Love the pics Sarah! Now I want to go on a cruise
There is a group of NxStage (the company that makes hubby's home hemodialysis "portable" machine) users that go together on a cruise. They act as an emergency back up for each other if there is cycler/machine issues miles and miles from continental US. Typically, the company provides support and 24 hour switch out cycler services at home and on vacation (but not in Hawaii, Alaska, other countries).
I've read some cruise lines won't allow people on dialysis, only for the mega expensive "dialysis at sea" lines.
While using this awesome 60 pound machine makes travel possible, it's not for ALL types of travel without some risk.
Someday it will become common to hemo-dialyze at home, we won't need to pack suitcases full of supplies and haul the machine in it's air carrier (100 pounds!). Just rent one locally. Or at least that's my big idea!
My Noah is home, frozen peas and meds in use. My chipmunk cheek kiddo.
He had a panic attack when they attempted gas.
Hubby argued, got him IV sedation. They weren't going to offer it because they didn't know if it was covered.
Well gee, let's go ask billing, duh?! Hmm, yep covered for children. Makes me wonder how many kids had to suffer because they didn't think to ask!

Flight info
Arriving Wednesday 12:25 pm at SNA
Leaving Monday 8:20 am from SNA
(I'm pretty sure I am the only one flying out of Minneapolis, the only one crazy enough to live here?
Staying at BW PPI with Alison (Sameyeam)
