Love the pics Sarah! Now I want to go on a cruise :goodvibes

There is a group of NxStage (the company that makes hubby's home hemodialysis "portable" machine) users that go together on a cruise. They act as an emergency back up for each other if there is cycler/machine issues miles and miles from continental US. Typically, the company provides support and 24 hour switch out cycler services at home and on vacation (but not in Hawaii, Alaska, other countries).
I've read some cruise lines won't allow people on dialysis, only for the mega expensive "dialysis at sea" lines. While using this awesome 60 pound machine makes travel possible, it's not for ALL types of travel without some risk.

Someday it will become common to hemo-dialyze at home, we won't need to pack suitcases full of supplies and haul the machine in it's air carrier (100 pounds!). Just rent one locally. Or at least that's my big idea! :thumbsup2

My Noah is home, frozen peas and meds in use. My chipmunk cheek kiddo.:upsidedow

He had a panic attack when they attempted gas. :sad1:

Hubby argued, got him IV sedation. They weren't going to offer it because they didn't know if it was covered. :confused3
Well gee, let's go ask billing, duh?! Hmm, yep covered for children. Makes me wonder how many kids had to suffer because they didn't think to ask! :headache:

Love the photos, Sarah, especially the cute Halloween pix!

My best friend is totally up for it! She's checking with her husband to make sure that the dates work (and oh, I guess that I should check with work too...). I'm really, really excited about it. We've been friends for over 25 years, and this will be the first time that we've ever travelled somewhere alone together.

Can't wait to get to know you guys!

(Hey, are there still any purple shirts from last year available?)
Welcome to the group!! I hope the dates work out. :wizard: After 25 years, I'd say it's about time for a girls trip. :thumbsup2

As for the purple shirts, Melody/tinkermell was going to see if she could get some for those who missed out last year. PM her and ask if she can add you to her purple shirt list.
And if you are coming to the Meet and Greet party, you'll need to be added to that. Capri/disney-super-mom can give you more details on that if you PM her.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Sarah! I love your photos!!!!!! :) Looks like a fun time. I love the Halloween and Day of the Dead decorations.

Hi all,

First off, my appologies for not responding to private emails people have left for me sooner.

I've been crazy busy ast work and in my personal life.

I've won a whopping 8 contest this year including lots of tickets to various events, an all expense paid trip for two to Elton John's Oscar party (back in Feb), an all inclusive trip for 2 to the Dominican Republic two weeks ago and today, dinner and theatre tickets for 2 to a play I really want to see plus 4 tickets to the Women's Show this weekend. It's been crazy and people are rubbing me for good luck, which is kind of creepy actually. ;)

I actually gave back the Dominican Republic trip, much to the shock of the radio station. Too many bad reviews scared by friend and I away from giving up a weeks vacation to risk it.

I also keep managing to get concert tickets up close to the stage. Which is both amazing and sort of freaky when someone you adore or adored as teen is suddenly starring right at you while you try to sing along. I just freeze and suddenly forget the lyrics and want to look away. If there are any Duran Duran fans here - enjoy. From Oct. 27 Toronto show. http://www.flickr.com/photos/14685812@N02/sets/72157628008842004/show/

I think I finally found some roomates thanks to an email I found in my inbox today. I hope I am not to late to have responded. I also responded for the Meet and Greet party today, hope I am not too late for that as well.

Hopefully with those things squared away, my biggest challenge is getting all the various coloured t-shirts. I must own about 60 black t-shirts and a couple of red ones. We don't get much into colours other than black t-shirts in Toronto and finding many colourful t-shirts in Toronto in the winter, in plus sizes will be tough. LOL As one of my coworkers said to me today - Do they make t-shirts in colours other than black? (she was kidding of course)

I'm really excited. I will be dying for some sun and fun by Feb. Hope you all are keeping well. This is my second attempt to post today, I hope this one actually goes to the thread. *fingers crossed*

Evening ladies. Sorry I haven't been online in a while. I just switched work sections and am adjusting to the new office. Unfortunately with that comes the possibility of bad news that I just received tonight. There is a chance I won't be able to attend the trip this year. :( I have to attend a course that is 4 weeks in length. The exact dates are not up yet but it will either be starting the end of January or the end of February. I'll keep you posted.

Hope everything is going alright for everyone.

steph
I hope that course will end up being in Jan.

I'm sure you can order t-shirts online somewhere if you can't find the colors. I found teal and pink at Walmart and they were only $4. The brand is White Stag. I don't know if that's exclusive to Walmart but they are well made, slightly heavier than a typical T, doesn't look like it will stretch all out of shape after one wearing.
I'm so happy to have a 3 day weekend. Of course it might rain but I'll still find something to do. Most likely I'll bake !

I love the pics Sarah!

Tomorrow I am taking 37 of my students on a field trip to California School for the Deaf, Fremont. I am pretty excited, but a little nervous that the rain is going to ruin the trip. Tomorrow they have Open House and I am hoping that there will be lots of their students running around so my high school kids will get to interact with Deaf high school kids.

Thats it for me tonight! Have a great night ladies!!!

Sara Love the pics and glad that you had fun and hope your BF wasn't in too much pain!!

As for mom and I the trip is a bit up in the air but as of now we are flying down on Monday because of the cruise but for going home I think we have a 7 something flight Sun night out of OC. NOT the last one but I think the one right before it. Not sure if anyone is flying at that time but just thought I would put it out there. IF we still go it will be 5 of us so prob wouldn't be able to share a cab but thought it would be fun to visit with anyone that may be at the airport at that time till our respective flights leave.

Anyway glad that more people might be joining us and Steph I hope it works out that you can come.

Hope he's still doing okay today. Those meds and frozen peas sure do come in handy! I had two teeth pulled and it took me about three days to fully recover.

Hi Heather! Good to see you here again. Sounds like you've been busy getting lucky! With contests that is. LOL

:thumbsup2 Awesome!
I've won a few concert tickets last month, I seem to go in spurts of winning a bunch of stuff and then nothing for a year. Never won a trip though.. that would be fun! Hubby hounds me to buy lottery tickets in hope that I win something big! :rotfl:

I just keep entering contests that interest me. I set aside time for it each week. I hit all the radio stations, TV stations, newspapers and see what's out there and then do a general Google search for contest from my city.

Thanks for the T-shirt info!

I won on a few scratch lottery tickets this year - $25 a few times, $50 twice and $75 once. I've lost at the casino though - grrr!

I never win anything. I enter lots of contests, but I've never won anything of significance...my luck is just saving up for a BIG win I think ;).

Hello and good morning ladies!

I am home now, and think I have caught up with everyone here. I dont have time to respond, but know that I am thinking about all of you guys very much.

I did want to mention that I would like orders in for the purple tee by the end of this month. I believe that I have most of the requests already.
Beth, do you have any of the sizing info from last year's first page planning thread? If so, would it be easy to put it up again, minus the dollar expenses, so we don't into trouble? :rolleyes1 If not then I will be sure to dig out my old info for you again.

THEN........ the next step is to have all orders for the pink tee by January 1st. I still have to do a little homework on that yet. I want to make sure what style tee shirt is definitely available for us in all sizes, from the printing shop we used last year. I am going to try and make it there next week to get the skinny. :thumbsup2

OK... That is all folks. Have a wonderful Saturday. :grouphug:
