Girls Trip~OLD THREAD (see first post for link to new one)

B IF we end up going we are not doing any group activities either. I thought I wasn't going to go but my mom can't switch my ticket to my dad for the cruise so as long as nothing goes wrong with his cancer treatments then I guess we are still going. I thought we would just cancel the Disney part of the trip but my mom doesn't want to.

But IF we go we won't get there till prob noon on Fri and then orig the ONLY thing we were going to do was the group photo sat morning and the scavy hunt but my mom's knee is REALLY bad (she found out she has NO padding between her femur and her bottom leg bones so it is gridning bone on bone) so I don't see how she is going to do ANY walking much less that I told her she should rent one of those scooters like Cheryl has. But anyway we will be there till Sun afternoon if we go so we should def meet up. I DEF want to meet you and Alison!!

I am hoping to see the rest of the ladies too at the group photo!! Otherwise we are pretty much doing our own thing as well cuz we will have the girls with us.

Off to work on Katy's slumber party. This is the first one we've had. 8 11 & 12 year old girls. I hope I survive LOL

I would love to see more pictures! Of course, I'm already planning what to eat there!

Sure I will def try to take some of the food for sure and I will take a few of the atmosphere. The girls and I are on a MAJOR budget so we will be eating all walk ups so we will def have to try this place for lunch or dinner one day!!

And yeah the cruise is prob def going to happen unless something really bad happens with my dad. He has his surgery monday so unless he has to start chemo or something we should still be going. And if we go on the cruise then prob disney as well.

I hope to be able to see some if not all of you at some point during the weekend!! My mom's 67th birthday is that Sunday so we are going to be celebrating that as well. Should be a fun time!!

I was wondering what the latest was on your Dad. I hadn't heard he was getting treatments. What is his prognosis? I hope not too serious.

Hi Mel well he had two large spots. One on his eye which turned out to be basal cells thank goodness but they still removed a large spot and that is where he had the 80 stitches.

Then he had a large spot on his cheek and that was NOT melonoma thank goodness but it is a different type of cancer. I forgot what my mom said it was but I guess Melonoma is worse so they were glad it was not that. They had done a large biopsy a few weeks ago and now they are going to go in and remove the entire area. I'm not really sure what all is entailed or if he will need any type of treatments. Have to wait and hear after monday.

He also has some really bad stomach issues and they were worried about espohageal cancer and he has had several scope jobs done. They had him on some meds and he was doing better but now it is bothering him really bad again. He gets super ill and can't eat. He only ways about 140 lbs! He looks skeletal! So we are hoping they can get that under control as well.

Thanks so much for asking and we are hoping that he is doing better before we go that is why it is so tentative. But it looks like we are to the point on our cruise where mom would lose quite a bit if not all of her money if she cancelled so she is really hoping that he is ok and we are still able to go.

I look forward to seeing you and the others as well!! We might have to meet up one day and do Tower!! You are my Tower buddy!!

I totally agree, your mom should rent a scooter, makes for a happier time for everyone. My husband put up a fight and finally gave in to rent one (he has arthritis in his hips). He had a great time and so did we..not worrying about his pain level.

Sending good healing thoughts for your Dad and for your Mom. Let us know how the surgery goes and any treatment needed, I'm sure all of us are wishing your family well and many prayers for a good outcome.

I was thinking is was the 14th but I could definitely be wrong. I am open either weekend so what ever works best for others works for me.

Thanks so much Bernice that means a lot I will def check in with his prognosis after his surgery!! And as far as my mom I totally agree!! We are going to Catalina and Ensenada on the cruise before the diva trip and I worry about her just getting around there!! Her doctor said she is going to need surgery but like everything else she just puts it off because she doesn't want to deal with it. Problem is she still LOVES to travel but now this is really going to be a hinderance unless she faces the facts and just does the scooter. I don't know if she thinks it is going to make her like an invilid or that that is admitting she is old LOL but she is so resistant. But I 100% agree with you that we ALL will have a better time if she does it. She won't be worrying about the pain and we won't be always having to stop so she can rest etc. I hope she really thinks about it!!

And yes I DEF want to meet you guys and see everyone as well!! I am going to do the group photo if nothing else and then I think I already gave you my cell so please feel free to call or text anytime and would love to meet up with anyone on the "off times" for a ride, a coke or just to say hi!!

Bridget, I am so sorry. Yes, I originally wanted to have dinner there, not lunch. Actually, since it was such a small group, I didn't even think you would make those ressies for us. And I didn't know it was listed as lunch until I was looking over my eating schedule yesterday. I was trying to find a spot to eat at the Holly Jolly Bakery. Anywhos, I can take care of changing the reservation if you want.

(And Beth, it's not your fault. Just must have been a communication gap.)

I do have a really big request though. Not sure if it will be possible. Do you think that those of us who are going to the Jazz Kitchen can request our seats in the room where the band is playing? I sat in there one time with a few of the Divas during a mini meet last year, and we had a blast in there. Lots of interaction with the band.

Once again, I'm sorry for the mishap.

I can't believe how close the trip is. I have been busy the last couple of weeks with my daughter being home. We did make it to Disneyland for a couple of days. It was crowded but I love Disney at Christmas. Things are starting to get back to normal from the holidays.

I think I have everything all caught up (except I need to PM laurie my treat I am bringing just don't know yet) It sounds like scavenger hunt will be next to work on once we get out teams.

I have meet and greet outfit and gift. Ordered shirts. I have saved enough money for my hotel and meals and a little shopping. My birthday is this month hopefully will get money to do more shopping. (trying not to use any credit cards for trip/or anthing else)

need to make sure I keep checking in now that we are getting closer to the trip.

Hello, everyone!
Hope you all had a great weekend. We did. Saturday we spent the day out in nature! Yes, there is more to Vegas than the Strip. It was fun being up in the mountains and doing some hiking.
Today was a kick back movie day with taco soup for dinner. Yum!
It all went by too fast though. Oh well. Hopefully this week will as well.
