volunteers needed so im gonna keep looking.....going to try to get my friends to come too, we'll see.

I signed up to volunteer at our local Community Food Bank. I will be sorting food and arranging the pantry as well as creating food bags that will be distributed in the community.

The closest volunteer opportunity for me would be 45 miles away..I'm disappointed. My intention was to donate the ticket/s since we have
APs.
