I don't mind a short shower, drippy drizzle. Clears out the park pretty fast, no lines! woohooo! :yay:
Shhh. Don't tell anyone, but secretly, I always hope for rain! I love the parks when it's raining. :rolleyes1

I am finding this trip to be far too stressful. Too many decisions, too much pressure. Pick a snack. Buy a shirt. Sign up.
Deep breaths. You can do this. ;) Just be cool and calm like me.

WAIT! OMG, I can't think of a snack for the Meet and Greet!!! Aaarrrrghhhh!!!!!!!!! Oh, the insanity! I don't want something too junky, but not too healthy either. I don't want something messy, or too crunchy, or too hard to pack, or too expensive, or too cheap, or....... This is too much pressure. :p

At least it's not orange. Those of us living in the woods might easily find a hunter orange item to wear at Walmart.

Won't be lost in the crowd, that's for sure! :rotfl:
I like the thought of orange. And bright yellow. And brown. And purple. New colors. :thumbsup2 There ya go. Done deal.

I have no teal either!
The funny thing is, I actually love teal. It's pretty and I think it's one of those colors that looks good on everyone.

If you want more details, see me during the ladies trip ;).
Will do! popcorn::

At least, we don't need dyed to match shoes.:)
What a brilliant idea!! :rolleyes1

There would be two adults, 9 students (teenagers though - will they check them?) And do they really check id's? I have never seen them do this.

Pick a side! The running side :rotfl: If Jessica and I book a room, I am sure we can always fit you in if you decide to come.

The half filled up in 6 weeks last year - 6 months the year before. It is already 51% full less than a week in. It is going fast!

I don't know about this year, but in past years, they only checked ID's if you bought your tickets outside of Disneyland (like the grocery store). I guess they figured if you bought them at the Disneyland ticket booth, they already checked your ID. They do not check ID's for minors. I just bought my sons girlfriend one of these tickets at Disneyland and they didn't ask her for her ID, but they did ask me for her name when I bought it and it printed out on the ticket.

If you want to buy the tickets during the ladies trip, you can use my ID, but you will need to have all the students names and I think there is a maximum of 9 or 10 tickets each ID can buy :confused3.

As far as the race, I will book it by Monday if I decide to do it. I'm going to try and run a couple miles this weekend and see how I feel and if I think I can work up to 13 miles. We will see .

You can do it, Katie!! :cool1: :cheer2:

I clicked on the link Wendy posted on Facebook. That's probably as close as I'll ever get to a marathon. :sad2: It's kind of expensive, too. $150. I didn't realize marathons cost so much! :confused3

I wouldn't mind sharing a room, but I'm still on the fence  (bad Katie). Hopefully once I finally decide, they won't be sold out. Plus, I'm not sure what my childcare arrangements for Laila will be and I might have to drag her and one of my teens along to watch her if I do go....

Does anyone know how long before the 1/2 marathons usually sell out. I need to know how much time I have to think about this .

It sells out pretty quick each year.

Yikes! 51% already?!?! I'm undecided about signing up, mostly due to the increse in price. I guess I need to decide soon.

You have 7+ months to train, you can do it!

This website has a lot of info for beginers plus it has a 12 week training program you can follow.

http://www.jeffgalloway.com/training/beginners.html

I actually won a contest on the Disney Parks Blog last week and I (along with 29 other winners) get to train and run 2 miles with Jeff Galloway on Saturday morning through Disneyland and DCA. Plus they said there are many other surprizes in store for us. :thumbsup2

Yep, they cost alot but I think most of them benefit a charity.

All this talk about teal made me check the shirt I was bringing. It is definitely more to the blue side of teal but I really like the shirt so it may have to do. Unless I find something else that I really like!

K, this is quick ... but Jen I am all for sharing a room for the Disneyland Half. I'm officially going to register tonight so I don't accidentally wait too long. I'm all for saying wherever ends up being cheapest, lol.

Oh, and Okay Theresa Queen of Google, let me qualify that with No. Where. Cheap. I am frugal, as you know.
I did find an especially gruesome speciman with some kind of lacey do-hicky neckline on clearance, but it was a 4X...and even my frugal soul could not convince me that it would truly work for me. It also had no natural fabric anywhere in it.

Since you called me the Queen, here you go - teal and frugal (and pima cotton):

Bayou Teal to boot!

Hmm, the only teal shirt I have is for when I dye my hair. Old, loose and stained with red/brown (my fave hair colors).

A little tip, go red..your husband/S.O. will love it. ;)

No lime green at Macy's, not online anyway.. teal, no problem. Okay, what is the deal with plus size women's shirts with "bat wing sleeves"? My arm flab isn't too bad, but I know a lot of women who call it "bat wings" for a reason.
Oh ever so slender plus women clothing designer, excuse me, we may already have "issues" in that area. Please don't add sleeves to match. :sad2:

Hee heee... Macy's is copying a look that JcPenny's did a few years ago.

I have this exact shirt (short sleeves) that I bought on clearance for less than $10. Macy's wants $40 + :rotfl2:

Noooooo!!!! Orange and brown are awful - and I look terrible in yellow :scared1:

hmmm....I will have to figure this out quick. Now, are you talking about buying them off site or at the park? Do they sell those promo tickets at the gate? If I am stringing this together correctly, I would buy 9 "student" tickets at the grocery store and then have you help me get the last 2 for the adults at the ticket booth - all for $114 each, right?

As for running - Wendy, Jessica, and I will be there to encourage you the whole way.

Yikes! 51% already?!?! I'm undecided about signing up, mostly due to the increse in price. I guess I need to decide soon.
I know! Two years ago I paid $120 or so. I really don't think the value is all that great, but I sure like the atmosphere. As long as people are buying them up in a hurry, Disney is not going to back down on the price. :headache:

Woo hoo - would you like me to call and reserve a room at Desert Inn? They are the cheapest at $89 a night for a standard room.

:cheer2::cheer2:

This will be awesome! I'm actually going to register for it right now so I don't forget and wait too long.

I'm kind of bummed because I know I'm spending a lot of money this weekend with the trip and all. But at least I get paid on Thursday and reimbursed a little from my Aunt and Cousin.

Oh, screw it! I'm excited and I am buying myself (and a co-worker) one of those Dooneys. Can we use Disney gift cards at the Expo?

Amy, I love teal. I can spot teal a mile away - real teal, not bluish green or greenish blue. I think we need a shopping trip before the Diva trip and maybe we might come across a teal shirt for you.
Whether we find one or not is not the issue, it's the shopping! ;)

Hehe. Teal is such an awesome color. I'm wearing it right now (gotta support my Sharks ;))

Chris---You probably look AWESOME in teal.

I do not dislike teal, just do not have anything teal, went to 4 stores did not find anything teal except a polyester lace peek-a-boo-here-are-the-girls collar thing in size 4X, and I have given up, threw in the towel, admitted defeat.

Okay, not REALLY a fan, kind of a lame color, I mean really...to find it in crayola, don't you have to spring for the really big box? Pretty sure it isn't even in the box of 48. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Just being a PIA.

I like to play it that way. But thinking my teal will be missing the bluish tint and be, well, GREEN!!!!

All this talk about the Teal shirt, I realized.....I don't have one either...... Hmmmm, what to do???? Might have to do some online shopping to remedy that!!!!

Well, I believe I'm the one who started it ...
