Indeed... especially since they are so purty!

Hey, I found some we can wear around the park after dark!! We can buy some of those glow necklaces and bracelets, and with these shoes we'll be stylin. :rotfl2:

My toes are way too funky ugly for stripper shoes.
Not to worry. I've got you covered. :thumbsup2

Okay, being serious for a minute, now that we have the VIP tour (YAY!), is anyone still planning to do either the Segway or Walk in Walt's Footsteps tours? :confused3

well gee, I guess I'm covered then.

:offtopic:

Oh yea! I get to tell it again. :goodvibes I never get tired of telling this one. . .

It was my youngest dd's(2 at the time) first visit to Disneyland. She didn't know what to expect, except for she knew that Sleeping Beauty's Castle was there. All the way to Disneyland in the van she kept telling us over and over that when she got to Disneyland she was going to sleep with Sleeping Beauty in her castle.

I told her that Sleeping Beauty's Castle walk-through was closed years ago, so she wouldn't be able to visit her there, but she would surely see her other places. But she kept insisiting over and over that she would sleep with Sleeping Beauty. We laughed it off and said "Sure, honey. You can just ask her when you see her." ;)

One day when we were in the Animation Studios we saw Belle in the Princess area (used to be where Turtle Talk now sits). So we waited in line for Belle. My dd walks up and asks Belle where Aurora is and matter of factly tells her that Sleeping Beauty is her favorite and she wants to sleep with her. Belle was very gracious and told her that Aurora would be coming out next and they would arrange to have her first in line to see her. Then she kissed my dd on the LIPS! It was precious!

The handler CM put my dd first in line to see Aurora who came out right after. Dd walked right up to her gave her a huge hug and said "Can I sleep with you??" Aurora was taken back and asked "What?" Dd repeated that she wanted to sleep with her. Aurora said "Of course!" and laid out her dress and laid down. Dd laid on top of it, closed her eyes and the picture taking commenced. They both pretended to sleep for about 30 seconds. Aurora asked dd if they could wake up. Dd said "Nope! Still sleeping!" :rotfl: Aurora gave her another 30 seconds or so before they woke up.

My mom and I were seriously bawling. What a magical moment for my dd and my entire family. :cloud9: We even heard Aurora ask the CM photographer for a copy of the picture.

The next year when we went back, we saw the same Aurora during storytelling at the Princess Shoppe. She recognized my dd and called her by name. Then she introduced her to Prince Phillip who went on and on about how Aurora had told him all about their nap time together. How they pulled that off, I have NO idea! But once again, another Disney Magical moment for dd.

Just an aside: After having the above experiences with the princesses at DLR, it is no wonder why I am not a fan of PFFT! Oh how I miss the magic when the princesses were free. Now they are prisoners of the PFF.

Anyways, thanks for letting me share that again! Like I said, I LOVE LOVE sharing the magic! pixiedust:
Callie, I found this on another thread here, but I had to quote it. What a wonderful story!!! That's the sweetest thing I've read in a long time.

And now I finally "get" that pic. lol Too cute!! :goodvibes

Oh, and for the record I agree with you about the PFF. I don't like it at all either.

Well, I just talked to my DH. He called from work. (he works nights) and I mentioned to him about leaving on Wednesday and he said that should be fine.

The thing is, if I come in a day early, I'll need to leave a day early because he can only spare so much time off from work.

So it looks like this will be my schedule. Arrive Wednesday night, around 8 p.m., check in and probably just hang out at the hotel since I'll probably be tired and I don't really want to go to the parks or DTD all alone. LOL

That way, I'll be there already when everyone starts arriving on Thursday!

The only downside to this is when I leave Sunday, it will have to be early. The bus leaves at 8:45 so I will miss all meals and activities planned for Sunday. :guilty:

Oh well. Can't have it all I guess. LOL

Oh man, I missed talk about stripp...er...dancer shoes?

I've actually owned two pairs in my life. And I wore them. Out. In public. And liked 'em.

Might still have 'em. Maybe I'll bring them and give you guys lessons in walking, if I still fit in them after the boring and annoying foot growth that happened post-bebe.

As I've mentioned before, I have hobbit feet (hmm...that sounds like a good user name), and usually have a hard time finding high heels that are *pretty*. Wide width heels just don't look dainty to my eyes. But there's something about the elevation of "dancer" shoes that allows my feet to wear a normal width and for that they deserve a medal. :upsidedow

My friend and roommate at the time went with me to get a pair for the Amazon.com post-holiday party the year we lived together, and she indeed bought a pair with flashing lights in the soles, that lit up when she walked! Adult version of little kid shoes, LOL. Mine weren't so cool, and she refused to let me buy them instead of her. My second pair are just sheer lucite platform and heel.

But NOT NOT NOT as tall as the ones you've shown, nor are they they toe-less kind in that last picture. I saw those shoes on a fancy/serious/corset/garter-n-stocking sort of website once and I think I had nightmares from the weirdness of them.

OK that's ENOUGH talk from me about these shoes, especially after danger's story was just posted again. :goodvibes

Beth,
Thanks for the info on the Sea Venture. We were going in Feb., but who knows?

It's also too bad that you have to give up something for the other, to get to DL early. Were there more things you wanted to do on Sunday than Thursday?

I wish you didn't have to leave so early Sunday morning!:sad2:

Callie!! OMG! That was the best character story I have ever heard!!

You ladies have me dieing from laughter :lmao: ! I'm at work trying not to laugh too hard because I don't want my office mates to think I'm nuts  !

I think I need to start coming on the boards at night more often. I'm missing all the action  .

Callie ~ I always wondered about your picture in your signature. What a wonderful story that goes along with it :lovestruc .

Okay, being serious for a minute, now that we have the VIP tour (YAY!), is anyone still planning to do either the Segway or Walk in Walt's Footsteps tours? :confused3

I originally wanted to do the Walk in Walts Footsteps, but if there is no longer interest in it, I'm fine with skipping it.

Thanks for the comments on my dd's Sleeping Beauty story. We have had so many wonderful moments at DLR like that, it's what keeps me coming back again and again.

I don' think I'll do any other tour except the VIP. Who else is staying through Monday now? I wanted to close the park on Sunday night! Anyone else?

Fridays is my day without the kids (they go to a homeschool enrichment program) so I'm busy doing yardwork and :laundy:. It's gorgeous outside today, the high is supposed to be 68 degrees. Just wish the air quality was better. The smog is just gross.

I have less than 2 hours before I have to get ready to go get them, so I better get busy and make the best use of my time.

I know, me too! But if I have to choose, I'd rather be here all day Thursday because it's our first day and we'll all be meeting for the first time, kwim?
I think that will be more fun.

Oh man, I missed talk about stripp...er...dancer shoes?

Wasn't that amazing??? I loved reading that. :cloud9:

:rotfl2: Yes! Join us at night!! You never know what the topic of conversation will be. :rolleyes1

I'd do it, but 1.) I'm leaving early Sunday now, and 2.) my DH wants to do it too, so I said we'd take the tour together one of our upcoming trips.
But there might still be some who want to do it or the Segway.

I hope you didn't mind me posting it here. I can't even remember now what other thread it was I saw it on. But I just had to tell you how wonderful I thought it was.
Enjoy your day and the great weather. :)

 Molly! Who knew!! And here I thought you were a good girl...... :sad2:

:rotfl:

I really have to stop posting late at night. I've decreased food and starting jogging, and since it's been so long since I ran to any extent, I forgot how it wipes you out! Add one beer on top of that, and I was a bit toasty last night.

I don't remember why I got the first pair, but they were actually quite comfortable at the time. (I like big chunky heels more than flats b/c I find them more comfy, and I like running instead of walking b/c walking cripples me and running makes my hips and feet feel good...I'm different from most poeple in those ways!) The second pair were for the amazon post-holiday party, just wanting to be crazy. Those weren't so comfy, we were a bit hobbled by the end of the evening.

But with either of those shoes, you just have to give up walking like you normally walk, and sort of stomp. Pretend you're a supermodel going down the runway. Stomp stomp stomp. :)

I also wore very high, platformy, heels for my wedding, b/c I didn't want to pay to have my gown hemmed up. Bought shoes rather than have it altered in that way. I considered the stripper shoes, but the more comfy pair were too short, and the taller ones have a spikier heel, and I had an outside, in the grass, wedding and didn't want to aerate their soil! lol

If it's not too late, please add me to the VIP tour list. Thanks

steph
Steph, make sure you PM Lesley as well as posting here. It's just a way to make sure that all requests for meals, tours, etc are seen and no one gets missed or left out of something they had wanted to sign up for.

I think it makes it easier on the contact person for that event, activity or meal since they dont' have to read through each post if they don't want to or have time to.

Thanks!! :)

Hi everyone...I was busy catching up on the last few pages.
Hi Sarah!

Well, I just wanted to check in and say hi. I've been working all morning cleaning, doing laundry and organizing my older DD's room. I'm tired now but still have more laundry to do after I grab something for lunch. Talk to ya later.

It's been forever since I've walked around in any kind of heel.

I'm 5'9" and back when I used to weigh around 125 and was skinny (way back, many years ago!), I loved to "dress up" for work and wear skirts and heels. Now after being a SAHM for so long, and gaining so much weight  , the thought of wearing heels is horrifying!! :scared1:

Seriously, I'm such a casual person. Even when I do dress up for a special event, I won't wear heels. I think I've forgotten how to walk in them. I would never go back to work any where that I had to dress up. Skirts, hose, heels....ugh, no thanks!! :scared:

I'm happiest in my jeans and tees. So if/when I go back to work, I'll be looking for someplace I can wear those too. :rotfl:

I haven't read this thread in a long time. I have no clue what's been happening. :rotfl: I can't believe the trip is almost here!! :yay:
