Girls Trip #1 (check in daily for any plans being finalized or changes/updates)

You are not off base at all.:) From my experience in going on a ladies trip we would have ADR lists and Activities lists (like tours) and then we would figure out when we would be able to touch base as a group to maybe have a CS meal together or ride Splash, Pirates, or whatever, together. It is really informal and fun! We don't all have to be joined at the hip the whole time.
I think riding Pirates together would be a fun ride to do as a group. :thumbsup2

I was kind of thinking along the same lines as you.

Meet up and then split up, and meet up and then maybe go on certains rides together and so on. :confused3

I might be up for a tour? Maybe the Segway or Walt's tour? :woohoo:

I'm also very curious about the Food and Wine Festival? Anyone else?

I can't remember if I mentioned this or not, but as it gets closer, I am going to ask for those who want to share their cell numbers to PM them to me, and I'll compile a list and make copies so we can all keep in touch.
That way we can split up for awhile, and then have an easy way to find each other again.

So basically if someone wants some alone time, they can have it, but if someone else wants to be with a group the whole time, that can happen too. No one will be alone unless they want to be.
Does that make any sense? LOL

Sunday I will probably be doing the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour. And I think a few ladies were interested in some Food and Wine Festival stuff. Once more info is released on that we can make more plans. But I know I'm interested. :thumbsup2

Yes, I can't wait until they post the itineraries and offerings for the Food & Wine Festival. http://www.wdwinfo.com/Disneyland/events/foodandwine.htm has the information from last year, and it looks like there was lots of fun things to choose from.

My goal for the girls' weekend is to experience all the activities that I can't do when I'm with my kids, and I won't even do Goofy's with my kids, so that's definitely a no go for me.

I am DEFINITELY in for the Segway Tour. That's gonna be a HOOT!

You know, I was thinking the same thing myself;) .
I mean, we can't go around in a herd of 30-something storming thru DL and DCA! I am sure groups will go their own way for rides and such. I arrive Friday and will skip BB for lunch - overpriced for me and so-so food, but if we decide on a dinner spot, I'm in - maybe F&W weekends will have something to offer? Actually, I am very interested in all the F&W activies, once the schedule comes out we can talk about what interests us. I have been the last two years for both paid and free events and it is very fun, informative and adult orientated. On Sat, count me in for GK b-fast and HoB dinner, yum. I would love to do a tour on Sunday, Segway is my first choice, but Walk in Walt's is okay, too. I assume when we get closer to the 60 day window we will get more organized on who is doing what and start making some ressies? I think because the tours are limited to ten-twelve people, we should book those as soon as it is available. I look to our fearless leader Beth for guidance:worship: .

LOL I don't know about fearless leader. :rotfl: But yeah, as it gets closer I'll need people to have a better idea by then of just what they want to do and when.

For example, I think on Saturday, I really want to do HOB. So I can head up the ressies for that, and then if Callie should happen to pick that night to do her Yamabuki dinner then she can over see the sign ups for that.

I'll be doing the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour so I can get the sign ups/head count for that and maybe someone who is planning to do the Segway tour can volunteer to over see sign ups for that.

It's easier that way on everyone and I can add all the contact info into my first post as we reach that point.

That's why I say if anyone has any other suggestions, don't be shy, speak up now and we can work it into the schedule. You never know, you might have several others who were thinking the same thing and were just waiting for someone to suggest it. ;)

I want everyone to be able to take full advantage of this "me" time and make the most of their trip so we can all have a blast!!

LOL Well, that makes sense.

I'm the opposite. I want to do a character breakfast, because with a family of 6 it's so expensive for all of us to do it together, AND my kids and DH could really care less about the characters. :sad2:
I'm more into it then they are. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

But it doesn't HAVE to be Goofy's Kitchen if someone else has experienced them all and thinks there might be a better choice.

Beth, re Goofy's, I had one horrible experience there, so I won't be returning. I understand that many people have great experiences there, but it just wasn't my cup o' tea. That, paired with the fact that if we did have a good time, I would be thinking "awwwwwwe, how come my kids' couldn't experience a good time at GK???!" I'll just eat at Yambuki guilt-free knowing that they would NEVER enjoy a meal there. ;)

I like your thinking with a basic schedule posted and allowing all the ladies to pick and choose where they want to meet up with the group. Obviously everyone won't be able to afford each meal that we have planned (that would make it a very spendy weekend). We have to pick and choose what's really important to us.

Ellen and I are coaster commandos so we'll be spending the weekend bouncing between Screamin and Space, with maybe some wine tasting in between.:dance3:

Good grief! Double Post AGAIN!

Anyone else getting sick of these double posts and the time it takes to actually post lately?

The new servers definitely have some bugs that need to be worked out.

TRIPLE POST! That's it, I'm done for tonight.
I'm past my 30 minute limit anyway. pfffft :P

I thought it was just me. When you hit the "Submit Reply" button be prepared to go to the bathroom, refill your wine glass, pet your cat, check on your DH;) and still wait some more for it to post. It has been like this for a week or so. If you hit any button at all during the long process it will double post. Sometimes even triple post. At least that is what I have experienced. Good grief, what is going on Diz Boards?:confused3

I'm completely open about dining. I totally want to do BB for lunch!!! I've only eaten there once and we were seated close to the entrance which isn't all that fun. Also my boys were VERY young then (5 and 2), so it certainly wasn't a relaxing, fun experience, if you know what I mean.:goodvibes Hopefully this time I can get a waterside table, which I've never had before. That would be a treat for me.:cloud9:

DH and I usually take our boys to one character meal per trip, but usually I'm not really into character meals all that much. For some reason the extended time with the characters while at your table makes me feel weird. I don't get that feeling with the characters in the parks, ONLY at character meals. Although I think it's because my kids don't say much to the characters at the meals (they get shy or tongue-tied all of a sudden or something), so that puts me on the spot to do all the talking.:headache: I have a feeling that wouldn't be the case with our group of ladies though.:rotfl:

One thing I want to make sure everyone is present for is a group photo, so we need to get that into the schedule (time and place).

Riding Pirates all together would be a blast!!! Oh, and the Haunted Mansion too! And BTMRR!!!:yay:

F & W festival I'm completely excited about, and so is Cathy, my friend who's coming along! Plus, I've never had the opportunity to ride Screamin' yet (although DH and I rode RnR at WDW six times in one day and LOVED IT!!!), so I'm really looking forward to finally being able to ride Screamin'. Hopefully several times!!! (Luckily Cathy loves coasters too!):thumbsup2

I REALLY want to do the Segway tour also, but I'm not sure if I'll have the money.....and more importantly, will I really want to get up that early after a Saturday night spent with my DisBoard ladies?:dance3: :rotfl2:

OMG!
This girl's trip sounds like so much fun!
I just went in November..so I know my DH won't go for it.

But I was reading your itinerary and I highly recommend the Segway Tour!
I did the tour with my SIL, niece and DH..we were laughing so hard at each other while learning to ride the Segways.

There is room on the tour for about 10 people and it is a bit pricey($99), but if you have an AP, you get $20 off.

Definitely worth the money!
And made for some great scrapbooking pictures too!

Callie, sorry to hear you had a bad experience there. That's too bad.

I like the plan you and Ellen have so far. Sounds like you two are going to have a blast.

:rotfl2: It's not really funny because it's been such a pain, but your post cracked me up!

Capri, I am so looking forward to trying BB! We'll have to make sure we get a table near the water.

I think our group at a character meal would be too fun. And I agree with you about the photo. That's a must do! :thumbsup2

And you might have to make sure you get a wake up call especially after a Saturday night hanging out with this group!! :rotfl:

Hi Natalie! Thanks for the info on the tour! I think those who opt to go on it are going to have a great time!! ;)

I'm sorry to hear you can't join us though! We are always looking for more ladies to come and have some fun.
Maybe you should try asking your DH and just see what he says. Hey, you never know.......:rolleyes1

It is soooo tempting as I'm sitting here planning a girl's trip in September for my 40th Bday.
Hmmm.... I do have an AP, so I'd just have pay for airfare and a room.

40th birthday? Well, don't you know it's a rule when you turn 40 you are entitled to two Girls Only Disney trips?? So if you have one in September, then one in April will help fill that requirement. ;)

Besides you've got to get all the use you can out of that AP. And just think how much fun you'll have! You'll come home relaxed, refreshed, and ready to be a great mom and wife again.

And if you need help convincing the hubby we have a few handy tips (and some DIS lime green stripper shoes) you can use.......:rolleyes1 :lmao:

Good morning, ladies!
It is going to be another cold day here ... lots of snow coming this way. Yipee.:headache: I need to move back to California.:cloud9:

I am super excited for this trip! I have been looking at different places to eat and I will definitely do Goofy's and Blue Bayou. I am waiting to see how much moolah I can save before I can decide on the rest. If Beth reports good things about the Walk in Walt's Footsteps than I may do that to. I really wanna do the Fantasmic Dessert thingy----so I have to decide if I want the Tour or the show more....ah, decisions, decisions.

Same here.....snow, snow, and more snow. I'm not sure where you are, but it's been quite a few years since we had this much snow in Spokane (other than in the surrounding mountains). Good thing my hubby bought a new snow shovel earlier this year, because I was at Home Depot on Sunday, and they were all out! And everyone was out of de-icer! (Costco, Walmart, and Home Depot)

Shockingly, Home Depot had plenty of $400 snow blowers though, all of them nicely lined up towards the front of the store close to the cash registers. Hmmmm...;)

Hopefully you don't have to do much driving in the next couple of days. Try to stay warm and safe.:thumbsup2

I am all done cleaning and I am bored. I hope you all don't mind if I share some pics from our last trip to DL.

DD met Chip and Dale quite a few times when we went to WDW and she was so happy to see them again at DL.:goodvibes

The park was not that busy. I was surprised since it was August. But it was HOTTTT! It was a memorable trip to DL ---- we saw David Hasselhoff.:thumbsup2 Sorry, no picture.

We are in Boise. Our weather is alike like yours. We normally don't get a lot of snow fall here in the city...just in the mountains and hills. But this year we have gotten a lot of snow and I am not skilled at snow driving. So,I was happy to see that there was no sub jobs available at the school district. :woohoo: I wanted to stay home where it is safe.

My parents came into town this weekend and my dad (being a dad) brought us a shovel and sandbags to put in the back of our Durango so that it doesn't fishtail.

I hope you stay warm and safe too! Hopefully the snow will stop soon. :wizard:

Morning All!

I personally want to do everything I can. I am way into Goofy's Kitchen and BB and I'd love to do the Segway Tour. Since I never, ever get to see the fireworks I'd love to that too. I am also a ride junkie so I really want to spend lots of time doing in the parks - I have never been to CA - so I really want to ride Screamin. Whew! Maybe I should add on another day! :rotfl:

Hey January - those are great pics! Your DD is just adorable. My DS10's favorite characters are Chip and Dale. I need to make sure I get some new C&D pins for him while I am at DL.
