Deep breaths. It will be fine. I've had two and they weren't as bad as you think. Keep your eyes closed, listen to headphones if they let you, and mentally take a trip through each land in Disney. That will keep you occupied. It will be over before you know it. Just don't try to eat a Big Mac before the numbness wears off.....it's not a good idea. Trust me. (hey, I was hungry!! lol)

I wish I had head phones. I hate the sound of the drill.

Remember what I told you, keep asking for more novacaine!

He gave me a block so the whole side of my face is numb. The root canal is done I'm just waiting for them to do the mold for the crown and then put the temp on. I've been here since 9:30.

Wow......you're a long ways a way now!!! I imagine January won't get here soon enough for you two........hope settling into your new home goes well.

Hang in there Sarah......dentists are not my thing & getting crowns is a long appt with return trips.......the worst is over....just make sure you start taking tylenol/advil....whatever as soon as you leave...it will help keep the pain level down!!

I'm back at work. That was the longest dentist appointment I've ever had. Almost makes me want to stop eating sweets...almost.

I'm still numb and I didn't really feel any pain during the procedure either but man was it expensive! I had to do their payment option so now I get to pay it off over the next year, interest free.

My monthly dentist payment is more than my monthly Disneyland AP payment.

How bad is a root canal? I'm sitting in the dentist chair freaking out. I've never had one. I don't even like to get my teeth cleaned because it hurts.

I know the appointment is over but not only do I ask for lots of Novacaine - I must have the laughing gas!! Yep - big scardy cat here when it comes to dentist!!

We are finishing up our last day at DL - and can I say how much I hate the heat!!!! Heat index today is 99! Yikes! So spoiled living in the Bay area with our almost perfect weather!

My goal is to do a write up of my impressions of both WDW and DL since I hit them both within 1 1/2 weeks of each other - hopefully I can get that done next week.

Ugh, that is hot! I hate the heat too. It's especially hard on me this time of year when it seems like "summer" should be over since the kids are heading back to school and the stores are filling with Fall/Halloween merchandise.
It's hard to see that and know we still have at least another month and a half of triple digits left.
Yes, I knew it was hot here before we moved here, but I can still complain!

Looking forward to reading your thoughts on DL and WDW.

Glad you made it through your dentist appointment, I was at my dentist at the same time. I have two old root canals that were done like 18 years ago and they have started to re-abscess so that means I've got to get them redone at a specialist. OMG, the cost is ridiculous. I don't go back until October to get one done and the other one I'll get done in January when the dental insurance is replenished so then I can max is out immediately.

Extra Novocaine for me please and bring on the laughing gas. Gosh I really hate the dentist.

Tracey, have fun in Vegas. I'm going next month for almost a week. Woo hoo!
For the first few nights I'm going with my girlfriend, and got a good deal at Treasure Island for $95.00 a night. Then our DHs are flying in, and we are switching over to the Mandalay for a car auction extravaganza, that the DHs adore. You will find the ladies relaxing by the pool, with book and umbrella drink in hand. I am also planning on seeing some Divas while there.

Sarah, Beautiful blanket. I can see you making a baby blanket for your new niece or nephew! Congrats Auntie!

Glad you made it through the dentist Sarah. I wont lie, I am terrified of the dentist. The last time I was there I had a major panic attack and had to be left alone in the dark to calm down for like 10 minutes. Mind you, the little kid in the next was just dandy. I felt pathetic.

Had a great day today! Went to Red Robin for lunch with Paula and we got carried away with talking for forever. It was nice and fun to "meet" her for the first time after all the chatting here and on FB. She had also picked a few things up for me in DL on her last trip (some Vinylmations and park maps) and even passed along a few extra special fastpasses that she didn't use since they are good until the 11th! It was very nice of her and I'll definiely put them to good use (I guess there's no excuse not to try Star Tours for the first time now).

I also took in the recylcing I've been saving up for a short while. It was the last piece of my "piggy bank" money I've been setting aside to gather some extra Disney money. I got $7.44 which isn't too bad for a total of $200! I'm going to my credit union tomorrow to take all my change in and then I'll be all set to start collecting more for the January of February trip.

I'll be leaving for Disneyland in exactly 1 week! It'll be exciting to see a few of you there.

I had a nice phone chat with my mom this morning. Wish she lived closer.

Now I am mentally escaping online, planning trips I'll most likely never take, and looking at houses I'll probably never live in. Sounds a bit depressing, but actually it's fun! Gotta love the internet. And hey, it's better than the laundry that was calling my name.

All my kids went when they were babies but in those days I never took a camera. I do have a nice pic of Sarah with her Mickey ears hat, I think she was around 2. I'll find it later and post it.
I don't ride Star Tours because it made me nauseous but Sarah has me convinced it's much smoother now and I guess I'll give it a try next weekend.
It's 105 here but the clouds came in, I wish it would rain.
I'm heading to the beach on Sunday. Only the 2nd trip this summer. If we lived closer I'd be there all the time. Have a great weekend everyone !

I love Red Robin too! The Strawberry Freckled lemonade is great and bottomless! I don't think I've ever had a bad meal there. The Onion rings are great!

Star Tours seems really smoth to me now and the movie you watch is so much more clear, even with the 3d glasses. I guess there are 4 parts and each of theos 4 parts can have 1 of 4 scenes so each time you go it's a little different.

Carpinteria. It's the only beach we go to, Ventura County beaches are soooooooooo much better than LA beaches !

Happy day off Jess!

Since I have quit working, I have offered to babysit my grandson 2 days a week so he can be "eased in" to daycare (only having to go 2 days a week for now) since my son-in-law found a job working for a TV production company filming a new series here in Portland. And I am taking a tax class 2 days a week for (Laurie, don't look).......



......H&R Block. If I don't have a job by the end of the year I may work for them as a tax preparer or office manager for the season.

Most importantly, I have been invited and decided to join Daisy, Stacie, Vicki, Linda, Cheryl, and Sarah at WDW in November! I haven't told DH yet, but I DID tell him a few months ago that I was going to try to find an inexpenseve way out there for my travel business research, and I DID tell him about this opportunity and that I MIGHT go. So I just need to find the right moment to tell him that I purchased my airfare.

Now I need to go get my homework done, take DH's car in for an oil change, go grocery shopping, and go to class. So much for "time off from work"!

Yes it's true !! I'm going to be a Grandma. It's still sinking in.
I've know since the 11th but I was sworn to secrecy until Nicole and Bill could tell as many of the relatives in person. My Mom didn't find out until Sunday. They are not going to find out if it's a girl or boy, at least that what they said. Who knows though as time goes on.

I love being a Grandma (nana). I'm much to young for the roll but still love it.

As for me. Well I jinxed myself. Guess who is really not feeling good? Yep, went to work today and had to leave early as I was in the bathroom more than I was working. Felt like crud and now my head hurts and I live in about an hour.

It's WAY better! I stopped riding Star Tours several years ago when it really made me motion sick/migrainy. I had to try it Wednesday and it ROCKED. MUCH MUCH MUCH better! I even got a fast pass to ride it again later!
