Ummm. Just kidding! :laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

I really just wanted to know the story behind Capri's and Heather's experience, cuz I missed out on the joke. :rotfl:

(I could have used January's smilie quite a few times now.)

Good morning!

Have a great day, everyone!! It's a relatively cool day here in Vegas, meaning only in the upper 90's, so we are going out for a drive.

We've been in the 80s this past week (very unusual to have so many days that warm), and supposed to be in the low 90s this weekend. With no AC, I'm trying to figure out where to go to hide from the heat... My guess is that everyone else here is going to do the same, though.
:3dglasses:crowded:popcorn::

Have a great weekend!

Aloha Diva's.
I tried to catch up on the last 15 pages...couldn't make it much beyond that...but wishing you all well!
I'm cracking up at the jungle cruise ride jokes...I totally remember that day and it was hysterical!
Jessica - I'm signed up for the Tink 5k.
Laurie - glad the finger is healing well...now if only the memories heal for the rest of you! :)
I'm working today, a little later....although we are having the wackiest weather. Awoke to rain, thunder & lightning and then hail...LOL For other areas this is nothing special, but for So Calif...its wacky, and I love it!! Tomorrow I'm meeting up with Diva's for a Co D run in the A.M., Billy's at 11 something and lunch after that. I'm looking foward to seeing everybody coming...it's been way too long!
So, I am finally getting back in the swing of things after vacation...its really hard to leave Aloha time, thats for sure. We had a wonderful time. I've been adding new pictures on FB this morning so check it out if you want to see more Aulani pic's. Sigh...it was truly amazing and magical, I still can't believe we were there for the grand opening. I will be very curious what changes are made over the next few months. It is a crazy expensive vacation spot, and as fantastic as the resort itself is, we got more and more annoyed that they charge so much for every little thing. I just can't imagine taking our whole family for an entire week. We learned very quickly to head down the road to eat and shop for stuff. I guess if you are doing DVC, you are saving a ton of money having the kitchen. Parking was $35 per night (valet or self park), umbrella on the beach was $10 bucks, every piece of beach gear was very expensive, snorkeling in the reef was $30 bucks and we had all our own stuff. Movies from the game room were $3 each (although they didn't charge me when I told them I was a CM, DVC was free). They offered all kinds of fun things in the teen spa...make your own scented scrub $6 for the scent and $25 for the scrub, come grab a yogurt at the teen yogurt bar for $6.
Maybe we are just too used to DCL - pay once and enjoy everything else. Anyway...it was a once in a lifetime trip and I'm still so glad we were able to do it and highly recomend it to everybody :)
Have a great weekend!!

Hi Jill! Wish I could meet up with you guys. Have a wonderful day!

Thanks for great write up on the Aulani. Dave and I are seriously considering taking our family there for our 35th anniversary next year. If we go, I'm hoping to rent DVC from somebody. Otherwise, it is just way too expensive, as we'd have to get at least 4 rooms per night. :scared1:

If we went, we were also going to bring our own snorkeling stuff, a couple of raft rings for the lazy river, and now maybe an umbrella. Geesh.....maybe that won't make a difference?

The other resort I really want to go to, is the Grand Wailea in Maui, and that is just as expensive! :scared1: It is supposed to have the most elaborate swimming area in the world! It has seven lava water slides, six water falls, a Tarzan Rope swing, lazy river, swim up bar and the only water elevator in the world. The pics look so cool!!

Oh well...... a girl can dream. :cloud9:

Thanks for the birthday wishes on Facebook, everyone!!

Busy watching Snow White and getting ready for work. Decided to pick up the Disney Princess Designer Collection nailpolish today and I love the sparkly red color for Snow White.

Jill - I'm excited you're going to do the 5K for the Tinker Bell Half Weekend. I'm debating signing up for that on top of the actual Half (and my cousin will regiser for it if I do) but I'm not sure I want topay that much for it since it includes the twilight ticket and I'll have my AP. $99 just seems to push it, but I really want to do that one as well.

Happy Saturday :goodvibes Not much going on here in Chico, just staying inside from the hot weather outside. Madison got back from her week long school camp and in her very pre-teen voice said "It was OK" and that's all I got out of her. :headache: I sure hope this passes.....someday.

I've been getting a kick out of the Jungle Cruise and Capitan EO conversations. Not sure of the story behind it but I sure have been entertained. Sounds like someone had a lot of fun :rotfl:

So I found my first gift exchange item for the M&G. I just have to make sure that I don't start using it before February ;) Still don't have any ideas on what to wear though. Any ideas? I'm so not the creative type.

Jill - I can't wait to see your pictures on FB. The ones so far have been great. My family was going to do Hawaii last Easter but it turned out to be cheaper to do a cruise. Still want to go someday though.

Mel - My dad has been to the Grand Waimea (SP?) and loved it. Somehow he worked out going for a work conference and then got additional days at the reduced rate. So lucky! And congrats on the almost 35 years - that's great.

Laurie - Glad to hear Michayla is doing better. I hope your toe is doing better too.

Beth - Enjoy the cooler weather - 90 degrees in LV at this time of year is great.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! Take care.

Happy Saturday, everyone! Happy Birthday, Jessica!

I need some tips from those of you with kiddos. A friend of mine is taking her boys to DL in October. The boys are 1st and 3rd grade. The oldest has been once before, but it's been 3 or 4 years. The youngest has never been. They are NOT telling the boys WHERE They are going until sometime on the way there (they are driving from St. George UT). I wanted to send a little car care package for each of the boys. Any suggestions for what I can include? I was going to include some snacks, and I'm thinking of sending some trading pins, but I need to get a couple of lanyards - I don't think I have 2 spare ones here that I would part with. LOL They are not doing the Halloween party. I'm open to all ideas! Thanks!

Good luck. We lived in northern Michigan for about 3 years, and we didn't have A/C. Most of the year, it's far more important to have heat! But there was always a few really hot days each summer that were almost unbearable.

Hmm, that's interesting to hear. I wouldn't have thought of those extra charges. The resort we stayed at in Carlsbad charged a per day resort fee, but that included all extras from the little parties they'd do each night, to the beach equipment to the kid's crafts.
For a family of 6 being nickeled and dimed like that can really add up and take the fun out of it if you aren't prepared.
Have a great time tomorrow.

Ooooh, that sounds so nice. I have to go Google that now and dream along with you.

Sounds pretty! You should post a pic. :)

:rotfl: Gotta love teens and pre-teens.

I'll think about it and if anything comes to me, I'll let you know. I will say that if possible, you should wrap each item separately. It makes it seem more fun and special to unwrap each little gift. Takes longer too! lol

Lisa, How about some of those little coloring books that have puzzles, mazes, color by number and so on. Add some nice screw up crayons or makers. Another idea is "Color Wonder" from Crayola. They have lots of Disney themed stuff. For boys you can't go wrong with Toy Story or Cars.

A few years ago, I found some of those funny magnetic faces with iron specks. The kind you can make beards and mustaches with a magnet. Clean and funny. Maybe you can find something like that.

When my grandsons go to DL, they usually are more into light sabors, swords, Car and Toy Story stuff, hats, stuffed characters....

Oooh, how about Mr. Potato Head for the drive. He comes in all kinds of themes.

I will keep my thinking cap on.
