Girls Trip Revisited-- Final Day (Part 3) -- August 14

That doesn't look familiar to me, either. Between this and Glenn's secret entrance to AK, this has been an educational week!

I'm glad we could expand your horizons. :)

Truer words were never spoken. ::yes::

It just confirms that you are never too old for Disney.

You can always count on the Haunted Mansion to load fairly quickly. Except when it doesn't.

Absolutely. But they really need to do something about getting into that line after leaving the room...it's a disaster waiting to happen.

::yes::

Agree

You should have said you had to hold her shoulder because her lap bar didn't work. :scared1::rotfl2:

She probably would have hit me with her camera. :rotfl2:

Someday I'll get to Be Our Guest. It looks pretty cool.

It really is...they did a great job.

Does that kind of peer pressure work?

Nope!

Holy cow, it'll take all week to eat those!

When I left, Cayley had still not finished that sucker.

That's great that you found the pictures. That's so interesting about the hidden courtyard in Pirates. I wonder if there is a way to get there without waiting in line...

I think if you walk back to the restrooms that are back there you might be able to. I never knew there were bathrooms back there until this trip. :faint:

The new Rapunzel area looks so pretty! While it's disappointing they couldn't find a spot for her to meet somewhere in there, I'm glad they went all out for this new area.

It really is a pretty area. You would think to "spread out" the princesses they would have her there.

Congrats to your son!! How exciting!

Thank you very much; hard to believe they got married four weeks ago already.

Looks like a pretty great start to the trip! I'm glad we got to meet, albeit briefly :)

I'm glad we got to meet briefly too. Hopefully we can rectify that and make it longer on a future trip.

Glad to see you found the pics.
I have never seen the courtyard at POTC either.
I cannot wait to eat BOG.
Great you saw Anita and Marc.
All caught up.

You and Vinny are going to love BOG.

I am so glad I got to meet Anita and Marc. I would run into them several times on the trip.

Yay - I'm happy you found your pictures, you must have been so pleased when you found them

Extremely pleased.

The girls are so adorable - lovely big smiles and they look like they are having a ball

They are...and all four of them are sweeties.

Thanks for sharing the wedding vids - just lovely :)

Thank you...I love watching them...brings back wonderful memories of a beautiful day.

What a great day at MK!

It really was.

How was the food at BoG?? I am so excited to eat there in October and although people keep saying it's good, I'm interested in your opinions!

This is the second time I've eaten there and I loved it. The soup is out of this world (not too salty like a lot of French Onion soups are); I had the new chicken dish that they are putting on the menu. Although I wasn't a huge fan of the sauce (I'm not a "saucy" girl), it was juicy and tender and I really enjoyed it.

The rooms at the Beach Club look so pretty! What was it that you didn't like about it? Anything specific? I know, I know...nothing is CSR :thumbsup2 That's how I feel at least! We liked OKW well enough but...it's just not CSR!

The rooms are very pretty. It was a little difficult to find the room the first couple of times the way it is set up, I had some unfriendly CM's and the bus service was AWFUL! CSR will always hold a special place in my heart, but I have to say OKW has really become my new "home"

Can't wait for more!

I hope to get an update done after responses.

Great pix of Mary's Angels !!!! How was supper at BOG you didn't say ????

Aren't they just the cutest? I loved my supper at BOG for the second time; Mark and I will be eating supper there again in 34 days.

I am finally here! :) Just got back from WDW on Tuesday so I am slowly catching up. I never noticed the claw with one of the green aliens in tomorrowland- too funny!

I'm so glad you are here. Yours is one of the last two TR's I have to catch up on. Have you started a TR for the recent trip? Let me know so I can join. I hadn't noticed the claw until you mentioned it.

Nice day! How can you possibly beat starting with PotC, HM, and BTMRR!!!

Three of the best rides there!

Okay, I must be sleeping when I ride the People Mover! Why do I not remember the claw and the Aliens??? :confused3

I didn't notice it until Rachel mentioned it.

BoG looks like a lot of fun. I can't wait to try it one day!

I think you would really enjoy it.

Your room at Beach Club looks really nice. Reminds me a lot of the décor at OKW. :goodvibes

They are very similar...and since I love the beach, it suits me.

Kathy,

I hope when you made that bet you had a decent wager. :rotfl2: I got a hold of Disney by phone just before 11:00 pm this evening and made the change over to WL and courtyard view. One of these days I will stick with the CSR and not change it.

No you won't. :lmao::lmao::lmao: That will happen when I stay at WL! ;)

P.S. I told Carolyn a sure way to scare you and Mark away is to invite you to join us for dinner at the Whispering Canyon. :lmao::rotfl2: (for what it's worth, with them only offering the skillet I won't be back there anytime soon.) Now to stop hijacking your thread and wait for some more great pictures and reports. ;)

That is one way to become my enemy really quick. Seriously, one of the two worse meals we have ever had at Disney. I do want to try breakfast sometime though.

I LOVE the pictures! The French Onion soup looks DIVINE!!!

I loved it both times.

The New Fantasyland is absolutely ADORABLE!!! the tangled lights are fantastic!!! LOVE following you around on your trips.. the girls are so adorable.

It is great...they did a great job.

Plus i like your gymmies (from the people pusher) What kind are they?!?! I CAN'T WAIT TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those are my Skechers which I absolutely love...comfy and not "fat" like some gym shoes which don't look good on me.

Awesome update!
The HM pics turned out impressively. I don't bother taking pics in there anymore. Just black fuzz. I don't think the happy haunts like me very much. ;)

Thanks; I get a few decent ones every once in awhile.

I really need to get to BoG. Oddly enough, I keep forgetting about it.:confused3

If you ever do, be sure to book at 180 days and have a few back-up dates later in the trip...it really goes fast.

And I tend to gravitate towards the restaurants I know that I am going to enjoy. But I have had 2 new Disney dining experiences this week. Both successful!

I used to be like that two. We have branched out the last two trips which is good for us. What were the 2 new experiences?

Yay for Beach Club!!! :cloud9: Love that place! I do think that the Villas are is need of some love. But I'm not sure I've found another resort that I enjoy more. I'll revisit that thought one day when I finally get to stay at Poly.

The rooms themselves were very nice...I didn't see any issues. I just wish we would have had better bus experience and friendlier CM's. I LOVE the Poly...but no longer in my pocketbook and probably won't be.

Okay, ready for more girls trip fun. :surfweb:

Coming up soon.

great photos of your fun day at MK!
can't wait for our dinner at BOG - doing lunch too!

You are going to love it! So will Megan.

didn't you take photos inside the Rapunzel bathroom :confused3 thought that was the new photo op :rotfl: since its so pretty!

Actually I think I did, but I didn't post the picture.

love taking a break on the people mover :thumbsup2

It's great for resting tired feet.

your room is so pretty, love the soft colors and you had a nice view!
so cute seeing the mama and baby duck swimming!

The ducks were adorable; we saw them almost every day of the trip.

Hi Kathy - I'm finally caught up. :)

:yay::yay::yay: Good to hear.

The little princesses looked so lovely in their dresses (and do I spy a Vera cross body bagg?) for your BoG meal. The Plaza lunch looked amazingly yummy as well. (Of course I notice the food before anything!)

You have a very good idea. Of course you noted the food first...I often do too.

Even at my age I still like a good sword fight! Good job!

Mark won't leave without one.

Congratulations to Andy for his head coach job! You are a proud mom and rightly so! :thumbsup2

A very proud and happy mom.

Have a great Friday!

Thanks; I did...hope you did too and are having a good weekend.

It looks like a great first day in the parks. I'm glad you all got to experience Be Our Guest (again). :thumbsup2

Thanks, Andy. I hope you are having a great vacation.

Yay!!! You found your pictures! Reporting is always so much more fun with photos.
Looks like you are all off to a great, fun start.
Never eaten at Raglan Road. Seems we always hit EoS at DTD. Usually in a hurry to shop til we drop. ;)

It always helps with remembering what you did. :lmao::lmao: We tried Raglan Road a couple of years ago and we really enjoy it; we won't be doing it in August as we are missing EOS!

Ok time for some more pics, Here are a few more before I switched to the "good" camera.

Great pictures, Mary. I forgot that you and I rode together on Mermaid.

Goodness Gracious no one gave me a heads up ! Glad to see you are back Kathy
wedding pictures on page one beautiful...okay going to catch up now :coffee: and nice to meet you Mary
your girls are adorable !

Ruthie

Ruthie, I'm so glad you found me (I have to get back to your TR...I'm slowly catching up...only a few more to go).

Thank you...glad you enjoyed the wedding pictures.

Mary's girls are even more adorable in person. :)

Wonderful pictures…

But then again, I don’t see how you can take a bad picture with any of those young ladies as part of the subject.

I wholeheartedly agree with you there!

This may be one of the most fun pictures I’ve seen in quite some time…

IMG_0753_zpsac5cb280.jpg

Cayley was having a ball.

Aaaaaaaa… the Grey Stuff…

IMG_0772_zpsc5fea7c9.jpg

I’ve heard tell of it, but never actually seen it before now.

We “intended” to try BOG in June, but without a dinner resie and not being able to quite swing the timing for a lunch appearance…
Well, maybe next time.

In order to get the "grey" stuff, you have to have it indicated on your ADR that you are celebrating something or you won't get it. Personally, I'm not impressed with it.

Great BOG pics!! I am a bit disappointed that I couldn't get a dinner reservation, I really wanted to "try the grey stuff."

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Thanks; you really aren't missing anything with the "grey stuff, but I hope you get to eat there soon.

Joining along and all caught up...

Looks like so much fun...

Beautiful pictures of your sons wedding...congratulations!

:welcome::welcome: thank you for joining. We had a blast.

Thank you for the kind words on the wedding pictures.

I was wondering what exactly that "Grey Stuff" is made of :scratchin so I googled it and found a tutorial on Youtube (gotta love google!) It looks super easy to make ..... I might have to try it!

Really, I may have to look it up and try to make it myself as a surprise for hubby.

All caught up! Looks like a super fun trip so far!!

It was.

I don't think I've ever seen that courtyard by Pirates either. Must investigate!!

It's amazing all the trips we've been on we still find "new" stuff that isn't really new.

Ahh...the PeopleMover/TTA... love that ride. Except that dark stretch. That freaks me out a little.

Phew...I thought I was the only one...it freaks me out too.

Can't wait to try Be Our Guest in October!! And be back at the Beach Club! :goodvibes

You will love BOG!

Hi ~ Really, Really, Really glad that you are continuing the story of your "Girls Trip". I have been a long time lurker and read all your reports. Recently, I have been more vocal. My name is Jane, I live in Groveland MA which is about 40 miles north of Boston near the NH/ME border.

:yay::yay::yay: you came out of lurkdom; thank you for reading in the past and now for posting. I am delighted to meet you.

Great report and pictures! Looks like everyone had a good time. I loved Raglan Road and I'm getting hungry looking at those food pics.

It was a good start to the trip...Raglan Road and MK to start...can't beat it.

May I ask what FB group you and Connie (OOPSIE) are referring to? I am always looking for people who love to talk about Disney. I just recently found a DIS group specific to October 13 and am really enjoying following that too.

Send me a PM and we will "friend" on Facebook and I will invite you to the group. It's a place where we can talk about Disney, our personal lives, etc. since we have to keep it mostly to Disney here.

Great wedding pictures and Congratulations on getting a new daughter and Andy's new job.

Hope you have a nice weekend!

Thank you; the wedding was wonderful and I love having a daughter...and my husband spoils her so we shop often. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: And I could not e happier for Andy...he is so deserving.

I'm a busy man and now you have to go and post something else that is going to divert my attention. :rotfl2:

J/K. I already have it saved under subscribed links. Love, love, love your reports. I'm a Kathy Trip Report junkie; I just can't get enough. ;)

You are too funny. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

What were the 2 new experiences?
We went to 'Ohana for dinner. We've done breakfast there many times but never dinner. We had Disney friends in town and they added us onto their ressie. Honestly, we loved it. Visions of pot stickers and banana bread pudding have been dancing in my head since Wednesday.
Thursday evening we tried Portobello's. Very good as well. Arancini, Margherita Pizza, White Chocolate Custard. Definitely another success.

I got up first and took a shower; then Mary and the girls got up. The girls had donuts for breakfast while I went downstairs to get Mary and I some coffee. I was NOT happy the entire week at the BCV because their cappuccino maker was out the entire week and I was stuck drinking that nescacrap stuff they have.

I got back up to the room and the girls were ready to go. We went downstairs to meet Heather and her daughters who were picking us up. We were headed to the Studios for the morning.

It was Star Wars weekend and we were not sure how the crowds were going to be. As we walked in and towards the hand:

I am NOT a Star Wars fan by any means and couldn't tell you who any of these people were.

We headed directly to Toy Story Mania to get fastpasses for later in the day (and it would turn out they weren't good until very late that day) and get in the standby line.

Here we go:

We had a destination already in mind for our next stop. Along the way:

Heather's daughters, Brenna and Kenzie, had never ridden TOT. Their dad told them they wouldn't like it so they never did it. We talked them into trying it. Cayley didn't want to ride so she stayed with Mary while we got in line. Avery, Heather and I tried to get Brenna and Kenzie to realize that they would really like the ride. They were both as nervous as could be. Heather promised them a small treat if they braved it.

Our elevator car arrived and off we went. Not the best "redneck" photo, but here you go:

And what did the girls think? They LOVED it and wanted to know why they had never gone on before? :lmao::lmao::lmao: We were coming back again tonight and it was on the agenda of things to do.
A little shopping in the gift shop:

Then the girls went on Rock & Roll Roller Coaster...well everyone but me, Mary and I think Cayley stayed with us. While they were doing that, we went into the Star Wars tent to do some shopping while we waited for them as Mary was looking for something for her hubby.

The girls did Mr. Mark proud:

After purchases were made (I bought Brenna and Kenzie a little something for their bravery as well and got Mary a little something she was eyeing), we were trying to think of which ride we wanted to do next. And where did we go?

Yep, the girls wanted to go back.

Even Cayley came this time:

Up next, we want to head back to resort and get lunch and swim, but how the heck do we get out of here?

Caught up. I think!

The girls look like they are having a blast on their first day.

Yay for BOG! I really enjoyed it in there. It is very magical indeed!

What - your luggage went to the wrong resort? That stinks.

Glad everyone enjoyed ToT. I would say you second redneck picture turned out much better than your first. :rotfl2: Although I can tell everyone in the entire car is having a great time on that first ride!

Fun updates!

. I was NOT happy the entire week at the BCV because their cappuccino maker was out the entire week and I was stuck drinking that nescacrap stuff they have.

An entire week of Nescacrap as you politely called it is just way too much for one to endure; my sympathies.:faint:

The girls did Mr. Mark proud:

I'm sure Mark was beaming from ear to ear with the girls and the hats; just way too cute. Forgive me on the names, but the one on the lefts Tshirt says it all to well, "cute" and with that snarl she certainly is looking "but dangerous." :rotfl:

Oh Those girls are soooo brave !!! T%oT is definitely NOT on my to do list!!:rotfl2:Loved the Tribute to Mark with the hats !!!:goodvibes

Luvin all the updates and the pics. Oh how I miss the Magical Kingdom

I'm so glad they braved ToT! It is one of those rides that seem scary, but turns out to just be a ton of fun!

I love Star Wars and hope to go during Star Wars weekends sometime. :)

I am all caught up!
I am so glad you found your pictures. I know how that is after losing a SD card on our 2011 cruise. At least my most important pictures weren't on it.

Dinner looks great. We had a preview one in Nov and I am hoping to snag one in March of next year.

Loving that the girls braved ToT!

this is my FAVORITE update!!! teh girls are so amazing!!
TOT is our favorite too!
The place looks dead!! yu just walked right on to TSM!! thats great!!!
i would LOVE to go during star wars weekend!!
AHHHHHHHH Mark Hats!!! perfect!!! So sweet to buy everyone little gifts!!

ok patiently waiting for an update

:surfweb:

I'll save you the trouble :lmao: the last 4 pages at least have had the onging no refrigerators in the resorts debate...I don't even want to go to my PTR right now
;) Fred is home on Tues and Wed we go to POP for 2 nights, there you go you're all caught up with me :thumbsup2

Having a great time with your TR great pictures !

Hehe I love Star Wars! I had never been down here during Star Wars weekends. After the move, I woke up early one Saturday when Tony was leaving for work and said "See ya!!" My first solo park trip. I had so much fun.

One must never turn down a 30 minute wait for TSM. Love the pic of the girls in front of Mr. Potato Head.

Love the ToT pic! I am a death grip gal. On everything. ToT, RnR, Space Mountain, Ellen's Energy Adventure (okay, I'm joking about that one. :rolleyes1) ... I couldn't release my hands if I wanted to.

You gals are definitely having a great time so far!

All caught up !!

Love your BOG photos !! Can't wait to try it out in September !!

All of your photos of those beautiful little girls make me smile. So, so cute !!

Susan

Wow, this TR is going quick. So much fun you all are having.
We enjoyed Raglan Road too. So cool you got to try the Grey stuff even if it wasn't that good. Love all the pictures around BOG
All the young ladies are darling.
Those girls are way braver than me, I so don't do ToT. Go girls :thumbsup2
Can't wait to read more

I would love to go to WDW sometime during SW Weekends!

Surprising your TSMM FPs were for so late in the day, but you only had a 30 minute standby. :confused3

The girls all looked like they were having a great time together. And they posed for a really good tribute to Mr. Mark!!! :goodvibes

I really like your second redneck ToT ride photo...............but were you holding on there Ms. Kathy??? :rolleyes2 ToT will never be my favorite at DHS as long as they have RnR, but I am starting to appreciate it more with each time I ride it!!! ::yes::

Thanks for all the compliments on the girls. They can be very cute at times-others not so much. They are getting ready for a week of "summer school" this week. They are excited to see their friends and teachers again. Here are a few pics and things about them-copied from our PTR.....

On to the stars of the trip!!! Please feel free to skip over the shameless bragging.....

Ms Avery is 9 and going into 4th grade. She is a straight A student who is working 2 grades ahead in English and 1 in math. She likes school but her biggest passion in life (for now) is gymnastics!!

CactusCup2013030.jpg

She had her first competitive season this year and did great. She is the uneven bars state champion and 2nd on beam! She qualified for the Regional Team back in April and had another great meet. Received her highest All Around score ever and placed 3rd in the Region on bars (85 girls total) She is now training for the next level and recently attended camps both at ASU and UCLA

Avery also loves the beach and swimming

Next up is Ms Cayley who is 6 and going into the 2nd grade. She is also a Straight A student and is also working a grade level ahead. She is also a gymnast and just had her first meet

Cayley recently was asked to join team in gymnastics and will have her first competitive season this fall. To say she is excited is an understatement. She had a great time on our recent cruise (until she got sunburned)
