That is very funny! And don't get me wrong, I love the 'face characters', and would love to see Giselle (as would my DD) and that pirate who was played by Johnny Depp I was just poking fun at the pressure to live up to such beauty...the agony, the pain, the pressure!! But from the pictures I have seen here, they are doing pretty good!

Technically Giselle isn't an actual "princess", and (according to Disney) she isn't considered part of the official Disney Princess line like Snow White, Cinderella, etc are.

Technically you're right, she isn't a princess and even says so in the movie. And it's true that she's currently not included on the official Disney Princess site. But all of her merchandise is being released under the official Disney Princess banner (if you visit the Disney Princess section of disneyshopping.com you'll see that she's smack dab in the middle of the other princesses) so I suspect that if her sales are large enough she'll be added to the official site soon.

BTW: It's always annoyed me slightly that Mulan is listed as a Disney Princess. She's not the daughter of royalty, nor does she marry a prince. But I digress...

Just my 2 cents.. but I would much rather have my girls admire Mulan than some of the other Princesses-- I mean, come on -- she goes to war to defend her family's honor... it sure beats swooning over some Prince on a horse! (or worst case-- Prince Eric on a boat!)

Ok- I guess Belle is ok too...

but my DD4 loves the girliest of them all-- Giselle and Snow White!

ME TOO!!! I love Mulan, but she is not a princess! She gets to be the Emperor's counsel at the end tho. At least she earned her role! I actually find her to be one of the better role models in any of the Disney movies. My DD4 loves her. We have to go see Mulan whenever weren't at WDW. But I digress, too.....

Oh gosh-- Don't get me wrong-- I love Disney and grew up LOVING Snow White.. but I have to defend MULAN-- I think she is just such a great Character for girls! And my kids are 1/4 Asian, so just love that too!

But I do let my DD4 dress up in a full gown (in public even!) so I am not a total bah humbug!
