Good morning, everyone!! It's Monday...again. But the good news is, this is a short week. At least here it is. :)

:santa: Update on the Christmas fun: If you are thinking of doing the Christmas stocking exchange, don't think much longer! Sign-ups close tomorrow morning. If you are interested in the Christmas card exchange, you have until Nov. 23rd to send me your address.

**Important: If you signed up for the stocking exchange and let me know in your PM that you also want to add your address to the card exchange, no problem, I can do that. But I will only do it for those who specifically asked. Otherwise, if you just signed up for the stockings, you need to send me another PM for the cards. Hope that makes sense.... LOL

Just before sign-ups close for the cards, I will post a list of names, and you can always double check to make sure your name is on there.

We ran the furnace for the first time this season, so my house smelled like burned dust this morning. That's gone now, fortunately.
We did that on Saturday. We always open all the windows and turn on the fans, because it smells so bad the first use.
Hope your headache is gone by now!

Lisa, we turned on our heater too for the first time, didn't get the usual burned smell though. We'll be down to 32 tonight. Ugh !
Brr. It was 40, with a real feel of 32, this morning when the kids all left for school.

You could always move to Hawaii....they don't do it there ;)
I don't think Arizona does it either...

It's been a while since I posted but when I do get my ten minute breaks at work I have been reading along.

It has been busy for me. Very stressful at work right now. We are expected to do the paper work of two people with less time to do it. (the agency we have modeled are observations the teachers have 17-20 kids and two hours a day to do paperwork-We have 34 kids and only friday to complete it butout of the last four fridays we had one and a half at trainings) The only thing I learned at trainings is everyone is overwelmed teachers want to quit or step down. It is also our federal review year.

Well onto another stressful situation - but at the end of the month will be better. Me and my son are moving into my moms house at the end of the month (the stressfull part is getting our rooms ready there and packing up here). My mom offered because I am never getting ahead on student loans and credit cards. I was going go buy a mobile home wiht four bedrooms and rent one out but my mom offered for us to move with her because if I ever found a house to buy I would be stuck with my space rent until the mobile home sells (The park i was looking at wouldn't let you rent out your mobile home) and mobile homes are not selling too fast-with house prices being so low.

My AP expired but I think I might get a three day pass at christmas then upgrade on the last day. I have never been to a Magic Morning.
Hi Monica! Good to see you posting. Sorry things have been so stressful. That sucks. Good luck at work, and getting settled into your mom's place.

Hello!

We got back from our cruise yesterday. We had a good time but pretty much just relaxed. DBF wrist hurt him really bad the entire week. :guilty:

I'm super swamped at work but I'll post a mini TR and some pictures soon. :upsidedow

Nope, we don't. It's so confusing when everyone else does, but I'm SO glad we don't. Like we need another hour of heat in the summer!!
No kidding!

Welcome back, Sarah! Glad to hear you had a nice time, although it's a shame his wrist was sore. Looking forward to some fun photos! :)

Hi Sarah!!! I hope the DBF is on the upswing. I really looking forward to seeing some photos. Gotta love those Disney cruises :thumbsup2

It's chilly here. I went to the mall today to pick up something at JC Penney and it was FREAKIN CROWDED! WTH? Monday at 2pm and every register had at least 3 people waiting in line!? Ugh. Oh, AND FREAKIN SANTA CLAUS WAS IN HIS "HOUSE" TAKING PICTURES! Argh! I understand the sales and decorations on Nov 1 - retailers base their annual budget on their Holiday sales. But SANTA? He can frickin stay at the North Freakin Pole until THANKSGIVING! LOL

:rotfl: I'm right there with you Lisa. I was out on Saturday and it was a madhouse. In Chico, there is only one mall and it's by my house. I do all that I can to avoid going by it for the next 6 weeks. The traffic backs up everywhere. As for Santa, I think its early too. We were leaving Walmart as he was making his entrance. They were doing pictures too I think. I do have to say, he was the best Santa I've seen in awhile - real beard and all.

Pretty soon the saying "Christmas in July" is going to be all too true. It just gets earlier and earlier every year.

And it's only going to get worse.... :scared1:

Sure does.

Just a quick Hi and Bye from me .

Counting down the days until February.....

I won't go to the mall on weekends most of the year (Arden Fair is my closest mall and Roseville is my second choice) and after mid November I only go to Arden Fair after they start running the shuttle from Cal Expo. You park over there for free and they run a bus every 10 minutes that drops you off right by the mall entrance. It rocks. I don't mind sitting thru 2 traffic lights when I'm not the one driving. LOL

Hi ladies!

Driving through Tucson right now. Hi Heather!

LIsa and Jodi, I hear you on the Santa already stuff! :sad2:

Drove through El Paso. I waved to Miss Sally, and thought about Dawn again. While I was in Dallas, I kept running into ladies who reminded me of her. Bleach blonde hair, red lip stick and that famous Texas drawl. I found myself a couple of times taking a double take, when I was walking around.

On to happier things.
I signed up for the Christmas exchange. :goodvibes:santa: Let the shopping begin.:santa::cool1:

Mall of America Santa arrives on Thursday.. let the ginormous shopping crowds begin. We will avoid the place on weekends, mid week in the morning isn't too bad until winter breaks start and then we won't even try to go out that way, too crazy!

After the holidays, it will be dead during the week. Ahhhh, that's when we happily stroll inside to take a break from the cabin fever/winter doldrums. Nice to see a bit of green growing in the middle of winter, even if it's small shrubs in planters. :upsidedow

Reading through, seems like this fall has been hard on many of us this year. Hopeful for better times and happier news soon. Meanwhile, here is my own ARGH moment of the season...

Our car (technically it is suppose to be our son's car, but we use it when he's not in class.. and we pay the insurance-- ack! 18 yr old male insurance rate! and gas because the kiddo is not working) died in a lot about a mile from home. While we puttered, looked it over trying to find what was wrong, the salon owner was staring us down with a scowl. Hubby determined there was nothing more we could do and we would need to leave the car there. He popped into the salon, the owner said he would tow it if not moved in a day.. sigh, fine. :headache:

Not sure if legally he could, it's a strip mall with several shops, I'm pretty sure he is renting his space.

Neighbor helped tow it to our place, where it will sit until we can make some plans. Hubby would just like to just get rid of it, we've been car-less before and find it's a workable option. It would be nice to have that insurance premium and gas money back in our budget. ::yes::

DS is already complaining about taking the bus to class. :rolleyes1
My answer.. go to a college closer to home next semester OR go get a job and pay for the repairs. Welcome to the real world kiddo! Enjoy! :thumbsup2
Regardless, the car has to move before we get snow. The clock is ticking.

Mel~ Safe travels on your way home and let us know when you get home safely :thumbsup2. I miss Dawn :guilty:. She was the best at making you smile and cheering you up!

Ughhh....I loathe car troubles!!! Sorry you're having problems and pixie dust that you'll figure it out before the snow starts to fall .

Hi ladies!

Driving through Tucson right now.
Safe travels!! I love road trips.

Mall of America Santa arrives on Thursday.. let the ginormous shopping crowds begin.
I've been to the Mall of America. When we moved from Michigan to here, we drove cross country and MOA was one of the stops we made along the way. It was neat to see, and it's one of those places I always wanted to go to, but not enough to make it an actual destination if you kwim?
Ruben was less impressed. He said it was just another mall, but bigger. :rotfl:

Sorry to hear about the car issues. It sucks. We've been without our minivan since I got back from my birthday trip, about two weeks now. We are waiting on a part to arrive. It's not supposed to be here until Friday, then we still have to take the van into get repaired.
Ruben's been taking the bus to work. The kids have all been walking to the school bus. It's been a challenge though. I'm not sure I could go car -less full time. It's been hard getting groceries and such.

Good luck to you! I hope you find a workable solution fast.

I miss Dawn :guilty:. She was the best at making you smile and cheering you up!
I'm sorry you and Mel have been missing Dawn. I feel like I really missed out not getting to know that part of her. We only chatted a few times. She sure could rock that red lipstick though! :)

We went to Galleria around 1 and it was crowded too!!! Why are people not working?!

I just bought my plane tickets!!!! OMG I just realized that I bought the EARLY flight into OC :rotfl: This is why I shouldn't make purchases this early in the morning! So I guess I am arriving at 7:30 am that Thursday and am flying home Sunday night at 9:20 pm. I am going to go check and see if I can change that inbound flight.....
