Hi Everyone!
Just back as of 1:30 am from our short trip to the land. I did manage to keep the surprise from my son and it was funny because at first he wasn't excited at all. I had told him he had to go to bed early the night before so that we could go to Wild Waves and ride the new ride. He cooperated, when I woke him up and told him Disneyland, he just could not get Wild Waves out of his head. I finally told him the new ride wasn't open, and that it was just a ploy to get him to bed, and then finally, he got excited about DL. Anyhow, it was a very hot, very crowded trip, but we did have a wonderful time in the end. Glad to be back in Seattle though!

I will try to get caught up in the next day or so, just wanted to say hi there!

I would love a signature. Are you able to put it in for us or must I look totally inept at how to post it. . I need to know how to post pictures also. I need lessons I tell you lessons. How can it be so hard for me -- my 7 year old grand son comes over to help me. I even have issues with the remote control for cable. yep -- grand son again. Now this one is sad . At the hospital the other day my clothes were put on the stretcher that they take you to the operating room on. I was suppose to turn off the cell but -- sigh -- did not know how. Not sure if they turned it off for me -- I just know it was off and I didnt do it. On the trip to DL last time the gentleman in seat next to me turned it off for me.

I made my daughter take the time to actually show me how to turn off cell, send a text, look at a e-mail, and how to dl an update for cell.

Patty - just let me know what you want and I'll PM you with a step-by-step walkthrough on how to get it in your signature (which will also be how you post photos). I have a thread on the Community board, How to multi-quote in your post, that you should check out. If you can follow that I'll do something similar for you for getting a graphic in your signature/posting photos.

Don't feel bad. I can't send a text either, and I don't know how to turn off my cell. If I'm somewhere like the movies I keep it in the bottom of my purse and hope it doesn't ring. But I do know how to receive one. I have trouble working the DVD player.

Evening all.

Patty I am not sure which exit we took at Mt. St. Helens I just now it was the one that has all the visitor centers on it LOL. And don't feel bad about the electronics. It took me forever to get my mom to use a cell phone, computer etc and she still has issues with them but she is learning and you can too.

Tonight was exciting to say the least. The girls brought up the mail from the street (we have a P.O. Box and don't get mail at our house except for ads and such) and it was from the census bureau. It was a more advanced survey and they said I had to answer it under penalty of law. It was REALLY personal and I didn't want to answer it so I called the number and the guy confirmed it was legit. So I did it over the phone but it took FOREVER and we had to leave for the swim party and I forgot my camera.

I got a few pics but only on my phone. But luckily I bought a copy of the dvd like last year and it was great as always. One of Katy's little buddies mom's took a GREAT pic of Katy and her daughter and framed it and gave it to Katy which was really sweet so we bought her a copy of the dvd as a gift. Both girls received their trophys but neither of them got any extras this year. Katy got the coaches award last year but we missed quite a bit this year so I didn't expect much. But the cool part was Katy and Shelby both qualified to be in the relays at meet of champs.

They have championships at the end of the year that everyone participates in but then only the top 10 in each event get to move on to the meet of champions. Well the girls weren't at championships this year because of our trip but if your times were good enough throughout the year you can still go and the girls that were on the winning relay teams some aren't going and both my girls times were good enough so they get to go.

Katy will be on both the medlay relay and the free relay team and shelby will be on the free relay.

They will get their names on the T-shirt which is kind of a big deal and if they make the top 8 they can ribbon and the top 3 can medal. So I am hoping for the best but it will be fun for them just to be able to do it.

Katy was in it 2 years ago but didn't final.

Anyway so that is my excitement for the day.

I am off to work tomorrow. Hope everyone has a good evening.

Trudy, Is it ok to not feel bad you are like me with anything that takes power to work? Thats so messed-up but glad I am not only one. I do know to fix my pc -- and this one I am good at -- Turn it off wait a min turn it back on and bam fixed .

Kelly, you took the cougar exit first. The second exit prob about 25 miles north on the 5 is the Castle Rock exit. There is a I max there -- few restaurants- a strip mall and the ever needing gas stations. We would have been 6-7 miles south of that. I can tell you the area has really come back. Elk, fish , new trees, grasses, and such. From this side of mountain you can see the valley the mud slide followed into the towns via rivers. All of the sand you saw on the side of the highway was from the mountain. Makes a great glaze for ceramics. We went up right after the area was reopned to public. Area was grey with huge trees all laying down in one direction. There were still no animals, fish or green vegetation anywhere. The burned out cars and trucks were left where they burned. It was so -- sad to see one of the most beautiful places around looking like it did. I never thought it would look as good as it does in my life time. The elk up there are huge. they lottery a few elk tags each season --the meat will fill 2 full size freezers from one elk.

Morning all!

Patty yeah I am amazed at how much that area has come back just from seeing the pictures! I agree it is so sad to see the devestation after the blast. It was so beautiful up there and I had never been before the blast but it looked like a lovely area. But I guess that is nature and everything happens for a reason I guess. But it all grows back eventually as you have seen. I only wish my family could have seen the mountain and the exhibits weren't even open at Johnson ridge I guess because of budget cuts they are only open on the weekends. It was a pretty drive none the less but still dissapointing (all that way and then not able to see anything).

I am off to work again today. I also am finally going to take my pics in. I have over 300 on my camera that I need to sort through because I certainly am not going to print all of those LOL. I meant to take my camera last night but as I mentioned I forgot it so I need to get that done so I have it clear for the next activity that comes up.

At this point the focus is all going to be on school and soccer for awhile and our next adventure is going to be our trip with our friends to DL in November. I am still not sure if they got the same flights as us but I know they are staying in the same hotel and I think they will be there the same days as us so it will be an adventure. They are off to Mexico for a church mission but as soon as they return we are going to sit down and have a pow wow about where we want to go and eat etc during the trip. So that should be fun. There will be 9 of us total so def need to plan it out. I am planning on at least one character meal and one adult night out so looking forward to it!

I am also really looking forward to some relax time as next week is going to be crazy busy for us. Shelby has not been to piano in over a month because she missed while we were on vacation and then her teacher was on vacation so she hasn't been since June and she goes back on Monday then Katy goes back to the doctor to find out about her allergy tests, we have the library program and all three of us have dentist apts as well as soccer practice starts next week and on top of it all they are supposed to practice nightly for meet of champs and then of course the actual meet is both days next weekend.

So it is going to be a BUSY week! We had also hoped to find the time to see Harry Potter somewhere in there but not sure if or when we are going to be able to fit that in LOL.

So much for enjoying the last of summer before school starts LOL.

Ah well such is life. Anywho I am off to work. Hope everyone has a great day and has some fun weekend plans in store!!

Has anyone talked to Jen about the contract? We'd like to get our room reserved and we especially want to make sure we have the conference room; it doesn't sound like the contract has been signed yet... You know me, type A and all
