 Did you say cold???? You are someplace where it's actually cold???? I'll be right there!!!

Naw, it was not cold. Just me. I can be freezing in 100 degree weather under the right circumstances. I think it was already over 90 by that time yesterday.

I'm here!! Supposed to be 112 today, 113 tomorrow. It was 117 on Wednesday or Thursday, highest temp. in August here, ever!
:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I am so ready for this heat to be over with, 107 is the high here.
It's only 99 here right now, but we are muggy and sticky, so the real feel is 106. It's nasty out there. To make matter worse my minivan broke down about a mile from the house today, so the girls and I had to hoof it back home in the heat. Not fun. :sad2: Thank goodness it wasn't any further.

I hope Josh enjoys his vacation! And you enjoy your alone time with the kiddos. :goodvibes

Does anyone have an address that anyone wanting to send a card could send it to (maybe we can get her mother's address or something??). Even though most of us can't be there to see her in person, we can certainly show our support with some funny and cheerful cards :thumbsup2

I'm here :cool1: I'm never sad for back to school (I know, bad mom - but holy schmoly is it hard sometimes with so many boys around the house, eating everything, dirtying all the towels, making a mess......... the usual kid stuff :rolleyes1)
SarahMay has an address for anyone wanting to send a little something to Vicki. I never had the opportunity to meet her yet, but I know many others did and I think she'd like to receive something in the mail to let her know she's thought of.
I'm definitely sending a card, and probably a little gift along with it. Just something small, but cute. Not sure what yet.....still looking online for ideas.

As for keeping the house clean and the fridge stocked.....that part I agree with!!!! lol

You are just like my SIL. It can be close to 90 out, and she'll be wearing long sleeve with a thermal underneath. No joke. :sad2:

Thanks Sarah! I am sure that was really hard. I have enjoyed the time I have spent with Vicki. She is really a sweet lady! We have chit chatted since the moment we met at Seatac.

I think I am in the club with Theresa, I am ready for school to start!
3 more days! :cool1::cool1::cool1:
I love my kids, but dang too much togetherness is not good! The bickering, the grocery bill :rotfl: , the can I go here, can I have money for this, yep I am so ready for school, homework, football games & a routine again!
Kaeleb is excited for jr high! He is going to play the baritone. But he is a little freaked out over having 6 different classes.
We are almost done with all of our shopping. Most of it was online! That was so nice!
Our weather here has been crazy! We haven't even made it over 98* & that is so strange! It's usually so much hotter!

Flirting? Shoot, we've slept with 100 degrees, and moved on to 109 already.
I wish I could have stayed indoors all day, but nope. Darn kids wanted to be fed so I had to run out and get more groceries.

LOL! But you live in VEGAS. I live in Sacramento. We have an average of 14 days 100 or over each year. This year we've had THREE. I come from the SF Bay Area. I don't do 100 degrees. LOL I'm quite OK with being a heat wimp.

Tough day...3 hour drive down to see Vicki. She has a trachiotomy, a feeding tube, and is paralized on the left side. She was in and out of sleep the hour I was there. I am not even sure if she recognized me when she did have her eyes open...the scary thing is how her mom says this is such an improvement! I had a chance to talk to her friend Wendy who was also there and says she does have times when she is a lot more lucid, but no one has any idea what kind of recovery she will make. Afterwards I was just drained and since I wasn't too far away I went to the rainforest cafe at Southcenter Mall in Seattle. I figured it was as close to Disney (read my happy place) as I could get at that moment so I had a nice relaxing lunch there before heading home.

Once home I booked our shore excursions for our Disney Cruise. We are doing the Nassau Aquadventure, my dh, dnephew and I are doing parasailing, and I booked a 50 minute swedish massage in an open air cabana on Castaway Cay. I also registered the kids for the Oceaneers Club. I have to admit, working on this has made me a little less depressed, but not much. I just can't believe what Vicki is going through.

Oh, does anyone know if she is signed up for anything? Obviously she will not be coming along on the trip this year so her mom wanted me to make sure she didn't have any roommates lined up or deposits paid on anything yet.

Thanks everyone,
SarahMay

P.S. I did tell her you all were thinking of her.

Hugs, Sarah. And thanks for visiting "for all of us". :cheer2:

Good Monday morning, ladies!!!

It's back to school day here in our household. It's been a busy morning so far, but everyone made it off safe and sound. I still cannot believe my "little girls", Lindsey and Hannah, are going to middle school. And Adam is a junior and Noelle a sophomore in high school this year! Where has the time gone??
I can't wait to hear all about their day. :goodvibes

:rotfl2: Well, that part I won't miss!! lol

Glad to hear your temps have been mild this summer. It's gonna be 108 again today. Sucks for all the kids who go back to school. The classes have A/C but walking between classes it gets hot!

True. But I never get used to it. Actually I don't mind it in "summer". But approaching September and the Fall, I get antsy for it to be over. Same thing when we lived in Michigan, you expect the snow in Dec/Jan/Feb, but by April your itching for warmer weather! lol

Hi Everyone!
Sarah, big hug to you. And a big thank you. I'm sure that Vicki's family appreciated seeing you. I agree with Theresa and Beth. I would love to send a card, if you wouldn't mind PM'ng me the address. Or I guess just remind me of which hospital?

Your trip sounds wonderful, and I know you will enjoy every minute of it. The massage sounds heavenly and if I ever get there, I am going to have one of those too!

I have kids all ready for school. Oldest is finishing up his last week of 12 hour days at band camp. They did 3 weeks this year which seems a little overkill to me, but what do I know. Little one is thrilled that we are leaving town and leaving him to hang out with his favorite Aunt Shelli who believes in endless supplies of chocolate, playdates and sleepovers with all his best friends, and a sleep over with his Uncle Ty and cousins. I think he wishes we would go more often. Personally, I can hardly leave I worry so much until I get on that plane. Then, and only then, I start to relax and realize that it will all be fine and start to enjoy myself. At the end of the trip I always wonder why I didn't make the trip longer:)

Ah, Band Camp. Fond memories there..... This one time..... at Band Camp......

Heck, I want to go stay with Aunt Shelli, too!

I worry, and cry if I'm being honest, each time I'm away from my kids, so I feel your pain. But as you said, in the end they always are fine and you always have fun.

Hello!!Hello!!Hello!!Hello!!Hello!!
I know, right?? :rotfl: It's like a ghost town.

It would be nice to hear some trip chatter. :rolleyes1

Mel, any thing new to share with us on the shirts? Any scrap you can throw us? :rotfl2: (if not that's cool, I'm just over eager, as you well know)

Scavenger hunt team, you're meeting this weekend, right? Have fun!! Good luck planning the hardest, most amazing, challenging hunt this group has ever seen. ;)
Speaking of which, has everyone interested in the hunt, PMed Melody with your "hunt style"?

Everyone who wants a purple castle tee from last year, have you PMed Melody to let her know? If not, what are you waiting for? popcorn::

Meet and Greet committee, how are plans coming along for that? Any chillingly, spooky details you can share with us? :hmghost:
For those going just as guests to the M & G, have you thought about what to wear?? I'm still a bit confused on that, and looking for inspiration!
What about the exchange? Anyone found anything amazingly villainous that they are excited about? :maleficen

Everyone got their rooms booked? What about plane tickets? Any good deals out there or is it too soon? Hopefully everyone can find a price they are happy with. That seems to be more and more of a challenge lately.

Did we decide to replace Carnation Cafe with White Water Snacks for sure on Sunday? Everyone on board with that for a late lunch/early dinner since we'll be doing a character meal for breakfast? Then maybe afterward, those who want to can walk over to Trader Sam's for drinks?

Anyone else as excited as I am to be doing the Fantasmic dessert seating?? :yay:

Who's running their tushes off this weekend at DL?? I know Wendy is. And Jen (grizbuzz). Jess, too. And Sarah. Who else?? And who's going just as a cheering squad? :cheer2: Seems like quite a few Divas will be in the parks! Don't forget I want pics....... ;)

Now, let's see if that works..... popcorn:: :lmao: If not, oh well. Have a great day everyone!! :upsidedow

Hi Beth :wave2:

Having a busy day at work, getting ready for five nights in Palm Springs (I've been complaining about the heat and then decide to go there this time of year? I know, I know...:confused3). But am looking forward to time away and relaxing with Bree, even if we never leave our hotel. :thumbsup2

Have a great day everyone!

I don't think it worked LOL :rolleyes1.

And yes, the scavy hunt committee is meeting this weekend so maybe we will have a few more details to add :cheer2:.

I think most are just busy with back to school, sports, work...etc. I know watching over my teenage daughter takes up most of my free time now-a-days :headache:.

I will be happy once I get through the next month and then maybe my life will get a little more normalcy (maybe!!!). Personally, I'm looking forward to October. I seriously need a break and a drink :drinking1.

Speaking of October, does anyone have an extra Entertainment Card they aren't using. I booked the Ent. Rate at HOJO, but I don't have a card :upsidedow. If anyone has one, I'll be in your debt and I can send it back to you after our October trip :flower3::flower3::flower3:.

Take Care ladies!

Hi Linda! :yay:

Enjoy your time in Palm Springs with Bree!! That sounds fun. Don't worry about the heat, just slip into some sexy swimwear and lounge by the pool with something cool, and fruity. Don't leave the pool area unless it's to go out for dinner someplace fabulous, or to hit the spa. You should be fine that way. :thumbsup2

Me either. ;) :rotfl:

Whoo hoo. Good luck! And have fun.

Tell me about it......these teens years are for the birds!!

Me too!!!! Well, you can have my drink. But I'm looking forward to hanging with you and everyone else, and getting my scare on! :cool1: Oh, and Disneyland too of course. lol

Bummer. No ET card here, but I'm sure someone has one they can loan out.

Take Care ladies!
My replies are in red.

I will be running this weekend! I feel so up-prepared! It's been so hot here and I haven't been running too much at all. Oh well, I'm just going to go out and have fun!

For anyone that ordered a Disneyland brick they finally put in the last of them. My DBF and I made a quick trip down on Saturday to see the one my mom ordered.

Katie, I can send you mine and I don't need it back. PM me your address!

Checking in from work while I can (from my iPhone). I have very little free time between now and when I leave on Thursday. I'm very excited for all that's going on this weekend and I am ready for the 5K. And yup, we of the Scavvy Hunt Comittee will be meeting to make the hunt completely awesome! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone. Hopefully I'll get to see a few other Divas as well.

Unfortunately the trip is getting really stressful for me after inviting my sister, who I got into a huge fight with yesterday. I'm a little worried my mom won't be going now that I've disinvited my sister. It's not turning out anything like how I wanted considering it's my birthday trip. I know I'll have a great time once I'm there, but right now I'm just sad and upset. It doesn't help any that I was practically told that nobody at work wants to work with me. I'm having a bad couple of days.

Today should be better. I'm getting 'pampered' after work. My cousin is using me for her model for her state board exam next week (hair) so she's practicing on me tonight. I'm looking forward to seeing her and to get my hair fixed before I leave.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Does anyone who will be at Disneyland this weekend want to eat with us (me, my mom and my Aunt) at Naples on Saturday evening or Micky's Surf's Up Character Breakfast on Monday morning?

I made the reservations for 6 people just in case.
