Hi Ladies,

Hooray for it being Friday! :yay: I am glad this week is just flying. It helps to keep busy and just have fun stuff to do. It makes the time fly so much better and it keeps things fun. I love my hip hop class. I went last night to a different location, same teacher. My teacher is going out of town next week so he had his friend there, who teaches at another place. He is going to sub next week so he was in class yesterday. I was dancing behind him and at one point, my teacher will split us into 2 groups so we all dance the routine. Well while I was waiting for my group to go, the sub gave me a thumbs up and said: "You did good!" I thought it was surprisingly cool since I've never met the guy. It just feels good to know that I am doing something right! I just want to improve and my teacher knows it. He said: "I can tell you really want to learn and you want to get better." So true! Earlier this week I gave my teach a cool hip hop style Mickey hat I found at the park. He said: "Aww, look at you! You're so cute!" and he hugged me. He loved the hat and put it on and started to do a swagger/dance move. :rotfl: It was really cool.

Tonight I am going out with a bunch of girl friends for one of my friend's b-day. It should be really fun!

Hope you ladies have a good day.

I've been a bad, bad girl!! Well, not really. I'm going to spend a few days at DL with Paula in a week and I found out today I have an extra day off that I didn't think I had. Well ... I couldn't help myself and booked myself for 1 night at the PPH. I've never stayed there and the room works out to be just about how much I saved up to buy a new Dooney earlier this month and I didn't so why the heck not?! Besides, I can do 1 night a lot easier than doing an extended stay. Going to try and work things out with Paula so she can stay too (mostly invoves seeing if I can borrow a family members car so we can carpool home - mine is a little small).

Oopsies. But yay! Gonna try and catch up on what I've missed today now ...

My son got his permit yesterday and I took him to a nice empty parking lot so he could drive. He loved it and did pretty well, although I was holding on to the door handle most of the time. How did 15 years go by so fast? :sad2:
And making use of the "invisible brake"? Hubby nearly put his foot through the floor .. :rolleyes1 Trying not to yell stop, stop, stop! outloud too!

My son is 16, and has his permit, but I just cannot wrap my head around the thought of him driving. I don't want him to grow up.....I'm not ready for all of this. :sad2:
 I resist the urge to ask my 18 yo (college student) if he has done his homework yet, it's hard having them grow up.

My sister in law has her permit.. actually, she just turned 18 and we are looking into getting her license.. OMG. Scary stuff. I just cant bring myself to get her a license. it scares the crap out of me the idea of her riding in the car with other kids.. In MY car.. Or god forbid... MY kids!!
Invisible brake is not working!.. stop stop... eeeeeeeeeeeek!

Back to the beginning lessons, circle the parking lot.. round and round we go! wheeeeeeeeeeeee
My sis pointed out that they become better drivers once they don't have mom/dad/parent like person in the car. Calmer, paying more attention without getting frazzled. hmmm, maybe - but J's car suddenly has some extra scrapes and broken plastic covering the turn signal. :rolleyes1 He admitted to screwing up, getting to close when he bought gas.

The lady at the nail shop put drops of color on the top of a shot glass filled with water and swirled them with a tooth pick and then layed my finger on top. The polish gets on the finger a little bit but she said it was the best way to get a swirled design.

Cool! I was wondering how they did swirls.

Homecoming also here... but my Noah decided not to go to the dance/game. Saturday, the marching band is sponsoring a competition event, Justin (graduated and in college this year, but misses his marching band buddies) plans to go watch.

Hubby and I are off to a local coffee shop this evening, my SIL is playing with her acoustic folk/rock band. She is also part of a 60's rock band, does AIDS/HIV research with the U, volunteers with local agencies/church, and teaches at a local private college...busy lady and a really nice person! I'm so happy for my brother that she is in his life. :lovestruc

Saturday morning we plan to head out to the friends of the library store... annual clearance $2 per bag. They have a BUNCH of manga comic books, one of the few books my 15 yo will read.. stock up time!:thumbsup2

Lots of fun Homecoming festivities this weekend!

I was deciding if I wanted to go see the Lion King 3D tomorrow (by my self, my DBF has to work). I hate going places by my self but I think I'll go becasue I know he won't want to go see it with me. :rotfl:

Why the heck not indeed! :cool1:

Hi Everyone!
I have not read back and I am afraid I have missed a million pages. Just too much going on with cub scouts, marching band, homecoming, IEP meetings, vision therapy etc, and I guess I am looking for a job too. I also love the Lion King Movie, although it was really the first time I realized how tragic those darn disney movies are. I couldn't believe it when the Dad died! Hope everyone has a great weekend. Tracey

Me too! I can vouch for you, if you want me to ;)

See you in November!!

Thank you, of course I want you to! You are the best! I am so excited to see you! Can you believe it...I leave in 6 weeks and will be seeing you in just under 7! Woo Hoo!

Are there any other dates that would work well? Most of my Saturdays are wide open so I am flexible. Throw out some other dates and we'll see what we can make work for everyone.

Yes it is. It looks like they used to have a Disney Store there but sadly it's gone like so many others.

I would love to meet up with you, if we can't get a big group together for that day we could still plan something fun.

Take care everyone!

They just opened up the new Disney Store at Southcenter on August 31st, right? Do you want to meet there sometime on the 22nd? We could do Rainforest Cafe and some shopping? As for the other with the bigger group, should we try January if the weather cooperates? Before the trip but after the holidays? If we plan it now maybe a bunch of people could go?

SarahMay

P.S. I was able to get them to cancel the check and cut a new one which is now safely deposited! Thank goodness!

Well, my weekend isn't off to the best start.
Ruben went out to drop Adam off at the homecoming football game and got a flat tire. He called AAA and they changed it to the spare. So he thought he was good to go, until he realized that the spare, after years of being stored on the van through the snow in Michigan and the heat here, is not any good. He had to call AAA again to come back and tow him home. I guess tomorrow morning, not sure how, he's going to take it to get a new tire.

The bummer part is, I was supposed to meet Melody for breakfast in the morning, but now that's not going to happen. :sad2:
Hopefully this is not an indication of how the entire weekend is going to go.

Also I'm moving to a new section (staying here in CA) this coming month. With this new job I will be staying in CA for at least 3 more years (as long as I'm not medically retired)

steph
Hope everything works out the way you want it to.
Hi Ladies,

.
Hi Rochelle, you should give all of us dance lessons on the ladies trip !:dancer:

You'll love PPH !! Now that I've stayed there I don't want to stay anywhere else. But that was a treat and I'll be back on Harbor on future trips.

Beth, I thought I quoted you but it's not here, anyways all your baking has got me ready to do some this weekend. Pumpkin muffins with cream cheese frosting, brownies, and what ever else I decide to bake !

We're having lots of lightning tonight. I hope we get some rain.

So my dh was up at o dark thirty to go to a lifting practice down in Mukilteo this morning. Why oh why do the kids only want to sleep in on week days?

Morning all!

SarahMay

P.S. We might be going to a corn maze later this afternoon!

Can I play? I would love to join you lovely ladies in Feb. However, I won't know for sure if I can come until December. Gonna as DH for APs for the family (at least me and the kids) for Christmas.

More ladies in the group, I hope everyone comes.. it's going to be a blast with such a BIG group. :yay:

I hope everyone ends up doing the scavenger hunt! That would be so crazy with so many people. And in a fun way, of course.
