For all the Disney Dooney and Bourke fans:

This print will be released at the Tinker Bell Half Marathon Expo this weekend!! :cool1:

I'm getting the large one! I've been waiting for a Tink print D&B!

Cute Tink print. Jill posted that on FB and I'm sure it's going to be popular. I know Laurie and Theresa have already both said they want one! ;)

I totally want one - just have to decide whether the large one or the cross-body one.............. Valentine's Day and b-day coming up soon :thumbsup2

................ and I'm ignoring your boring excuses on the t-shirt, Betty :snooty: What-ev-er.

I agree with Carol and Trudi! We need a group Billy show! Might be a challenge to squeeze it in there, but I'm fine with anytime. Let me know what works best for everyone and we can add it to the list.
Yes!!!

You can take Joni off - she is MIA and we are going to be a threesome :cutie:

Katie~ What happened on your dates?! Was there a keeper?! Details, lady, details. popcorn::

One of my favorite students was suspended for getting caught smoking pot off campus. Turns out we hold students responsible for their behavior off campus too. Guess I need to keep an eye on her during the DL fieldtrip.

For you SoCal Divas: Rochelle mentioned on FB that the SoCal promo tickets ($99 2-day pass/$114 2day ph) can be purchased at grocery stores. True? Just wanting to verify that I can buy 10 of these babies during the Diva trip.

Both! Duh. One for Valentine's day and the other for your b-day. :thumbsup2

My ears were burning..... :rotfl: D & B Tink purses!!!! :yay:
LOL I guess so!
I am using the same $30 Kohls purse that I've had for two years now. No Dooney's for me. However, I have no problem encouraging other people's shopping addictions. (see my post to Theresa! LOL!!)

I kind of figured that. Too bad she just disappeared. I do hope all is well with her, and nothing serious happened. :sad2:

Do any of you want to share a room Friday thru Sunday night (Labor Day weekend) for the Disneyland Half Marathon? I was going to try to book a room at Desert, Carousel, or Hojo's - whichever I can find the better deal at. Let me know :) I think I will be flying in Friday night and flying out Monday morning.

:wave2:

It's been a cruddy day for me. I had a panic attack at work which just left me drained for the rest of the day. Trying to make up for it with some hockey, a drink, and some friends.

Can it be Thursday yet?

Sure, skip those pesky days in between, no one will notice. Hope today is better.

:!

I am teaching Jabberwocky this week - I love this silly poem. When I learned it as a senior I remember seeing some funny illustrations about it. Anyone have a clue? I have searched youtube and come short. The Johnny Depp version is different and shorter than the original poem so I won't be showing that in class.

I am no help, but in my head I hear the Red Queen screaming, "Who killed my Jaberwocky?" Thanks for that. :scared1:;)

Good morning, ladies! :) Happy Tuesday.

Over the weekend I realized that I don't have a lime green shirt! Well, technically I do. The one I wore on the 2009 Diva trip, but um, it's about 3 sizes too small now. :sad2: So when I was out running errands, I was also searching for one with no luck.
Is lime green out of style now? For awhile it seemed like that color was all over. I might have to be a rebel and wear blue or something else if I don't have any luck between now and the trip.

Eh hem, lime green can never go out of style. It is my favorite. I do admit, I have only really seen it in the athletic section in Target. Too early in the season likely. I bet in March it will be everywhere. I have many lime green shirts, jackets, sweaters, etc. So no need to shop for more.

My issue is teal. I am about to boycott Sat and Sun. First Pink, then the non color teal. What color is teal? Is it blue? Is it green? Is it blue green or green blue? Let me tell you, it is no where. No. Where.

Oh, and Okay Theresa Queen of Google, let me qualify that with No. Where. Cheap. I am frugal, as you know.
I did find an especially gruesome speciman with some kind of lacey do-hicky neckline on clearance, but it was a 4X...and even my frugal soul could not convince me that it would truly work for me. It also had no natural fabric anywhere in it.

My closet is full of black and lime green. I have no need to dversify. I do have a purple polo, no idea where that came from.:lmao:

Ummm....me either! I hate the swinging gondola's! I thought I was outsmarting her by going in the non-swinging gondola, but she caught on pretty quick .

I guess I'll have to take her on it one of these days :sad2:.

Maybe we should have Laila ride with me and a barf bag, then she would get over her desire once and for all. The only time I tried it, I made it one full revolution and the CM let me off. He did not want to have to hose out the car!!! Major green.

For you SoCal Divas: Rochelle mentioned on FB that the SoCal promo tickets ($99 2-day pass/$114 2day ph) can be purchased at grocery stores. True? Just wanting to verify that I can buy 10 of these babies during the Diva trip.

I think so, Jen. I think I saw them at the checkout at Vons today. Will look more closely next trip through.

Nothing exciting in my life. Hope you lovely ladies are having a splendid day.

I am about to boycott Sat and Sun. First Pink, then the non color teal.

I don't have any teal either. At least I don't think I do. Is teal the same as aqua? Oh, who knows. :rotfl: Since I will be leaving at 8 a.m. on Sunday morning, teal or no teal, it won't matter for me.

Now, pink on the other hand, I LOVE!!! Love pink. It's my favorite color. I didn't order the group tee, but I'm not worried because I have plenty of pink to choose from. Even hot pink. ::yes::

:rotfl:

Thanks - let me know what you see. I really need the $114 ph passes. If we can save $20 each, that gives me $200 for our van rental/gas budget that we desperately need.

One more thing to the Half Marathon Divas - Desert Inn is showing the best rates at under $100/night - everywhere else is either booked for a regular room or over $130.

HEY! I fully disclosed my snoring problem prior to both of you agreeing to bunk with me. Amazing what a person will put up with for a super cheap hotel room isn't it?!:rotfl2:

::yes:: :thumbsup2 I will just charge up my Ipod and keep my ear phones handy to drone out the Zzzzzzzzs (Or pretend it's hubby before he got his CPAP for sleep apnea). Throw in a few rumbling trucks, Domino's supply delivery at 2 am, pitter patter of kitty feet doing her midnight crazies run and a fan for "white noise", it will be just like home.

What would make this story better is if a neighbor was spying on you, saw the body, and called the police...:rotfl: No officer, he was already dead when we brought him here...
:lmao: Lord of Death is uber creepy looking, I already have issues with the creepy beady eyes Jack Frost model I picked up after Christmas clearance. I have to turn it away so it's not staring at my while I fall asleep! Lord of Death would not be easy to store for us, I'm sure hubby would want it out all the time.:scared1:

I was going to suggest JCP too, they always seem to have bright happy colors in the spring line. Macy's might have some, their Style & Co line works for my round short ampleness.

No layers for me thank you very much. Unless of course it's 40 degrees and raining the entire trip. Which, I highly doubt it will be. ;)

From your lips to God's ear.. as the saying goes... :littleangel:

Rain free trip would be wonderful compared to the soggy slosh fest the last time I went! Disney closed the parks early because of the rain.. it was BAD! I don't mind a short shower, drippy drizzle. Clears out the park pretty fast, no lines! woohooo! :yay:

Nope, teal is more greenish kind of.

See, a non specific color. Maybe next year we can select burnt sienna, or ecru. How about....

Now I am just getting hostile. I hate shopping and I have looked in 4 stores, so I am totally done with the whole "Shop for a matchy matchy" shirt" part of my life.

I am finding this trip to be far too stressful. Too many decisions, too much pressure. Pick a snack. Buy a shirt. Sign up.

Not really, but I was spending way too much time figuring out the shirt until I had to let it go.

The pressure. And no one went all gangsta on me. Thank goodness. Not sure I could handle it. :lmao:

I tell my daughter all the time that I love to dish it out, but I am not going to take it, whenever she starts teasing me back. She doesn't buy it either.

.

I read the info online and it says that disney will check that you are S. California resident before admission to the park. Do not know if this is true.

On Mousesavers website there is the link to the Youth group DL page. Will not save you much money, but for each 10 youth group tickets purchased, you can get one free chaperone >19 years ticket.

At least it's not orange. Those of us living in the woods might easily find a hunter orange item to wear at Walmart.

Won't be lost in the crowd, that's for sure! :rotfl:

I have no teal either! But here's my solution, I looked it up and the complementary color is warm pink (which I'm calling rose)... guess what? I do have a rose colored Disney shirt so I will be the complementary one :)

For those wanting more technical information, here it is, directly from Wikipedia:

Teal is a low-saturation color, a bluish-green to dark medium, similar to medium blue-green and dark cyan. It can be created by mixing green with blue into a white base, or deepened as needed with a little bit of black or gray color. The complementary color of teal is a warm pink. It is also one of the initial group of 16 HTML/CSS web colors formulated in 1987.

The first recorded use of Teal as a color name in English was in 1917. Its name is derived from the Middle English tele, a word akin to the Dutch taling and the Middle Low German telink. As a color, its name is believed to have been taken from the small freshwater Common Teal, a member of the duck family whose eyes are surrounded by this color.

So, there you go! Don't you feel enlightened now? :cool1:

As far as the dates, I've only been on one so far and although it was nice. I think we are better off as friends. Not much of a connection. The other date won't be until February sometime since I've been so busy :guilty:. And the last guy...well I think I'll just back away from that one. It's an ex from High School and I think it's best to stay away from that . If you want more details, see me during the ladies trip ;).

As far as the tickets, they do sell them at Vons, but they will ask for ID at the gate for the 1st use. But since your students are minors, that wouldn't matter, but if there are any adults, this could be a problem.

I wouldn't mind sharing a room, but I'm still on the fence  (bad Katie). Hopefully once I finally decide, they won't be sold out. Plus, I'm not sure what my childcare arrangements for Laila will be and I might have to drag her and one of my teens along to watch her if I do go....

Does anyone know how long before the 1/2 marathons usually sell out. I need to know how much time I have to think about this .

She actually might find that fascinating. She gets interested when she sees someone "spit" (that's what she calls vomiting).

I do feel enlightened, BUT.....Not a fan of pink, so own no pink.

Wait, wait wait. I decided to let it go.

Here I am, walking away and letting it go.

I did know about the Teal ducks. I have seen some at the Zoo. So, if I stretch the Teal duck analogy far enough, I can wear yellow or orange....right? Yellow ducklings, or orange legs.

Blech.

Bernice. Blaze orange is a color I could get behind. I look fine in orange, and it is a color that does not confuse.

I like teal :). I have 2 teal shirts if anyone wants one.

I don't have a "hate on" for Teal like I do pink....just am confounded by it.

It seems to only be a color favored by brides to torture their bridesmaids.

At least, we don't need dyed to match shoes.:)

I wonder if your shirt would fit me Katie. I have HUGE shoulders and you are....well...endowed elsewhere. Might work. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

This is what we originally quoted the students with - $134 for the 2-day park hopper. However, if I don't scrounge up more money by saving money with the tickets, I am not sure how we are going to pay for van rental/gas. $260 was what I originally budgeted, but that was before I learned that the school vans do not hold enough students and I do not have enough drivers to get us all down there.

There would be two adults, 9 students (teenagers though - will they check them?) And do they really check id's? I have never seen them do this.

Pick a side! The running side :rotfl: If Jessica and I book a room, I am sure we can always fit you in if you decide to come.

The half filled up in 6 weeks last year - 6 months the year before. It is already 51% full less than a week in. It is going fast!
